All sorts...

I laid out all my Stained pieces yesterday afternoon, and found that I was only one small piece short, so I was rather pleased and surprised at myself for that...

I ended up bagging each individual block separately, as I was anticipating a bit of a muddle and continual need to re-lay the whole lot out if I wasn't completely organised.

Whilst listening to my two buddies, Rhonda and Cindy chatting away on the latest Quilter In The Gap podcast (so funny!), I cut all the block sashing too, so I am now ready to start the sewing at last.

One thing I must say, cutting up on the kitchen worktop was so much better than hunching over the dining table.  OK so you are all saying 'yes obviously, didn't you know?', but I don't think I have ever had to cut so many pieces in one session, and I am so pleased I thought of it before rather than after!

***Edited 5th May 2012 - you will not be able to subscribe to the following magazine - probably best to just buy copies you find in the shops; should it be resurrected from Administration - do not risk your money ***

Yesterday I also received the first issue of Modern Quilting in the mail; it's fantastic.

I spent my first flick through saying - "I know her, and her and her", so I felt kind of 'in with the in-crowd', but it really looks like a great magazine, with or without friends in high places.

Look there's Brit Bee Judith D in the scarf!

Hopefully later today I will get the chance to actually read it rather than just grin at all the lovely pictures; who knows, I may even get to make something.

The sun is shining, and I suspect a stroll to get the paper will be in order shortly; Spring is in the air, happy Sunday everyone x

Awesome August!

A whole month of school holidays passed by in a flash!  So here I am again linking up with Lily's Quilts and Fresh Sewing Day.

We took a week away near Weymouth and had another week of family time, but I still managed to clock up a few finishes in August.

Firstly, I was able to reveal the mini-quilt prize I made for Rhonda at the end of July...

There were Bee blocks for Sarah...

... and also an eventual finish with a zip! ...

Phone cases...

Hexies...

... and a little Mystery...

A mini prezzie for Lizzie...

FWQAL blocks at long last...

... and my first 241 Tote...

I was lucky enough to win some lovely fabric from both Lizzie and Renee & Yvonne, plus a Jelly Roll from Mandy at Simply Solids; I got a spot on Rhonda's podcast and Cindy's Name Game, and also won a place in Pings' Japanese Scrap Bag Challenge!!

Some wonderful pressies came my way too...

There was the start of the Across the Sea QAL...

... and also a little shopping and behind the scenes preparation for my November Bee blocks (Mwaah ha ha - so excited!), and quite a bit of secrecy with Project 51, which I am so proud to say can be revealed really soon.

Oh, and this bargain baby...

I have to admit that even I am surprised at how much I was able to fit in!

September is going to be an even busier month, with Goodie swaping, QALs and the competition to make for.  School will be back and the girls will be starting for the first time on Tuesday!  I go back to work next week too and I'm shattered just thinking about it.

Anyone got any energy going spare, I think I am going to need extra!

A Winner!!!

Without further ado...

Tempted obviously as I am to do a re-draw, as this means I've got to go and listen to the podcast all over again to make sure I get it right, I think I am going to have fun with this one!  Congratulations my friend x

Rhonda's son is getting married today, so lets hope this is the start of a wonderful day for the Mother of the Groom.

Thank you everyone for joining in, and making it all feel worthwhile; I've had a great first year, and here's to many more x

I've been Rhonda'd!!

If you go down to the Gap today, you are sure of a big surprise!

In today's podcast, by my super crazy friend Rhonda (with an 'h'), you will find out more than you ever wanted or needed to know about me!

Yep, I agreed to let Rhonda 'interview' me and how could I resist, if only to get an American to say Leicestershire and Worcestershire!!!  It was really good fun to compile the answers, and strangely enjoyable to have them read back over the computer.  My children kept saying 'she's talking about you, that's your name."  I am now their 'famous mum'!

Please pop over and have a listen, and have a good scoot round Rhonda's blog; I guarantee you'll be back for the next podcast to hear all about the wedding; I've got my hat ready and everything!

And yes Rhonda, you can put my name down for the quiltalong x

In other news, I ordered my Rainbow Swap 'Blues' from Sew Me Happy last night...

I seem to have a thing about Jenean Morrison's California Dreamin', as last time I picked the pink Yosemite, and this time Santa-Rosa...

... and to make sure I wasn't getting too close to the turquoise buyers, a nice bit of Denyse Schmidt's Hope Valley Diamond Dandy New Day...

Now, at the risk of getting a bit repetitive, and it's only Tuesday, but especially if you have popped over from Rhonda's today, please stay a while and maybe enter my blogiversary giveaway.

Happy listening everyone xx
