Spotlight Sunday!

I would like to introduce our next Guest Designer for October!

PATRICIA GARCIA

While still keeping with my theme for this month of bringing some new designers to the Challenge Blog, I thought Patricia would be a great scrappy individual to highlight as a guest designer... she is always trendy with her projects and I can not believe I am saying this but seems to have even more knowledge of products that exist out there than I do!  If you ever knew me you would know that I am a hoarder of scrappy products and I think I finally met my match in Patrica!!  She lives in Kitchener with her 2 talented and adorable daughters and her very nice husband who has let us all just hang out at their place for tea parties or scrappy stuff!  You can check out Patricia's blog at the Little Flower to see her trendy creativeness!

Here are some examples of projects from Patricia's  blog that really stood out to me.

She recently played along with our Tag Your It Challenge and came up with this adorable little birthday tag using the Simply Charmed cartridge for the cake and the Art Philosophy cartridge for the tag!

Here is a cute little Hot Air Balloon shaped card that Patricia made with the Small talk Frames & Tags Cartridge.

Look at this adorable Little Birthday Cake Card that Patricia made!

I asked Patrica the following questions and here are her replies.

1. When did you start scrapbooking/papercrafting and why?
I started scrapbooking in 2004. It was my older daughter’s first communion and I made mini-albums for her grandparents. I have to say though that I just love everything paper.

2. What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e. cards, layouts, mini-albums, etc.)?
I like layouts and mini-albums because they allow me to keep my family memories but I also like cards because I get to send them with family and friends.

3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
By far, pattern paper.

4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
I absolutely love the Simply Charmed Cartridge.

Be sure to join us on Monday to see Patricia's post for our Monday Challenge and link up your own .

Spotlight Sunday!

I would like to introduce our first Guest Designer for October!

DEANNA WOODLAND

While last month I focused on designers who have been playing along with the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog on a regular basis I thought this month I might focus on bringing some new designers to the Blog!  Dee has been a friend of mine for a number of years and I have always appreciated her talent through those years!  I have joked many times that during the time I can make 1 card Dee's talent has been to make at least 3-5 stunning cards in the same time frame! She lives in Waterloo, Ontario a short 25 min drive from me with her 2 adorable kids and supportive husband!  She has been on many different design teams over the last number of her crafty years and is a wealth of scrapbook knowledge!  You can check out all of Dee's very creative projects at her Blog Dee's Paper Tree.  I have to say I count myself extremely blessed with the scrappy friends that I have as they are all as die hard as I am and I love it!

Here are some examples of projects from Dee's blog that really stood out to me.

This little Cool Chore Chart is a brilliant idea for the kids!  She used a font cartridge to create the titles and initials!

Photobucket

I love these Little Chandelier Decorations that Dee Made with the Summer in Pairs Cricut cartridge.

Photobucket

Look at the cute Little Ice Skate that Dee did for an eyelet Challenge!

Photobucket

And lastly I could not resist sharing this Little Christmas Project that Dee made one year.  The snowflakes and deer were cut with the Joys of the Season cricut cartridge.

I asked Dee the following questions and here are her replies.

1. When did you start scrapbooking/papercrafting and why?
Almost 10 years ago now when my son was 3 months I met another mom from my neighbourhood who was a scrapbooker! The rest is history!

2. What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e. cards, layouts, mini-albums, etc.)?
Cards are my favorite project but I do enjoy all paper crafts!

3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
Glitter, I am a sucker for sparkle!

4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
1.      This is a tough question, it changes weekly!  :

We had to put our former dog, Teddy, of 13 yrs down due to him having tongue cancer.  I also consider my daughter the true artist in the family. You can see some of her artwork as well as my hubby’s creativity when you look at my blog right sidebar and see the Johnny Depp artwork/creations. Please bee sure to visit my blog at Created by Sunshine HoneyBee and say hi!"

I would like to introduce our July Guest Designer

 TINA HERBECK

You may recognize Tina's work from the weekly challenges she has participated in. She has been chosen by the FCCB Design Team on several occasions for her wonderful creations. Check out Tina's blog  The Scrappin Rabbit. It's aptly named for her professed love of bunnies. Let's get to know Tina  a little better.  She is a Christian, a wife, a mother of 2 beautiful children, a voice teacher, a singer, a Girl Scout leader and an animal lover (bunnies). One busy lady, but she still finds time to enjoy crafting.

Here are some examples of Tina's versatile crafting style.  I would say she is a true Cricuteer.

This is an adorable baby Card in a Box using the Baby Steps cartridge. Check out her blog to see more of these Card in Box creations.

I love the vintage style of this Thank You card using Lori's Garden Imagine cartridge.

Look at the details in this amazing Easel card. She used three different Cricut cartridges to make this one, Quarter Note, Playtime and Elegant Edges.

