The Experiment Bears Fruit

Over the weekend, after a series of random tracks, The Experiment has led me to one solid conclusion - Run DMC still rules!

Laughing at the Experiment

This morning The Experiment threw me a curve ball – comedy. I had forgotten how much stand-up I have in my library. So I go from Run DMC to David Cross. I love listening to comedy, but people look at you funny when you laugh out loud on a crowded train. Oops. Also, it’s not that great to listen to on the train. So I’ll be weeding out the spoken word tracks for now.

The Experiment Continues

Almost two weeks into The Experiment, and I’m not sure if I can call it a success yet. I’m listening to all kinds of new music, but the Shuffle doesn’t seem to keep track of everything I’ve listened to. I’ll get home after listening to 6-8 songs and only 3 or so will have the proper day/time stamp on it. So I’m finding new music, but don’t always know what it is. And so The Experiment continues. Stay tuned for the next chapter.

The Experiment Hiccups

My great experiment took a little bit of a twist on the train ride home last night. I wasn’t paying attention and set my Shuffle, to get this, shuffle. So I have no idea what I was listening to half of the time. Now, I can check the time played on iTunes. So perusing a few songs to find the right one wouldn’t be that hard. However, after getting home yesterday evening around 7 pm, the time and date stamp for the songs I listened to was 4/12 at 12.15 pm. Not really sure how to fix that or why it’s a glitch. I have a feeling that this turn of events is going to be a pain in my neck. Fingers are now crossed.

Inspired by the Random 10

I’ve got quite a large catalogue of digital music (not bragging or anything). The problem is that I’m not really listening to most of it. I’m stuck on my playlists and have a few albums that I religiously listen to, but that’s about it. I feel like I’m in a musical rut. So I’m trying a little experiment. I have an iPod Shuffle that’s just been laying around. So following The Boy's lead, I’m going to load it up using the random autofill feature in iTunes and cross my fingers. Maybe this'll help me branch out more, maybe just solidify my musical tastes. Who knows? I’ll keep you all informed as my plan unfolds. Here goes nothing.
