Fancy Fold with a Book Mark

Good morning all!  Looks like we're in for a nice bright sunny day....and I hope the same for you.  My card today was a little difficult to photograph, so I've provided a few different views.

You will note that it's a tri-fold, and I have decorated all six sides, primarily using coordinating DP, faux stitching and a stamp set from Technique Tuesday (Dog and Pony Show).  As it's for a 4 year old who loves animals, I figure he can have fun colouring these little critters.

The first picture also shows the removable bookmark, made with Magnolia's Edwin with Bike.  Perfect for a little guy who loves his books and likes to ride!  I've coloured with copics, then cut out the image, mounting it over the frame for a bit of interest.

The DP is all from my stash, ages old, and heaven knows when I purchased the stamps, but I've inked the edges with a new DI...ripe persimmon.  So there is something new on my card! (lol)

Thanks for visiting and have yourselves a wonderful day!

See the Little Girl Dance!

Good morning friends and followers!  I'm hoping for a bit of sunshine today, and the weatherman says it might happen.  I'm not really complaining though, as I like autumn.....and I would like fall's seasonal temperatures to last well into winter......

So how about a nice sunny card for the new Anything Goes challenge at Charisma Cardz.  Here, I have used an image provided by one of our generous sponsors, Saturated Canary....isn't she adorable!  This one is called Zorana, A Dancing Gypsy, and I love the detail.   I've coloured with Copics, using a couple of Nestie dies and some DI shading for the finished look.

The DP's are from the Julianne paper pack from K&Company, and I've paired it up with some coordinating card stock.  The sentiment is an oldie from Clear Art Stamps, part of a set called Sweet Kids.

Our wonderful sponsors this week are:

and

I do hope we'll get to see your entry this week for your chance to win one of these lovely prizes.  First though, be sure to head over and have a gander at all the lovely creations from the DT.....lots of inspiration there to get your mojo moving!

Ghostly!

I had absolutely no intention of doing another project for Halloween, but then I decided to give a go with a tag for my granddaughter.  She can use it as a bookmark...maybe it will encourage her to read!  She's a good reader, but it's not a favourite pastime of hers.

This tag is made entirely from cardstock.....purple, lime green and then black.  I've made use of two different stamps....one from Stampotique (Sheer), which I stamped on the purple cs and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I then masked the image, and used a stamp from Local King Rubber (Silence), which I inked in black and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

To create a spooky effect, I've sponged green DI in around the branches, and then sponged with white to make it look foggy.  My intent was to make the girl appear to be a ghost.

Something a little different for a change....digging out some stamps and embossing powders that have been buried for some time.  (ghoulish halloween talk, no?)

A few fun challenges for my card.
Stampotique Designers Challenge - #40 It's Tag Time!

Bookmark for a Little Boy..

Hello out there, this Sunday morning.  Hope you are doing fine and your weekend is going well!

Here's a bookmark for my grandson, who turned 7 last week.....hence no ribbons, bows etc., and just in case their new pup finds this to be edible, the only bling I could add was stickles!  I made some bookmarks for his sister's birthday party earlier this year, so I thought he might like one of his own.

This little scarecrow image is one from Dustin Pike, who has many cute images suitable for a little boy.  Coloured with water colours, inspiration came from the many challenges out there this week looking for a fall/harvest theme or colours.  Of course, I thought I would whip this up quickly as I had made some before.....wrong again!  It took me much longer than it should have....especially if Farley gets hold of it!

A couple of those challenges I was mentioning:
Dustin Pike - All Things Shiny
Little Red Wagon - #103 Fall Theme
The Paper Shelter - #36 Harvest theme
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - #125 Autumn
Deep Ocean Challenge - #10 Fall Colours

Christmas is coming....

Good morning everyone!  Not sure what type of day it will be today, as it's still dark out!  We need an early start today though, as it's another treatment day for my DH....so just a quick post.

A nice bright card today, with this lovely image from Just Inklined.....Christmas Baubles.  I've collected many Christmas ornaments over the years, and I so enjoy the memories they invoke.  Each one holds a memory.....where I bought it or who gave it to me, and then, of course, there's the colours!!!