Lastly I couldn't resist sharing this Easter card with the cute bunnie. Tina used the Cricut Easter 2010 for this colorful card.

I asked Tina the following questions and here are her replies.

1. When did you start scrapbooking/papercrafting and why?
I've been papercrafting since childhood. I had a sticker collection and used to draw my own stationery to write notes to my friends. I discovered stamping and scrapbooking back in the 90's and even made my own wedding invitations. I got my first Cricut in 2006 and have been a scrap addict since!
2. What is your favorite type of project to make (i.e. cards, layouts, mini-albums, etc.)?
Lately my favorite projects have been cards but I do love Scrapbooking and hope to find the time to do more.
3. What is your favorite product to use on your projects?
My favorite products to use on my projects are my Cricut and Cuttlebug.
4. What is your favorite Cricut cartridge?
This is a tough question! I love all my cartridges but I guess if I had to choose my favorites would be my CTMH ones: Art Philosophy & Artiste.

Be sure to join us on Monday to see Tina's post for our Monday Challenge and link up your own

I just want to thank FCCB for inviting me to be a guest designer this week.  I really enjoy participating in the challenges and it was so much fun to be able provide some inspiration for last week's challenge.

I have one final project for you today and I used the Art Nouveau cartridge to create it.  Hmm, I seem to have a new favorite since I used it for both my projects as guest designer.  Well, I hope you enjoy.

Thanks again to everyone at FCCB for the opportunity and be sure to visit my blog, Craft with Bee.

Spotlight Sunday

Hello!  It’s time to meet this week’s Sunday Spotlight guest designer!

This week, we are thrilled to have Paula from Craft with Bee join us.  Here is a little bit of information about Paula.

I first started scrapbooking about nine years ago, just after I got married.  I wanted to make a scrapbook for my wedding and one for the photos from our honeymoon.  I have since branched out into card making and more general papercrafting (like making home decor or gift bags/boxes).  In fact, I tend to do both of those more than scrapbooking now.

My favorite type of project to make is probably cards.  I tend to do more card making than anything else right now since cards tend to be quick, easy, and you can never have too many in your stash.  However I also love making home decor, I just don't tend to make as much of that since I pretty much have to have a reason to make something.  Like right now I am in the process of working on some wall art for my best friend's nursery.

My favorite product to use on my projects, besides the Cricut (because that is pretty much a given), is probably Stickles, glitter, flocking, or glossy accents.  I love adding just that little extra to give a card or layout some dimension or texture.  I also love to use my Cuttlebug and add some sort of dry embossing to my projects, but I don't use it near as much as the others mentioned.

Picking a favorite Cricut cartridge is incredibly hard.  I love to use so many and a lot will depend on the types of project I am working on.  However, here are basically the top five that I seem to use the most when creating: Birthday Bash, Create a Critter, Campin' Critters, Elegant Edges, & George and Basic Shapes.

Here are a few projects Paula has created recently, including two she won Top 5 mentions for:

Be sure to stop by Paula's blog HERE to check out her other great creations, and come back tomorrow to see what she and the rest of the design team have created for our next weekly challenge!

Spotlight Sunday

Hello!  It’s time to meet this week’s Sunday Spotlight designer.

This week we are thrilled to have Katie from KatieO’s join us.  Here's a little bit of information from Katie:

I started scrapbooking after my daughter was born in 1990.  I kept it up for a few years, then after my third child, I began card-making.  Cards and 3D projects are my favorite projects to create. My favorite products to use on my card are embossed backgrounds and 3D  embellishments.  I have been making a lot of dimensional flowers using Flower Shoppe.

Here are a few projects Katie has created recently, including one she won a top 5 mention for:

Katie has so many great creations - be sure to stop by her blog to check them out! And don't forget to come back tomorrow to see what Katie and the rest of the design team has created for the new challenge!

Hello!  This Spotlight Sunday marks the end of Marilyn's week as Guest Designer here at FCCB.  The DT would like to thank Marilyn again for being a guest designer!!  Before we say our final goodbye, Marilyn has a few parting words and one more project to share.

Hi, this is Marilyn Caro from Who ;Dat Scrapper and I just want to say thank you to Heather with http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com for inviting me to be a guest designer. I truly enjoyed being part of the team and sharing my projects with everyone. When I am not scrapbooking you can find me doing my daily routine(cleaning), doing part time work for my husband's business, sitting at my computer catching up with the 95+ blogs I follow or watching crafting you tube videos.
I hope everyone enjoyed seeing my projects at FCCB. If you would like to see more of my projects, please visit my blog at http://whodatscrapper.blogspot.com Before I leave, I would like to show one more card that I made for my grandson. I use the Paper Doll Dress Up Cricut cartridge for the boy scout and the rest are from Mambi Sticks stickers from Hobby Lobby. I mounted the stickers on cardstock and cut around them to give them more stability.
