Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrh!!!

I have finally found time to play with some of my new stamps from the NEC. We are off to my parents for a week tomorrow and being a saddo I have packed loads of crafting stash .. I am going to play while I am away!!
Anyway when I saw these stamps i just had to buy them. The card I have made covers these challenges:
Just Magnolia - sketch (a bit loosely at the bottom!!)
Passion for Promarkers - use 2 images
Papertake weekly - open theme
Creative card Crew - vintage/aged (well its distressed and inked and pirates are from the olden days!!)
Simon Says Stamp - distressing
I masked Edwin onto the barrel and coloured using my promarkers, then cut out. I matted it onto the dp, which I matted onto black cardstock. Both the dp and cardstock have been distressed using my Tim Holtz tool (I could not live without it!) and the dp has been distressed using antique linen and weathered wood distress inks. I cut the ickle flags and rope out of some of the dp, and the sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly.

RED

and we are being sponsored by Stretch and Bubbles.

I used the teapot available from the store.
I coloured the image using promarkers and matted onto read cardstock. The papers are from Basic Grey ... I did have a mild panic when I first saw the challenge as i don't really use red! This pad was a life saver. I use added some ribbon and knots to complete the layout.

Sketch and Stash 32

Here's this week's fab sketch ...
We are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp again this week and have a$20 voucher up for grabs.

Here is my take on it ...
This is a great sketch for those larger stamps as there are very few layers. I got this adorable stamp for Mothering Sunday and have coloured it in using my pens. I matted the image and dp onto olive green cardstock. I added a band of organza pink ribbon and some olive green ribbon with a bow. The flowers are layered and as it was getting tight for the sentiment I wrote on the corner of the image.

The DT have made some gorgeous cards .. do take time to visit their blogs.

Just Cute Bears #10

This week's challenge is
Easter

and we are sponsored by Cuddly Buddly
who are offering this fab prize.

I really struggled with this challegne as I don't really do Easter cards, and have no Easter bear based images. My lovely crafting and DT buddy Lols helped out and sent me this image. I coloured the image using my pens and matted it onto yellow cardstock. The papers are from last year, and I am running out of them, but I think they are great for spring /Easter cards. I added some broad organza ribbon and some yellow ribbon and a bow. To make it look Eastery I added some teeny eggs from a craft set Ellie has (shush don't tell her!) and a peel off.

Do take a look at the DT's fab Easter creations.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge week 76

This week's Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge has been set by the lovely Jane and it is Pink, green and Flowers.
I made this card while I was at Wendy's shop the other week. I coloured the image using the latest distress inks and then rounded the corners. I matted the image onto pink and green cardstock. I love the latest BG papers and didn't want to loose the pattern, so matted the dp onto cardtock, and just added 2 strips of pink satin ribbon with this gorgeous green lace over the top. I punched some flwoers and leaves and added some gems. The remnant of lace was tied in the middle and put behind one of the flowers.

Do take time to have a look at the gorgeous creations made by the DT.

I am not around this weekend as I am at the NEC with my fab DT buddies Vicky (Victoria) and Jane ... dread to think what I will spend!!!! Hopefully we'll get to see some other blogging friends while we are there.

I'll be back on Monday with another Sketch and Stash challenge and all my NEC news!!

April showers

Just a quick post today ... got lots of jobs to get done before going to Vicky's tomorrow for the NEC!! So excited ... but need to be organised so I come back to reasonable civilisation rather than a demolition yard ... yes I am leaving the girls in hubby's 'capable' hands for 2 days and nights (gulp!!). Usually I entrust them to my Mum's firm but loving hands rather than their daddy who is the biggest soft touch on earth!!

Anyway I have finally got round to getting this card finished and posted ... I only started it on Monday!!! There have been a catalogue of disasters in the making ... mostly caused by the cat!!
I am counting this as a Spring card because of the colours and also we get lots of showers in April ... and its for a friend's April birthday.

