My friend Michael has been raising money for whatever venture he is getting into these days. I'm not sure what type of card or memorabilia is intriguing him at this moment, but I was able to benefit from one of his sales recently when I picked up this 2006 UD Legendary Cuts Pee Wee Reese. He, as always, had a real good price on the card, and I wanted to help him out.
I think Michael has kind of abandoned his Reese PC, which, I don't blame him. Not a lot of new stuff is being issued for Reese and a lot of his vintage stuff carries a premium since he was a Brooklyn Dodger. Still, I figured I would take this card since he is a Hall of Famer, and it is a printing plate. I might be able to flip it later on for something interesting.
Thanks for the quick and easy deal, Michael!

Ebay Pickup - 2013 Topps Mini Chris Davis Plate
I picked up a nice addition to my Chris Davis PC when I got this 2013 Topps Mini Chris Davis printing plate. I thought I had a couple of these already, but that was the regular sized printing plate. I have two of those now. I didn't realize until now that I didn't have many of the mini parallels, so once the smoke settles from Christmas, I will have to add some of them.
It's funny that Chris Davis's printing plates really don't cost all that much. With him being as big a star as he has been for the O's, you would think someone other than me would be picking them up. Oh well, that leaves more for me!

Christmas Gift From Frankie
I got an awesome Christmas package in the other day from my good friend, Frankie from the blog "My Life In The Sportscard Hobby". I met Frankie last year through my good friend, Drew. Frankie and I did a couple trades, then we spent a lot of time together at this past year's National walking around and enjoying the show. Frankie is a really good guy, but I did not in any way expect that he would land this kind of gift on me.
Above is an awesome 2013 Topps Pro Debut Sonny Gray printing plate. This is the cyan plate. Also of note, Gray appears as a RockHound on this card. My son, Chris, was a RockHound for two seasons, and had a very special time on those teams. So, I think it is really cool to have this card with Gray in the RockHounds uniform!
Frankie included a few Orioles cards as well, most notably this Cal Ripken from 2015 Topps Hi Tek that I didn't yet have in my collection. The card is numbered 48/50 and is acetate. Frankie must have read the several posts of mine where I discuss how much I love acetate cards!
Thank you so much for the awesome Christmas gifts, Frankie! I really appreciate it!

Ebay Pickup - 2013 Topps Chris Davis Graded Printing Plate
I picked up a bit of a steal (I'll come back to that in a minute) on Ebay when I got this really cool 2013 Topps Chris Davis graded printing plate. The plate is the cyan version (I already had one of the other plates, but I forget the color). It has been graded by BGS, as you can see, and has a 9 grade. This, from what I've been told, it a really good grade for a plate.
This card was on my watch list on Ebay for a while, but no on picked it up. Finally, the price dropped, and I snatched it up.
Total shipped, I spent $6.79 on this plate. Not bad, right?
I feel like I did pretty well on it, considering raw plates of Davis go around $40 or $50. I don't know how I got this steal (well, maybe I do, it was a bid auction, not a Buy It Now), but I am really happy that I did.

Working on a Rainbow
As I continue to work toward getting some kind of rainbow completed of one of my PC guys, I picked up a couple 2014 Topps Mini cards off of Ebay recently. They were versions of card number 47; the Chris Davis checklist commemorating him hitting 30 homers and 90 RBI before the all star break.
I already had the base and platinum 1/1 versions of this card, so, when I found a printing plate and a pink numbered 9/25, I went ahead and grabbed them. I was more worried that the printing plate would disappear on me, for obvious reasons, so I had a saved search going for that. I immediately jumped on it when I saw it.
I was told that I have the gold on the way, from my friend, Michael. The black parallel numbered to 5 will be a tough find. I hope to get one of them soon, and I have another saved search to help me out.
I may also bust a box of 2014 Mini at some point. They always seem to be affordable, and are a fun product to break.

Ebay Pickup - Another Chris Davis 2015 Topps Printing Plate
I found another Chris Davis printing plate from 2015 Topps on Ebay, so I had to pick it up. This one cost a lot more than the black printing plate I got the other day, but I was ok with it. From what I understand, it takes four printing plates to make a card, black, yellow, magenta and cyan. I now have black and magenta, so I could quite possibly land the other two if I see them available. It would be really cool to have the "rainbow" of printing plates, but I am not holding my breath. I will keep an eye out, nonetheless.

