For a Special Little Guy

Hi there.  I'm setting this post up in advance, as I'm heading to one of my daughters for a couple of days.  It's time again for another challenge at Charisma Cardz, and this week I got to choose the theme.  Nice and easy.....'Something for the Guys'.  I'm hoping to see lots of your creations this week and look forward to visiting you.

This sweet little image has been coloured with copics, and as you can see, I've used the out of the box technique...a favourite of mine.  I've played with a new die that my daughter found for me, and there is quite a bit of faux stitching.  Otherwise, only a bit of twine and a little charm.  No flowers or ribbon this time around.

Supplies used:
Image from Saturated Canary - Sporty Guy
Papers from My Mind's Eye - Fly a Kite pad
Martha Stewart's - Crown Punch
Spellbinders - Star Circles die

This week we have some lovely sponsors, with of course some wonderful prizes up for grabs!

Prim and Proper...

Hi there.  I actually made it into my craft space yesterday, though it felt a little strange.  Everything seems so different now, rather like a time warp, and will definitely take more getting used to.  I thought a vintage card would be quite appropriate, so I've played with this lovely Burlesque image from Just Inklined.  I've used a fancy pre-cut card blank from Classy Crafts, stamping it with a background stamp and then inking it up with two colours of DI.  Once again I've coloured with copics, and this time I even managed to add some pretty flowers for embellishment.

Thanks for visiting, and for all your kind comments.

Vintage Fashion

Good morning everyone.  It's been a while since I posted a card, and this one was meant for the September blog hop at Just Inklined.  If you've seen my last post, you will understand why this didn't happen.

Here, I have gone with a fancy shaped card from Classy Crafts, with papers from the K&Company Julianne collection, and this gorgeous image from Just Inlined titled Abigail.  I just adore these fancy hats from days gone by, however, I doubt this would be suitable for our Canadian weather.  Coloured with copics and a bit of pencil, with distress inks to soften the edges.

Some challenges for my card....be sure to check them out.

Totally Papercrafts - #134 Use Your Favourite Stamp
Crafty Ribbons - #28 Vintage

Well I'm back.....kind of...

Just a short note to let you know why I haven't posted for a while.  For the past year, my dear husband fought his courageous battle against cancer.  He was a real trooper and tried his hardest, but it wasn't meant to be.  He passed away August 31st, after two weeks spent in hospital, with me by his side.  Thankfully he is now at peace and all his suffering is over.  My heart goes out to everyone who has had to deal with this dreadful disease, it takes so much from all of us.

Bruce was so supportive of my crafting ventures, always interested in what I was making.  I promised him I would continue, and I'll actually be posting a card tomorrow, though it was made up prior.  For today, I thought I would showcase some of his work.  He was a wonderful wood carver, using a technique called Chip Carving, and he too liked to enter his work in competition....winning many ribbons and awards.

Although, he was taken from me far too early, I was truly blessed to share 43 years with this wonderful man.  He leaves me with three lovely daughters and four beautiful grandchildren...and many wonderful memories.  Now, go give your loved ones a big hug.

Thanks for visiting.