I love this image and have coloured it 3 times using my pens. I chose spring papers (well there are golds and greens and birdies!!) and kept the layout simple. I was gonig to add some blue organza ribbon that matched the turquoise in the papers - had just enough for a strip and knot ... until the cat got it, chewed it sicked it up ... over one of the coloured images ... nice!!
I decoupaged the wellies and umbrella - should have been more decoupaging ... but not happening thanks to the cat!!
Onto disaster 2 ... I use silicon to stick the layers on decoupage. Its great stuff ... until the cat walks over it!!! So back to using foam pads. But in the process of taking the silicon off the umbrella it also took the colour ... thanks cat!! The image is raised off the dp using foam pads (the silicon was well and trully put away for another day!)
I decided not to put flowers on as they hid the lovely sparkly papers ... but now it looks a bit bear .. cheaper to post though!!

Here's a pic of the decoupage of sorts!
Hmmmm me and the cat are going to have words about helping in the craft room!!

Anyway this card covers these challenges:
Cute Card Thursday - dimensions
Charisma Cardz - Spring has Sprung
Wags n Whiskers - Pop it up
Polly craft challenge - sparkle
Simon Says Stamp - Easter/Spring and glimmer
Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge - Easter/Spring
Sweet Stampin Challenge - Spring is in the Air
Allsorts Challenge - Spring is in the Air
Colour Create - your choice of pastels + spring

Dutchdare Card Challenge

The challenge this time over at the Dutchdare Card challenge is to make a Spring card and use fabric on it.
I pleated some fabric I had in my scraps box and stitched it onto a band of organza ribbon. This is another of Wendy's fabulous Manga stamps. She is coloured using my penss and matted onto yellow cardstock. I punched a couple of flowers and added gems to the middle.

Do take a peek at the other DT creations.

Sparkly Spring

I made this card last night for the follwoing challenges:
Papertake weekly - sketch
Passion for promarkers - Spring and an animal
Polly craft challenge - sparkle
Everybody-Art-challenge - Easter
Simon Says Stamp - Easter/Spring and glimmer
Stamp with Fun - Easter
Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge - Easter/Spring
Our Creative Corner - Easter
Sweet Stampin Challenge - Spring is in the Air
Allsorts Challenge - Spring is in the Air
Stampin for the Weekend - Easter
I coloured the image using my pens and added finme glitter glue to the flower and round the edge of the image. I love this sparkly paper from DCWV Nursery stack, and is so spring like. The flower is glimmered with gold glimmer mist and I added a sparkly brad from the bottom of my stash! I am sending this to my neice for Easter ... they do the chocloate bit of Easter but not the religious bit so I tend to make Spring cards for them.

ABC Christmas Challenge .. G

G is for
Glitz

with the optional Extra
Silver

This week's sponsor is Toucan Scraps.
Some of the DT have used papers created for the challenge by Toucan Scraps.

And here is my card:

I love this Penny Black stamp, and think it is great embossed. I stamped it in versamark, and then embossed it using silver embossing powder. I matted it onto silver cardstock. The dp is a scrap ... I had planned to use the papers provided by our sponsor ... this card was originally made for the F challenge, aand I changed my mind, and then my 'adorabe' cat walked muddy prints all over the snowflake paper peovided ...hmmmmmmm. I added a silver ribbon that the girls got at Christmas - it held some of their pressies together. I added some teeny adhesive stars in the corners.

Do check out the DT's amazing creations.

Just Cute Bears #9

This week's challenge is a sketch by our lovely Jane.

We have a fab prize up for grabs again this week, donated by Cuddly Buddly Crafts.

I coloured in this fab image and matted it onto plain dp. I added pink gems to the image and ribbon ... no sentiment as I am not sure what I am going to use this for. I layered up a flower and added some swirls with gems on them.
Do take a peek at the other DT creations.

Saturday's crafting

The girls have been for their swimming lessons and I have sewn up a sash for Vicky's hubby, so I felt that a bit of time in my craft room was in order. I started the WOJ card yesterday, and coloured the Magnolia image in yesterday, so it was just a matter of putting the elements together.
This card covers the following challenges;
Just Magnolia - easel card
Friday Sketchers - sketch
Allsorts - Spring

I watercoloured Tilda using my new distress inks and distressed the edges. The papers are K and Co Charlotte, and very strokeable!! I matted them onto green cardstock, and rotated the sketch. I added some ribbon, flowers and pearls to finish it off.
And here is a close up of Tilda.