Ebay Pickup - 2015 Topps Chris Davis Black Printing Plate
I picked up a nice addition to my Davis PC recently when I found this 1/1 black printing plate on Ebay. I was able to get it at a pretty good price via auction, and it came in the mail today.
I still need to find a platinum 1/1 of Davis somewhere so I can have some hope of completing a rainbow. I doubt that day will come, since those platinums are so hard to find. Anyway, I can take comfort in the fact that I landed a plate for the collection, and one that looks really cool. The best part is, I actually was able to win another plate of Davis from 2015 Topps, the magenta, and it should be here any day.

Ebay Pickup - 2014 Bowman Chrome Chris Davis Printing Plate
Finding stuff in my "to be blogged" pile that I can write about isn't tough. It's even nicer when I have single cards that I picked up that I can blog about quickly and easily after a long day. Today is one of those days.
I worked almost 12 hours today and I am wiped. Instead of skipping an entry tonight, I can just show off this 1/1 printing plate from 2014 Bowman Chrome of Chris Davis that I picked up recently.
I would love to go for the rainbow, but I missed out on the superfractor recently when it sold on EBay for $115. Maybe it'll pop up next time. Anyway, I got a good deal on this one, and just barely missed out on the red parallel.
Bowman Chrome was a great product this past year, as you are all aware. I plan on getting all of Davis's parallels for this, and who knows, maybe even the superfractor, if it ever comes back online.

Recent Ebay Pickups
I did some buying on EBay recently and a few of the items have come in over the last few days. Instead of burying them in my "to be blogged pile", I figured I would combine them and try to move a few things along.
The above 2014 Topps Mini printing plate of Chris Davis was on my watch list for a while, so I went ahead and picked it up for $16 shipped. Not bad for a plate. I wish it was the checklist version, though, since I have the platinum 1/1. Oh well, I'm hoping I find it, or the platinum 1/1 of this card.
For a couple bucks, I grabbed this Irv Noren from 1959 Topps. This is card #59 and was actually very hard to search for until I figured out who was actually on the card. It's in great shape and will go nicely into my set. I am under 100 cards remaining for this set, and I really would like to finish it off this year.
I bought this 1955 Bowman Chuck Bednarik football card with the hope of sending it to him for a TTM autograph, but he sent it back to me RTS. Oh well, I went to the well too many times on him, since I was successful a few years ago. He has been up and down health-wise lately, so that is more important. I hope he is doing well, as he is 89 years old now.
Finally, I needed this 2014 Topps Stadium Club Chris Davis for my PC, so I got it when I bought a few of his other cards a while back. It was at the bottom of my pile, so I was happy to go ahead and get it scanned and posted. I love Stadium Club, and this card of Davis is a real nice one. I just wish he would stop with the chewing tobacco.

Another Day, Another Chris Davis 1/1
I completed a trade on Instagram the other day when I sent a guy named Michael (who's Instagram name is sportscards_infinity) a 2014 Bowman Gold Refractor auto of Daniel McGrath in exchange for the above Chris Davis 2013 Topps printing plate. This is the yellow plate.
I was glad to add this to my collection, which now has 13 different versions. I still, obviously, need the 1/1 platinum parallel. I always enjoy getting the printing plates. One of these days, I need to count up how many plates I have, but I know I have a bunch.

Ebay Pickup - 2013 Bowman Alex Murphy Printing Plate
I apologize for not posting yesterday, but I was at a MiLB game with my good friend, Ryan. I got home today and had too much to do to be able to post my recap, so look for that tomorrow. In the meantime, take a look at this 2013 Bowman Alex Murphy printing plate.
I got this plate off of Ebay for $9.99 BIN, which was a steal! Murphy is doing pretty well at Low A Aberdeen, even though the team isn't playing well at all right now. So far, this season, Murphy has played 16 games in Aberdeen and 4 at Delmarva. In all, he is batting .274 with 2 homers and 7 RBIs. Not terrible, but he needs to pick it up some more. I think he'll be fine, since this is his first full MiLB season.

