Get out of town: Savannah, GA

Since I may be driving some paintings to a client in Savannah this weekend, I thought, "what better city to feature?" There isn't much that is better than a city by the water, and one with Southern charm to boot! I have visited Savannah several times in the past, but this time, I will be making a special stop at the new SCAD Museum of Art, which looks absolutely fabulous. Check out this sneak peek from Luxe Crush here. It is only a 3.5 hour drive from Atlanta and certainly feels like a departure from the hustle and bustle of our big city. I can't wait for a little meal at Paula Deen's The Lady and Sons. Ok, I can't lie, I am really going for the food:)

So many artists, so little time

This past Thursday, my husband and I attended open studio night at SCAD. The amount of great (young) talent in the Atlanta arts scene never ceases to amaze me. Shown above are a few of my favorite finds from the evening.

I am pleased to report that the event was also surprisingly well-attended, for all the gloom and doom currently in the media. For most, art is certainly a "luxury," but as I was reminded, seeing so many students and young professionals there purchasing, for some (like myself) it is still a necessity.