This card is for
Simons Say Stamp challenge on Papercraft planet - sketch
Allsorts - Spring
Katharina's GDT call for Whiff of Joy

I watercoloured Willow and cut her out using my oval nesties. I used the largest die, so to get the mat I attached my die to some cardstock using repositional tape and cut round it with my craft knife. I distressed all the edges of the papers and cardstock using my Tim Holtz tool. This is the last of my thin ribbon and I added a button to the centre of the bow. Finally green pearls to finish.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge week 75

It's Helen's turn to set the Secret Crafter challenge .. and she has chosen ...
Spring has Sprung
This has to be one of my favourite Spring images and I coloured it using distress inks (available from the Secret Crafter web shop). The layout is kept simple and I layered 3 pollycraft flowers .. the largest was white but I use a gold promarker to colour it. The ribbon is Bo Bunny ... deep deep breathes were taken before the scissors were used!!

Do check out nthe fab DT creations.

Wags 'n' Whiskers Guest Design Spot

I am really lucky to have been chosen to the Guest Designer for this week's Wags 'n' Whiskers challenge.
This week's challenge is called

"Pop it up" - add some dimension to your card!

Now I had an idea about this and after some playing around and a bit of research i came up with a heart pop-out card. The heart pops out when you open the card.

I stamped the image out and then watercoloured using my distress inks. I matted the image and design paper onto very dark gry/green cardstock. I added some glimmer misted and glamour dusted flowers and a bow. The sentiment is computer generated.

On the inside I used contrasting design paper and made the pop out heart. It is basically a heart with two smaller hearts attached and scored so the heart 'pops' out as you open it.
I embossed the smaller hearts using a freebie stamp and silver embossing powder, and used a Penny Balck Transparent sentiment for the larger heart.

Here is a view of the card standing up .. .you can see the heart 'popping' out.

For this challegne you can do anything that adds dimension .. mount your image on foam, add pop out bits ... the world is your oyster .. so to speak!!

And thank you Lacey and nikki for letting me guest mwah xx

Green!!

I started making this card on Sunday for a couple of challenges ... finally having finished it ... it fits 12!!!! YAY!!!
So this card is for the following challenges:
Cupcake challenge - green
A spoonfull of Sugar - Easter
Stamp Something - green and cream
Fuss n Fancy - Green
1 Stop Card Crafts - spots and dots
Passion for Promarkers - sketch
Creative Card Crew - going dotty
My Time to Craft - lovely lace
Simon Says Stamp - Green
Whiff of Joy - easel card
Crafty Cardmakers - a Feminine Celebration
Raise the Bar - going green

I coloured Melinda in using my pens and matted her onto cream cardstock. All the cream cardstock has its edges inked and I rounded all the corners. I stamped swirls over a piece of cream cardstock using thyme brilliance ink and themn clear embossed and heated them. I added some lace, some mulberry flowers coloured using my emerald promarker and a button.
Now I know it doesn't lok very Eastery but I tend to use cards with flowers on rather than eggs for Easter ... don't like to limit my stamps!! So this is going to my Auntie for Easter .. lilies are very Easter!!

The recipe I have used is from Katharina's Guest Design call ...So I am going to have a go at it.

Recipe:
Stamp(s): WOJ Melinda with bouquet; WOJ Swirls
Colouring Media: Promarkers
Papers: MME Bloom and grow

I had in mind the quote I wanted to use, and the perfect stamp for it!!
I coloured Maggie using pens and cut her out. I love these freebie papers by MME (I do have the 12x12"too!!) and matted them onto matching cardstock. I love this quote ... and have noticed that Tim Holtz has it on a new stamp set ... hmmm feel my credit card flexing!!!

Sketch and Stash 31

Chrissie has created a fabulous sketch for us all to work with this week.
And we are lucky to be being sponsored by Digital Delights again.
I loved this sketch and have made 2 cards, one with it as it is and one with it rotated. Both cards used images available from Digital Delights.

I coloured Rosie in with promarkers and inked the edge of the oval. The papers are making Memories and very neglected ... I haven't used them for over 2 years! I aded some ribbon from my stash and a sentiment from FF Pink Parfait collection.

Pippin is coloured using promarkers and again I have used very neglected Making memories papers. As I have made it for a man I didn't add any embellishments except for the green ribbon. The sentiment is again from Pink Parfait.

The DT have come up with some fabulous creations, so please do find time to look at them.