Instagram Pickup - 2008 Topps Chris Davis RC Printing Plate
I made a quick and easy deal on Instagram the other day with a kid named Ryan. I saw that he had posted this 2008 Topps Chris Davis RC printing plate for sale for $40.00 shipped, so I had to jump on it. I think I had seen this several months ago on Ebay and let it slip away, so I wanted to make sure I didn't let that happen this time around.
The plate is pretty cool, as all plates are. It is the Cyan plate. Thanks for the super easy deal, Ryan, I hope we can trade again!

Ebay Pickup - 2014 Topps Chris Davis Printing Plate
I got a good deal on Ebay the other day when I got this 2014 Topps Chris Davis printing plate for just over $30. I really needed it if I was going to pursue the rainbow. I already have the purple, clear and a couple of the other variations. I lost out on the blank back, which went off the other day at $121. Yeah, I'm not going to spend that much. I just saw that the 2012 blank back was listed on Ebay, so I figure maybe I'll see the '14 again. I may even go after the '12. I would like to complete one rainbow at some point, but those true 1/1 cards really kick my butt.
Anyway, this printing plate is really cool. I actually have a quite a few printing plates in my various PCs, so they're not too tough to come by. I'm still glad I got it and at such a good price.

Ebay Pickup - 2010 Topps Brian Roberts Printing Plate
For $20, I picked up a 1/1 card I needed for my 2010 Topps Brian Roberts rainbow. $20 is really not bad for a printing plate if you think about it. I know, printing plates really aren't 1/1s, what, with the 4 or 5 colors represented. You know what I mean: Black, Yellow, Cyan, etc. This one is the Yellow printing plate, but I did need a printing plate for the rainbow and I now have it. I would really love to be able to land the Platinum 1/1, but I have yet to see it. I still kick myself for letting the Platinum Reimold out of my sights. Dang.
Anyway, sorry for the short post, but I'm exhausted after a long day of work, so I'm cutting myself off early and heading to bed. I hope you all have enjoyed my PC additions, because there are still more to come!

I added another cool piece to my Nolan PC recently when I picked up this 2013 Topps Nolan Reimold printing plate. It is the Cyan plate and i was tipped off to it by my buddy, Ryan. I got it for $7.50 (AMAZING!!!), which has to be the cheapest I've ever gotten a printing plate. Well, you know, other than pulling it from a pack.

Ebay Pickup - 2012 Topps Mini Nolan Reimold Black Printing Plate
No, this is not a repeat post. I now own 2, count em, 2 Nolan Reimold 2012 Topps Mini Printing Plates. But they're 1/1 you might be thinking... Yes, in a sense, they are. However, several printing plates are needed in order to print an actual baseball card. 4 or 5 if I am not mistaken (someone please correct me if I am). I posted the Cyan printing plate on November 10, 2012. You can read about it here.
If you are a regular reader, you will know that my Nolan Reimold collection has become quite epic. Nolan is one of my favorite Orioles and I have had a 'cup of coffee', so to speak, interaction with him. My signed photo of Nolan and I together, along with my signed batting gloves, are top pieces in my overall collection. I am rooting hard for Nolan to break out this year. Of course, I would be happy with a decent year, just so long as he is injury free. Nolan is a great guy with an awesome family. I really hope he can bounce back from his injuries sustained last year and build a successful career in Baltimore. He has a ton of fans, including this 'mega' fan.

2012 Topps Mini Nolan Reimold Printing Plate
I made a surprise discovery oon Ebay a couple days ago when I saw that someone had the Topps Mini Printing Plate of Nolan Reimold listed for $20.
I jumped all over it when I saw it. $20 for a printing plate that I definitely needed for my PC? You know it. I really didn't think I would be able to add any of the 1/1's from 2012 to my 'Reimold Rainbow', but I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. I'd like to add some plates from his other years as well, but it is a matter of finding them, and being able to afford them.
I'd write more, but I'm still wore out from last night's Who concert in Greensboro. What an awesome show! I've now seen them twice, once in 1989 in St. Louis and again last night in Greensboro.

