Hollywood Teasze
Hollywood Teasze Germany’s One And Only Glam Punx came to live some time in the late 80’s under the draft / pseudonym “Teasze 'N' Roll”. Various line-up changes followed and by 1990 we would see the birth of one of the most iconic underground Punk Rock ensembles hailing from Germany. Over the following years the trio of chaos would release various demo tapes (remember: early 90s!!), world wide, with redistribution via a dedicated, devoted and active network of fanzines, later also webzines and emerging independent and underdog promoters, record labels, studios and agencies. Touring then was confined to travels a bondi blue Ford Escort and a motor bike. The limiting radius would proof no setback for the “Younglings” - nor did the landlord master-minded burning of their entire equipment and succeeding legal proceedings against latter (see back-page! of Bild Am Sonntag one day in the 90s - the Beer Crate Decision). By 1994 the boys were offered the opportunity for a recording and US distribution by Alabama based Delinquent Records. The resulting album “Glamdolls In Toyland” to this day has fans around the globe, primarily based on an incredible underground fanzine network. Andi Hill (GB) was to join and replace Harry LaBumm on drums in 1996, starting a hypnosis of endless touring and the release of the mighty and well respected longplayer “No Flakes”, with some rare vinyls still making the rounds. By 1999 the band had toured the following countries: Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, UK, US, Netherlands and Australia, with acts such as The Bates (GER), The Bollock Brothers (UK), Captain Sensible (& Punk Floyd / UK), The Trash Brats (US), and many more ... The intensity of touring became such that by the turn of the Millenium, and a subsequent show that night, would all but seal the band’s immediate fate ... exhaustion and fatigue set in and by May 2000 FrankEEE would leave the band and relocate to Australia. Several months later the band marched on with Matze on guitars replacing FrankEEE and enjoyed playing with their all time favorites The Sweet and Hanoi Rocks. By the time of this writing, the band has no official on-/ or offline outlet, however Chris Lakriz once commented: “I'd like to think Hollywood Teasze is like some kind of virus that you just can't get rid of. You think you're cured and you've got rid of us, then BOOM, we're back!!” Let’s see...
