Chew Jetty Penang Chiak.

If you are around Petaling Jaya or Kuala Lumpur and  craves for Penang's
street food -Chew Jetty Penang Chiak is the place to go.

Located  in a quite run down area in Desa Aman Puri,Kepong.

The simple decor is quite pleasing to the eyes.

Food are quite authentic and seem that some of the chefs are from Penang.

Service is good and  prices are affordable.

Chuup @ Damansara Jaya.

So many good reviews on Chuup makes me curious.

Some let it sound so delicious about their home cooking style food.

Well different people have different taste.

A lot  of recycled wood and utensils are used in the decor.

For our lunch we went for their normal dishes - Nasi Lemak
with pork rendang - the sambal was too sweet.

Nyonya Curry Laksa - thick  creamy coconut milk -like the taste of daun  kesum.

Prawn Mee -  way too sweet but ingredients were fresh.

Pork satay -over grilled until charred -well marinated but too sweet.

Overall the food is commendable but needs  some tweaking.

Prawn Mee@Kampar.

To me breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

It gives me the energy to "kick start" the day.

On outstation trip, the fun is waking up early to find food to fill my stomach
especially hawker's stalls or coffee shops near busy wet market.

Kampar town is full of good food all through out the day and night.

Breakfast @ Wing Lok Yuen Coffee Shop (famous for it's original and
legendary charcoal fired Clay pot Chicken rice in the night) of Prawn
Mee with braised pig's trotter, tofu, pig's intestine and pork ribs as a side dish was delicious.

The Prawn mee soup is not as robust unlike others-light prawn taste with not too
much of red chillies scummed oil-beansprouts, sliced fish cake, fresh shrimps, Chinese chives and
rice vermicelli.

The braised stuffs were well braised- tender ribs/pig's trotter and soft tofu.

Parking is OK.

Prawn Mee-Rm3.80/.

Braised stuffs.

Lammeeya-1 Utama.

Lammeeya is located in 1 Utama Shopping Mall, Petaling Jaya.

The white decor with photos of their signature dishes on one side of the wall gives the place a clean and refreshing look.

Besides their signature dish of Lam Mee, there are others favorite local snacks and noodles.

I, particularly like their thick Soy milk drink which is smooth and fragrant.

Overall the noodles served here are average and nothing to shout about.

Prawn Mee set- thin yellow noodle, crunchy beansprout, leafy kangkong (water convolvulus), firm fish paste and four juicy prawns-broth was average-Rm13.80/

Original Lam Mee-thick round yellow noodle, firm fish paste, shredded chicken meat, juicy prawn and blanched Chinese long cabbage-the tasty broth was not too sticky-Rm7.50/

Nyonya Curry Mee set-thin yellow noodle, crunchy beansprout, juicy prawn and topped with a dollop of Sambal chillies, a slice of lemon and sprigs of mint leaves-the curry broth was a bit diluted but spicy-Rm17/.

Side dish of set meal-Deep fried foo chuk (fish paste stuffed bean curd sheet)-crispy!.

Side dish for set meal-deep fried dumpling-crispy with a golden brown crust.

Total bill:Rm60/

PRAWN MEE-RESTORAN KAM HEONG

Prawn mee or "hae mee" was originated from Penang. This prawn mee stall is a house hold name
, i have been patronizing this stall since my schooling days. For me this is the best prawn mee stall in the whole of P. Jaya, no doubt about it. The broth is the killer! full of prawn flavor. The owner told me that everyday he wakes up at 2 a.m. to go to the Selayang market to buy the freshest prawn to make his broth. His prawn mee is authentic, no frills like pig tail, pork ribs .......etc the main noodles used are yellow noodle and rice vermicelli and the main ingredients are slices of boiled lean loin eye muscle pork, slices of small prawn, kangkung(water spinach), beansprouts, deep fried shallots and some fried lard plus the best chillies sambal aound. Side orders are hard boiled egg and whole prawns.

It is located at Restoran Kam Heong in P.Jaya New Town Centre besides UOB bank.
