little lovelies from Katie Daisy
I love ringing in the summer season with bright colors and floral motifs such as that of Katie Daisy and her shop The Wheatfield. Katie uses a wide variety of techniques and materials to create her lovely prairie-inspired artwork that is chock-full of optimism. Oftentimes featuring empowering and uplifting hand lettered phrases, Katie's artwork serves as a gentle reminder for us to live authentically and follow our bliss.

Inalux
If you read Kristina Sostarko's profile on etsy, I'm sure you'd fall in love with her personality and work just like I did! She is a talent who mixes fine art/modern illustration/textile and texture into this undefined modern eclectic style. I have to say it's addicting to look at! see what i mean at her shop and blog.

Spring Flings
The birds are chirping and the sun is awaking....this morning I put on my spring coat and didn't have to bother putting a snowsuit and hat on Zoe. I felt like it was "safe" to start getting inspired by spring, even though I'm sure we'll still see snow again. It's time to crawl out of hibernation and celebrate vibrancy so I thought i'd put together a few colorful faves for you to get inspired with....

LOVEly things
Only a few more weeks until you can unload your heart to the one you love! Here are a few different takes on the Valentine...
my mom and dad have this thing where they take a little plastic bug and hide it on each other for a little surprise out of the blue, it's just a little thing they do to show each other they are thinking of them...i guess in a weird, creepy kind of way..lol here is a way less creepy way from Poketo, i love this capsule letter idea, this could be something that could go on and on all year, wouldn't it be lovely to find an "i love you today" note hidden in your sock drawer one morning! makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
Remember how special you felt when your love gave you his/hers most coveted music on a mixed tape (for me it was a cassette tape!) well why not keep that musical flame burning with a "mixed disk" card from tea and company! i love the un teraditional colors, sometimes pink on pink on red gets a little old every year!
For a more "hopless romantic" take on the valentine here are some little Love Token Hearts by Nina Glaser. They are made from clay and covered with paper mache book page strips. Each one is coated with a thin layer of gloss for a hint of shine and measures 2.75" x 2.75" at its widest points. Each heart comes ready for gift giving with a mini white envelope, tied in ribbon, and placed inside a gift box! now thats romantic!

A collection a day
The wonderfully talented, lisa congdon, has a new project under her wings that you can follow first hand through her new blog. A collection a day is dedicated to documenting a year long project where lisa will take a photo each day of a "collection" whether it be a group of real materials or a drawing/painting of an imagined collection. I'm super excited to see how this progresses!

paper chandelier
tis the season for decorations. as we "fall" into the celebration season, people are coming up with some wonderful handmade decorations. one i've been seeing everywhere is the paper chandelier. not sure if it's a polish tradition but the first time i saw this was from wren handmade's blog last january stating she got an original from a polish festival. if anyone cares to enlighten me on this paper fantasy, please do.