I've coloured with copics, then cut with a Nestie die and layered and layered!  The DP is something from a sampler pack, but I don't know who made it, sorry.  The brad is something new that I picked up last weekend, while the metal corner embellishment is from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I used my score-pal on the white card blank and a MS punch for the greenery under the flower.

A few challenges for my card:
Christmas Inspirations - #35 Die Cuts or Punches
The Pink Elephant - #121 Scoring
ABC Christmas Challenge - U is for Unused Stash (DP & brad)
Crafting When We Can - Christmas Come Early
Crafts 4 Eternity - #42 Embellishment Recipe (metal corner & brad)

Embossing - Good Doggie...

Good Morning everyone!  Hope you are all staying warm and cozy on these brisk fall mornings.  Our leaves are nearly all down....so, soon the clean up begins.

Today's challenge at Charisma Cardz calls for embossing...so I wanted to try something a little different.  After embossing the stripes with my Sizzix texture plate, I first applied some DI with my brayer, and then I added some stamping...with a script stamp and black ink.  This cute image is from Meljen's Designs, one of our sponsors this week, and I've coloured it up with copics.

I've kept it light with the additional elements, so that it might actually go in the post.  I've used liquid pearls instead of the real thing (lol), and a few punched flowers and a swirl.  If you look close, you will also see a little doodling.  The butterfly is ages old, recently discovered in my stash.

Our sponsors this week with some wonderful prizes are:

PRIZE ONE

and

PRIZE TWO

offering 4 Digis of the lucky winners choice!!

Twinkle Toes

Dance, like no one is watching.....at least you hope no one is!   Brings to mind a ballroom dance class that my husband and I took a couple of years back.   That teacher ragged on my hubby something fierce....I could never get him to sign up again. (lol)  Somehow, good dancers make it all look so easy, but the rest of us know that it isn't!

My card today uses a Karen's Doodles image...called Tango.  It is coloured with Prismacoloor pencils and OMS, then cut out and adhered to a nestie die cut.  I've used my new Edgeabilities die along the bottom of the card for the first time, and another first.....I made my own flowers with the mini rolled roses die.  I'm not too sure what I think of the result, but I think I need more practice.  I've added some stickles and pearls to the centres for a bit more interest.

Hope you too can get a bit of crafting in today.   Our day here is a bit gloomy....looks like snow, but thankfully it's not that cold out....just another fall day.

Swimming for Katie

Today, we are holding a special blog hop to raise awareness for a fellow crafter who is definitely going through some difficult times.  Katie Renz is a mother of three young boys, who is currently battling inoperable gastric cancer.  Her heart-moving story can be found  here, on her blog.
The exclusive stamp I've used on my card below, was designed by Becky Oehlers and is one of the many special items available for purchase, of which 100% of the profits go to Katie's fund to help her and her young family.

If you would like more information on how you can help, with a donation or the purchase of one the exclusive stamps, please go to this site here.
Or, for a complete list of the different items available for purchase...please go here.

Did Someone Say Cake....

Puppies can be soooo cute.....but they can get into sooooo much trouble too!  This image by Just Inklined brings to mind my daughter's pup, Farley.  We have found that he likes cake, right out of the pan before it's iced.....when your back is turned!   This little guy looks like he wants some cake too, and you can find him here.  His smile is quite contagious.....and he sits, stays, and causes no trouble at all!

He's coloured with copics and cut out with my Nestie die.  Some faux stitching and DI has been added to all edges.  I've used my daughter's TH die for the clock and then just a couple of  sentiment tickets.

Here's hoping you are all having a wonderful weekend.  Although the weather here is wet and windy, my day has been great.....there was a scrapfest in Oshawa today, and that's where I spent my morning!

Some fun challenges:

Tomboy

My oh my....just loving the weather we are having this Thanksgiving weekend!  Lots of sunshine and nice warm temperatures.  I wish it could stay like this all year, but we know that isn't to be.

So how about a card with a nice outdoor feel.   My youngest daughter was into this sport, and I spent many a time watching her play.  She would have loved to have had those braids too...but her hair just wouldn't grow long.   This little image is a digi from Tickled Pink Stamps, and goes by the name Baseball Pippa.  I've coloured her up with Prisma pencils and OMS, cutting and framing with a Nestie die.

