Cotton Wood Half Marathon!

This year began a new leaf for me.  Upon having 4 babies my body is well shall we say not what I had hoped it would be.  Needless to say we were sitting around with friends one evening and my dear friend said you should plan to do the Cotton Wood half Marathon with us in the fall.  ( It was March) A half marathon is 13.1 miles.  I said yeah that could be fun.  Aaron kind made a snorting sound  and kinda mumble something about yea we shall see how long this phase lasts! haha! So I decided right then and there that I was tired of being out of shape and wanted a goal and that I was going to run the Cotton Wood half if it killed me.  I began training at once.  I began on a tread mill and graduated to running in my neighborhood.  First time running my hood, I was chased by two large dogs.. Yikes! I thought maybe this isn't worth it.  Eventually though I found some friends that all really enjoy running and I took up running with them.  ( Early in the morning) for those of you who don't know me very well I have never been much of a morning person.  I have learned from running to be better at that.  Needless to say my friends and I ran all spring and all summer, minus a few vacations.
This last weekend it was Race time!
It was so much fun, we left a 3:45 am, drove to Cotton Wood Height High School and from there rode the bus up the canyon a little over 9 nine miles and they dropped us off at the start.  At 6 :45 our race began!
I finished my race with a time of 2 hrs 2 mins.  This was a fabulous time for me, I was planning and hoping to finish at 2 and a half hours.  I am very proud of myself.  I am also so thankful for such great friends that didn't give up on me and kept encouraging me! I was a blast! I think I just might run one more before the year is over.  Maybe! I am also proud to say I am only a little stiff two days later and I think tomorrow I will go run off  some of this stiffness.  Yes I may have just found my new high!
Good Job ladies let's do this again sometime!

These are a couple of the gals I run with! They are so great! And they keep me going

School year begins! 2013

Ammon started 3rd grade this year!
 Caitlynn started 1rst.
They were so excited to go they were up and ready and we had 45 minutes to wait! Sheesh talk about a long 45 mins.

The trip of a life time!

As many of you know Aaron and I never had a real honey moon due to the fact that he got deployed to Iraq 6 days after we got married and he had to report to Camp Williams the morning after we got married.  So 10 years later we finally took one.  Aaron's company sent him to the Hong Kong to do some training, followed by the Philippines.  I met him in the Philippines, we spent three days there and then on the way home we spent a day in Japan, followed by a surprise 3 days in Hawaii.  It was so much fun! We had a blast.

From here up was the Phillipines
