Spring Birdhouse

Happy Saturday my pretty butterflies!  This is Crafting Marfa today!  Spring is here and so are craft projects!  You all know by now my love affair with birdhouses, so it shouldn't surprise you to see that one of my first spring projects is, of course, a birdhouse!  During the entire month of March the Design Teams for both Gina's Designs and Craftsupplies1 are having a collaboration.  We each get to work with both companies' amazing products.  I am the luckiest girl ever to get to create with such beautiful products.  This time I am sorry for my mother but she is not keeping this birdhouse :-D  It is going to be somewhere where I can look at it often!

Scroll down for a video and then a list of supplies!

Altered Projects by Heidi and Deann

We have two projects to share on the blog today.  First up is Heidi.

Hello, Heidi here!  I had to share one more Valentine Project that I did for Gina's Designs.  This is my valentine box- used to collect valentine's at work.  It is actually a tangerine crate that I covered with white paper and then pink heart embossed paper.  I used a variety of the Gina's Designs Valentine chippies.

On the far left I have used a little pink heart and another white heart from the Cupid Shape Set. On the front of the box is a solid heart and then a white double heart(Valentine Shape Set).  All my chippies were painted with spray paint.
Then there is the little cherub, painted white and he is shooting hearts that I painted in variegated pink and red paints.  In the background you can see the two pink/white straws holding up the doily with a couple more hearts.   This was definitely a hit!

Next up is Deann.

Good Morning , Deann here with a DT project for Gina's Deaigns.
I started with a paper mache book box that I found at JoAnn Fabrics .
I covered the outside of the box with a brown paper bag that had vintage adds printed on it.
Next I tore a piece of corrugated cardboard to fit most of the top. I painted it with gesso then rubbed Vintage photo distress ink to the raised areas and sprayed all of it with
Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist.
On top of the corrugated cardboard I used a piece of the Mad Tea Party paper
from Marion Smith.
Once the base of the box was done , it was time to add the goodies !
Lots of leaves and flowers. A little lace and lots of Chip board pieces.
I'll have a list of all the chip board I used at the end of the post.

 Thanks for stopping bye :)

A Mixed Media Layout by Melissa and Project Life by Heidi

We have two projects to share today, first up is Melissa:

Hi, it's Melissa here with my latest project for Gina's Designs.  I used these gorgeous wings as the main feature to frame the photo. I loved decorating them because they look so real and detailed, and so beautiful. I used texture paste on them, followed by several layers of lumiere paints. I added the little frog for fun and because my husband likes them.

Here is Heidi with a simple project to embellish your project life pages:

Hello everyone, Heidi here with something a little different.  Are any of you participating in Project Life or at least similar type memory keeping? I am working on a project and thought that I could use some of Gina's Designs products on these little cards.  So here I have made 2- 3x4 in cards and 1- 4x6 card.  I kept these cards clean and simple but had a great time with the chipboard pieces.  These will easily slip into my protectors.

A Double Layout by Kathi and a Wall Hanging by Angela

It's Kathi here to share a double layout I created by pairing Gina's Designs chipboard shapes and The Robin's Nest papers.  The title of this layout is "I'm So Glad My Heart Found You".

The papers I used were the "Dark Distress Red", and "Classic Roses" from the Wild About U Collection.  Our Gina's Designs Valentine themed chipboard shapes are a perfect fit to go with the papers.  I used the lips & the fancy heart from the Valentine Shape Set, and  added a string along heart to the left side of the photo mat and I used two pieces from The Robin's Nest embellishment page by cutting out the fancy journaling spot that goes with the paper collection. To the left side of the layout I placed a tall valentines card that was given to his wife. A few months after Feb 14 his life was cut short due to a freak accident while on vacation. The sentiment said "I'm so glad my heart found you",  Love Cliff. I then framed the layout so she can hang it on her wall.

This is the second page of the layout. I used the paper "Valentine Hearts" & "Classic Roses" on this one. The tag is from the embellishment page. From Gina's Store I used the Cupids from the "Cupid Shape Set". Both were painted with white gesso then stamped with Fire Brick Red Distress Ink using music notes. The love sign was also painted with white gesso. I placed a red piece of paper behind the sign & placed it on the tag.  The three hearts from the "Valentine Shape Set" were prepared using embossing ink and UTEE.
The string along love is out of the "String Along - Hearts".  I painted it red then white/clear glitter was added. I then added a 4 X 6 photo mat & a large wooden heart. The large heart was raised up using foam dots in order to insert a photo behind.  The red heart inside is removable to use as a template to size the photo to slip behind the heart.

Mini Display Tray with The Robin's Nest

Hi there everyone, it's Shanna here.  I know we are getting closer to Valentines Day and I am excited to share a new project with you I created using Gina's Designs products and The Robin's Nest!

I love how this mini display tray turned out. You can load it up with tons of embellishments or keep it simple like I did to give to someone.

I painted all my chipboard with the red paint and let it dry then dabbed on the silver paint.

I gave everything a good coat of crackle accents to add more texture to this creation.

I couldn't help adding a little something to the flowers too!

Items Used:
Gina's Designs

Brushed Pewter and Barn Door Distress Paint
Crackle Accents
Wild Orchid Crafts Flowers