The papers are from the Pinkpaislee Queen Bee selection, layered over pale yellow cardstock to make this fancy fold card.  A few punched flowers and greenery adds some interest, but also brings to mind the memories of the younger ones picking wild flowers in the outfield....waiting for the ball to come to them (lol).

The sentiment...Remember When, is an old stamp from Inkadinkado, while the ticket is from a set from Just Inklined.

We'll soon be looking at snow and winter coats again, so enjoy the day and be sure to get outside while you can!

Our Haunted House

It's the weekend, and a long weekend here in Canada too!  So, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  It looks like it is going to be a good one, both weather-wise and family wise.  It appears that on Monday, my daughters and their families are coming over and making the dinner....how cool is that!.  Now, we just need to hope that everyone stays healthy, and that my DH is up to it. (fingers crossed!)

Now, I could say this is my house......it's on a hill, no neighbours, and on summer nights there are bats around, (on occasion, said bats have even got inside which totally freaked me out!)....but no, it's one of the new images from Just Inklined........Haunted House.   Isn't it just perfect for Halloween?  It was a definite must have for me, especially when you consider that we get no visitors at our door on that night....!

So, I really had some fun colouring this one!  I've used Copics, and then chalks for the background.  I've torn, distressed and inked the papers, and then added a couple of sticker elements...backed with cardstock and attached with foam tabs for a bit of dimension.

Now, my house really isn't that scary....we just live too far out in the country.  Don't worry though, the candy doesn't go to waste...

Black and Orange and a new Challenge

Good morning!   We are now into October and fall is definitely in the air.....one of my favourite seasons.  It's my type of weather, and I love the colours.  Today's card follows the new challenge at Charisma Cardz, where it's a colour theme of  Black and Orange.

Here, I've used an older image from Mo Manning, called Mary Tapping.  She's coloured with water colours this time around, and then cut out with my Nestie using the 'out of the box' technique.  I thought it was very fitting for fall, as I imagine her jumping through the leaves or skipping rope with her skirt a flying!  The doily is a die cut, and the supplies are all from my stash.  A nice simple design, letting the colour contrasts do the work.

Be sure to check out the rest of the amazing DT creations, and be sure to give this challenge a go!  This week we are being sponsored by two fantastic sponsors with some lovely prizes are up for grabs.

Prize # 1

Happy Birthday with a Fancy Fold

Good morning everyone!  It looks like a good day....may even be going out this afternoon....so here's a quick post.

This is an image from Make It Crafty, called Lulu Swings.  I coloured her a while back, with some of the new copics I purchased and Prisma pencils with OMS.  Then, I had to wait until my mojo came back with a card design.  I found some inspiration in a few challenges this week, with the fancy folds, the colour combo, and of course the special challenge at Make It Crafty for Zoe's birthday.

Be sure to check out these challenges where I'll be entering this card!  Have a crafty day!

October Blog Hop at Just Inklined

Good morning everyone!  It's Monday again....yaaay...or not, but it is time again for the Blog Hop at Just Inklined!   This month's theme was chosen by our lovely hostess, Cathy, and we are going with the colours of fall
You should have arrived here from Heidy's blog, otherwise, you'd best head on back to Cathy's blog so as not to miss anything.  Remember to leave your comments along the way, for your chance at the mystery spot prizes.

For today's card, I've played with the image On Your Bike, which you can find here.  Here we have a pastime well suited to fall, when it isn't too hot and there is no snow on the ground.  I've coloured with Copics, adding some DI to the edges.

The DP is from My Mind's Eye, and I've paired it with some green and gold cardstock.  A bit of faux stitching for some added detail, and a few stamped leaves for another reminder of fall.

Now you can scoot on over to Jeni's blog, where you will always find something exciting!

......and just in case you lose your way......
here's the blog hop order:
Cathy, Heidy, Joyce (you are here) Jeni, Jak, Tammy, Toni, Karen

Have fun....and enjoy a wonderful crafty day.!
