My sister got married. 3 months ago. I did her flowers, and i liked how the cake flowers turned out especially. So I'm kind of a slacker, but oh well. The lovely photo was taken by: Jaclynn Davis.

{Coyote Buttes-South}
This trip was quite interesting. We started at 3 in the morning on Friday to drive down to Kanab to make it to a drawing for "The Wave." About a hundred people waited for the drawing, from all over the world. Me and Zak were SO close- someone almost opted out because they only let a certain amount of people in each day. The people had 4 in their group, but only 3 slots left, so someone couldn't go. Well it was pretty interesting for 7am!
We ended up getting a permit for south end of coyote buttes. And it was beautiful. We picked up my brother in St. George and headed on our lovely way. Such crazy structures to come out of nowhere.

{Feathers-Lots of them}
I have some funny stories about Huey.
A lot of people think he's just like the dog "Marley,"
from Marley and me, well, because we've had a lot of moment's
that are quite disasterous, but some how humorous.
Like the one below.
Huey was in our living room, we THOUGHT just hanging out.
But to our lovely surprise, he was ripping my pillow up.
The funny thing about this is that Zak kept telling me
to not put the pillows on the sofa. Why? Well because
one day, HUEY would rip one up?!
But because i thought they looked good,
i would bring them out every so often.
And well, Zak- you were right!
Huey had quite the party.
I didn't know so many feathers could fit in a pillow.

{Alaska}
While the husband was on vacation,
fishing his life away, drinking A LOT of red bull,
getting no sleep, and loving life.
I was busy, "Buying my happiness while he was away" haha
But seriously, i had nothing better to do! (excuse, cough cough)
But seriously, i had nothing better to do! (excuse, cough cough)
But in all seriousness.
Look above at my lamp. I have spent literally YEARS looking for this thing.
Most of the ones i had found were so expensive, and ridiculous for me to justify in buying.
Until i found this one. Its from the 70's and is straight up awesome.
There is a foot pad to turn the light on, and it arcs so nicely over my sofa.
And you know when you have had something in mind for a certain space for
SO LONG. And then you find it. And you feel so excited for that thing.
Ya, i feel so excited we have united. FINALLY.
AND yes. i am a dork.

Then i bought this bench.
How awesome is it, if you notice, the slats move out.
Notice the first, then the second picture.
Which is pretty similar to a George Nelson bench, with out the high expense.
I think I've had my dose of Mid Century Modern furniture for awhile now.
I have 3 pieces to fix up a bit. Now its just doing the work.
These are some bottles that i have been collecting that
finally have been put to good use.
Poor Zak, he sometimes doesn't get my collections.
But hey, in the end they work out just the way i want them to.
And this picture is for my friend at work.
She has been wanting to see my black and white stripes
I painted in my Bathroom.
Everything is still a work in progress, but its getting there.
They were a total pain to do, but i like the results.

{And another one bites the dust}
I'm walking to my mail box, roll my ankle,
look down, and what do you know,
my sandal broke.
Nice.
2 weeks ago, I'm walking around the office,
getting ready to go on a Diet Coke run,
and my shoe feels awfully loose,
what do you know. BROKE.
Tried tape, tried staples. Totally broke.
That same day, my friend at work Kristin,
so generously lent me some sandals to wear,
since my others had broke earlier that day.
As i'm getting out of my desk,
i feel that same similar feeling as earlier that day.
BROKE.
I mean seriously. AGAIN!
So I'm thinking...maybe I'm just buying cheap sandals.
But I mean i think TJ Max and Nordstrom Rack
are normal places to get some sandals.
Not too expensive, but not completely cheap.
Bad luck ? Maybe....
But really, 3 pairs in 3 weeks...REALLY?!
And the kicker, One of them wasn't even mine!
So, yeah, maybe sandals don't like me,
or maybe i shouldn't be so cheap.
But anyways, after 2 weeks of realizing
that i depended on my white, and brown sandals
a lot for the summer. Like most outfits.
I invested.
Maybe these babies i bought will be more dependable.
And they won't be cursed once on my foot.

{Peek-A-Boo & Spooky}
These things called slot canyons, honestly,
i was pretty much a little afraid of them.
In all the hiking books, it talks about how DANGEROUS they are if any,
i mean any type of rain is near. And yes i believe them.
But also, not only did i think of that,
I thought of the fact that a 225 pound person
probably wouldn't be able to get in one of these.
They are tight in places, and you definitely have to squirm in some areas.
Josh talked about snakes hiding in these places.
And lets just say, i like to breath.
But on another note, with how much i was afraid of these things.
I was pleasantly surprised. I think i liked, okay loved,
these more than Golden Cathedral.
They were these mini adventures, that you had to figure
out how you were going to fit past.
They were cool.
Besides the fact that down in the Escalantes, trails are marked by Carins,
and nothing else, expect time to get lost. :) we did, lots.
But we sure had fun.
And who couldn't love this mustache.
haha love that boy.
We had to climb down between these rocks,
that only gave us minimal space,
then you had to figure out how to get down the 6 ft jump.
Good thing we have guys to catch us.
{Golden Cathedral}
We heard the Escalantes were pretty & quite mysterious, but not this pretty.
For some reason, i don't know if it was the slot canyons or all the red rock,
but it was so pretty, me and Zak loved it.
We went with Shanae & Josh,
which by the way, made great hiking partners.
We started out making the 5 hour drive,
almost hitting an elk, and then again like usual,
finding a camping spot in the dark.
That morning we got up early, ate some Shanae made granola and yogurt.
Then headed out. We made the hike in, and it wasn't too bad.
The hike out, was another story, all up hill, and basically pure hell.
The "Golden Cathedral" was pretty cool,
basically these massive holes made by water.
And we were even able to watch
some repeller's come down right after we got in.
