First 40

Once I read from a friend's Facebook post: "during the first 40 years of our lives, we are busy working and earning as much money as we could... and the next 40, spending all the money to keep ourselves healthy."

I think that there's much truth to that even if I am not even close to the first half of the years the author was talking about. Well, at least that is how I'd like to count my age.

As convinced as I am, there has been a lot of attempts to keep myself healthy for the last 10 years. It is good to know that there were times when I almost got there but really they did not last long enough to make me spend the first 40 years of my life staying healthy.

Right now, I am sitting on a bench watching people who are working hard jogging, running, biking and walking. Some of them look less than 40 and some way beyond 40. I'd like to think that whether they are on the first half or second, they are doing this to not spend all the hard earned money for the health related expenses. That's the same reason I am watching them now. I am resting and spending a bit of "me time" before I head back home from a 45 minutes jog-walk. I hope I can do this more often and be able to say my own version of that Facebook post later.

God is always there in your heart

Another nice post from a friend's wall on Facebook.

"A teenage girl about 17 had gone to visit some friends one evening and time passed quickly as each shared their various experiences of the past year. She ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn’t afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away. As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Diane asked God to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he was waiting for her. She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for God’s protection. Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely. The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there. Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep. Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station. She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story. The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before. When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed. The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her. She asked if they would ask the man one question. Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her. When the policeman asked him, he answered, “Because she wasn’t alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her.” Amazingly, whether you believe or not, you’re never alone. " Did you know that 98% of teenagers will not stand up for God? Repost this as Love vs. Sex if you truly believe in God.
PS: God is always there in your heart and loves you no matter what and if you stand up for him he will stand up for you. I bet 93% of the people that read this wont repost it. I read this and reposted it. Well I bet you read this note because of the title, didn’t you. *GOD IS MOVING!* :) *Share it to everyone! feel free to copy-paste OR share this note. This is not a private note. Repost it even if you're not a teenager."

God is always there in your heart.

Prayer

One of the reasons I enjoy "facebooking" is because I read a lot of nice things on people's walls. Today, I am blessed to come across a prayer that I believe is very nice and I shared it to my friends as well.

"DEAR FATHER, we are so tired and desperate for Your help. Our needs are great and we don't know what to do except turn to You. All we know is to cry out to You because we know that Your Love is great and big enough to fix all the healing our Hearts and World needs. Our hearts are broken. Use us Lord to help others in need. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen! Simply hit Share to encourage others today ♥"

When things are so challenging and problems are so draining, Jesus is there to water us with His grace.

Three youths arrested for posting racist remarks on Facebook

As I open the door for my husband this morning, he handed me the newspaper on the page which says "Three youths arrested for posting racist remarks on Facebook".

Facebooking as I said has become one of my past times and so I immediately read the news post. It's not that I do such thing (like posting racist or mean remarks online) but I wanted to find out the details. Apparently, three Chinese youths, aged between 17 and 18, have been arrested for posting racist remarks on Facebook. I read on and found out that under Singapore's Sedition Act, anyone found guilty of promoting feeling of ill-will and hostility between different races can be fined up to $5000 and/or jailed up to three years if he is a first-time offender.

It's nice to know that there are certain rules that control the possible abuse that anyone can do when using the Internet.

Have a great day ahead!

I usually wake up early during Saturday mornings because it's my schedule for buying groceries and stuff we will need for the coming week. It’s been an hour since I woke up yet I’m still in front of the computer looking at pictures on FaceBook and waiting for people to get online on Yahoo Messenger.

I feel very lazy going out today. Gab and his dad are still sleeping. Maybe I should start moving because when they wake up, we should have breakfast and get ready to go out and get Gab a haircut.

I hope we all have a great day ahead!

Could she be denying our friendship?

I have this friend from grade school. We were very close until we lost contact some few years ago. Since I moved to Manila for our board exam review, I never got the chance to catch up with her. I just heard that she got married and that she already has kids and that some few years ago, she was nowhere anyone of us (her friends) could reach.

I felt very excited when I found out one day that she got herself a Facebook account. I sent a friend request along with a message that I miss her and that I've been trying to find ways on how I can talk to her.

It's been months now and she hasn't confirmed our friendship. Is she too busy to click on the accept button? Could it be that she never accessed her account since the day I tried to add her as my friend?

I'd like to think that I'm being overly emotional and that she's really not denying our friendship. But, I feel sad. How would you feel if I were you?

been busy with facebook

i have been busy using facebook to find friends and get in touch with them once again. i used to use friendster to know their whereabouts and stuff, but it seems that nowadays, most of my contacts are no longer using friendster. i wonder why. i still visit my friendster page, but just to keep track of my contacts, i signed up for facebook.

still not familiar with a lot of features of the social network site but i'm getting used to it. i enjoy looking at the old pictures. and the chat feature, i like it a lot. i get to chat and get real time replies from my friends when i see them online wherever they are.

well... guess i'm almost done searching about them... maybe i'll be back at my facebook page often to let them know about my whereabouts this time. :-)