Some Hits From The Shop
I was able to put some time in on Saturday at the shop, and opened a few packs. I did pretty well, I think...
I got a Shin Soo Choo printing plate out of a pack of 206. Not too bad. I always like pulling plates. I have now pulled two in the past month. I should maybe play the lottery...

I also bought a pack of 2010 Elite Extra Edition and got this nice auto. Too bad it's a Pittsburgh player; it's going to be real hard for me to keep track of this guy. You know, since we all know he'll be traded at some point.
Anyway, I did pretty well. I also got something else pretty awesome, but I'll share that tomorrow.

2010 Topps Pro Debut Series 2 Box Break With Max
Max and I have wated to bust something together for a while. We last busted a box of Topps finest and went halves on a box of 2010 Allen and Ginter. We couldn't decide, for the longest time, on what to bust. Finally, I saw the checklist for Pro Debut Series 2 and we settled on that. So, we each got a box and commenced to busting.
Each box was to feature 2 autographs, and one Futures Game relic, so we figured we'd be able to get some sweet hits, at a cheap price. We also liked that a lot of the players on the checklist were ones that we had seen this year at all the minor league games that we went to.
I ended up pulling this cut auto of Cameron Rupp. Not a bad card, I really like this cut auto, and I'm curious as to what card it was cut from...?

Speaking of players that I saw in person. Michael Montgomery = WOW. I saw him pitch for Wilmington against Kinston this year where he carried a no hitter into the 7th and struck out 17 batters. He's really good.
I pulled this awesome printing plate, too. Look, it still has ink on it! It has been a while since Ive pulled a plate. I'm probably going to hang onto this for a while.
I like the Futures Game relics in that they're so huge! I think all relic cards should be this big. Those little specks of bat or jersey just don't do it for me anymore.
I got another auto! Shane Peterson. Never hard of him, but thats the point of this set.
So, I ended up with: 3 autos, a gold Mike Montgomery, a relic and a printing plate. I also got a couple blue variations, but they weren't anyone spectacular. All in all, though, Max and I had a blast opening these boxes. I really like having these minor league cards and may take some with me to games next year for autos... not a bad idea.

Cards For Sale
Because my internet connection sucks worse than a Richard Gere movie, it is taking me a while to be able to get some cards listed on Ebay. I'm going to have to load my pics on my flash drive and do it from the office.
Anyway, I need to raise some cash, so I am selling a few random cards on Ebay. I am also selling all the cards my brother Andy pulled from his box of Topps Tribute. Here are some highlights of what I INTEND on listing tomorrow. Feel free to inspect them.
A 2009 Topps UH Matt Holliday Platinum parallel numbered 1/1. I forgot I even had this bad boy. I should be able to get a good bit from it, I hope. I hope to own the 2007 Topps Brian Roberts platinum one day.

Even though someone posted on here that this was not real, I assure you it is. My 2010 Topps Ike Davis pie face. I have seen this one averaging out to be $45 on ebay, perfect for me!!
Can't go wrong with printing plates. I have a couple, but I am going ahead and listing this one. 2008 Topps Stadium Club Josh Beckett Cyan printing plate. I also have a Sean Casey from a different set (can't remember which, I want to say Flair or Ovation? Not sure) and a 2007 Topps Pablo Ozuna. If anyone is interested in those, let me know via email.
Since Play at the Plate has claimed the Kinsler, I am putting the Varitek and Stephen Drew hat logo relics up for sale as well. I doubt I'll make a whole lot off of them, but every little bit helps. I have a new car payment and just too the cat to the emergency vet, do things are going to be tight for a while unless I sell a few things.
.
I also intend on, at some point, listing my 2007-2010 Topps commons on Sportlots. That way I have a little bit of card income coming in on a semi-regular basis. If any of you want to fill or start sets with any of these years I'll cut a sweet deal on the cards. I also have an extra set of 2010 Topps as well that can be had for the right price. That set is hand collated by me. Let me know!!!
.
If anyone is interested in any of the above items, I plan on listing them on Ebay around lunchtime tomorrow (11-12PM EST) and if you make me a reasonable enough offer beforehand, I may sell them outright, but I plan on, for the time being, doing auction style format. You may look me up on Ebay, I sell under the name Roaddogg57 (Ive had the account 11 years, give me a break).
.
Thanks guys!!
