To Perk Up Your Day...

Definitely a dark dreary day, with lots of rain....but at least it's not snowing!  Looks to be the same for the next 5 days, but I know that is a lot better than what some people may be getting.  Hope you can stay warm and dry...looks like good weather for crafting.

I thought a nice bright Christmas card would perk things up, and I've used this adorable Santa Bear image from Just Inklined.  I've coloured with copics, adding lots of glamour dust to the fur (not showing up to much...blame the dark day!), then used the 'out of the box technique' to cut it out.  A bit too early for Christmas trees yet, so we made do with decorating a leafy vine. (lol)

The papers are from the Basic Grey Jovial collection, and just a pretty bow, a few gems and a bit of doodling finish it off.  Ahhh, another one done.....and it will easily go in the mail!

Tools used:
Martha Stewart - Zig Zag Edger punch
Spellbinders dies - Labels Twelve and Fancy Tags Three
Whimsey Stamps - Vines die

Thanks for dropping by, and hope you can have a great day!

Birthday Card for a Little One

Good morning everyone.  It's that time again, for another challenge at Charisma Cardz.  This week, the theme is Don't be Square, and the DT have some gorgeous creations to share.  Be sure to check them out!

Today I've used one of our sponsor's cute little images...Roxy, from Digi Stamp Boutique. I've gone for really bright on this one, perfect for a little one, once again colouring with copics.  I've cut the card down a bit, letting the matted image extend over the top......and then it still fits in the envelope.

Other supplies used:
Background Grasses rubber stamp from Stämpelkällan
Spellbinder's Labels Nine die, and their Fancy Framed Tags Two
Magnolias's Lovely Fence Doohickey die

Here's hoping you get the chance to play along this week, for the chance at some wonderful prizes from our generous sponsors.

For my little Pumpkin

Almost unbelievable!  I think I found an extra day today!  I was supposed to go to Peterborough for an overnight stay, as it is my grandson's birthday.  As luck would have it though, he was sick to his stomach this morning....all over the kitchen floor!  Sooooo, I'm  waiting a few days, and this gave me a nice mild day to do some work in the garden....and then I made another card!

I needed another Halloween card, and this cute little image was a freebie that you can find here, at Redonkulous Designs.  This will be for one of my granddaughters, and it just so happens that her favourite colour is purple!

I've made a Z fold card this time around, and found some halloween papers in my old scrapbooking stash.  The image is coloured with copics, and then I used the 'out of the box' technique with my Spellbinders die.  I've added some metalic pen to the edges, for a bit of interest, and it actually shows quite well in the photo! (for a change).  The orange circle has been cut twice, in order to sandwich the fold and provide a nice clean back for the inside.  As you can see, I've inked and stamped the front half, trying for a bit of a spooky look.  I think she should like this.

Tools used:
Spellbinders die - Labels Twenty Three
Whimsy Vines die, and Corner Die Set

Thanks for stopping by, and I do hope you've had a lovely weekend too!

Off to Grandma's house?

Well, the weekend is already half over....where did it go?  Hope everyone is doing well, enjoying some free time, and if the weather is good where you are...perhaps getting a bit of time outdoors.  Soon it will be Halloween, and I know of a couple of goblins that might just like a card from Grandma.

Bat's make for a wonderful addition to a spooky image, but in real life....I am not a fan!!!  Living in the country...they are out there!  In fact if someone leaves the basement door open, they'll even come in for a visit.  Tough lessons learned!

Today I've played with this spooky little number...Bat Castle, from Just Inklined!  They won't get many visitors looking for candy!  Coloured with copics and then chalks for the sky, I then found a few stickers in my stash to complete the effect.

We don't get any visitors on Halloween either....the kids from the area are all grown, and we live too far out of the way.  Needless to say, I only buy the candy that I like (ha ha), and the grandkids never complain!

Hi there everyone!  Time for a quick post before I go to watch the one and only TV show that I follow, 'Person of Interest'.   I know, I'm a strange one, but TV doesn't do anything for me, although I do like a good movie!

Quite a simple little card, playing with some different shapes, most of which are just cut by hand.  Once again, coloured with copics and edged with DI, adding a number of little metal brads for embellishment.

Supplies used:
Make it Crafty digi image - Party Girl Zoe
Paper from My Mind's Eye - Fine and Dandy collection
Spellbinders dies - Deckled Rectangles and Lacey Ovals

Hope life is treating you kindly!  Thanks for visiting.

Just a Little Pink....

I think it's about time for another post....after a very busy weekend!  Luckily I had this card finished before it all began.  Drove north to visit my youngest daughter and meet up with my parents for lunch Friday.  Then home and over to my oldest daughter's in the evening....for supper and then Scrapfest where we both found supplies we never knew we needed (lol).  Off to a class in the morning, making a photo book with Vicki Boutin....loads of fun, out for lunch and then back to my house to try to get it finished (ha ha!).  Then pick up my middle daughter and granddaughter for an over-night stay, taking her back to the train this afternoon.  Loved all the visits, but now it's time to put my feet up.

Today's DT card for Just Inklined, plays with a bit of pink, a colour well associated with October and Breast Cancer Awareness.  I'd like to think this image will bring a bit of a smile...not quite what one would expect.  Please remember, those mammograms are so important...and check with your doctor if you notice any changes.  I speak from experience, and I was one of the lucky ones.

Once again, I've coloured with copics, adding some DI around the edges, and I've listed the supplies used below.

Supplies used:
Image from Just Inklined - Gardening Boots Hers
Papers from My Mind's Eye - So Sophie Graceful pad
Spellbinders die - Labels Two

Good morning!  Are you ready for a new challenge?  This week we have a lovely sketch to follow, and of course some lovely prizes from our wonderful sponsors.  But be sure to check out the rest of the DT projects over at Charisma, before you get started!

So, today I've played with one of our sponsors' images, Seduction Suzy, and of course, this lovely sketch.  I've coloured her up with copics, adding some stickles to the gift ribbon and the hair embellishments.

Using papers from the Basic Grey Sweet Threads collection, I've added a bit of doodling and some DI.  The flowers have been sponged with some DI for a bit more interest and you'll find a few pearls in amongst the leaves...why not!

Tools used:
Fancy Framed Tags Two die from Spellbinders
Heart Swirl die from Magnolia
Simplicity corner slot punch from EK Success

Now for our sponsors for this week:

Prize One

Christmas Tweats...

Are you thinking Christmas yet?  How about 79 days and counting down!  Yikes!  Where does the time go....   This also means that the weather will be getting colder, and we'll be seeing some of our winter feathered friends back again.....and snow!  Oh no!  Hopefully we'll have a nice mild winter like last year.

I am definitely not a winter person or a fan of snow, but I will admit it has one thing going for it.....it makes for a beautiful picture on a Christmas card!  This adorable image (Kissing Robins) from Just Inklined is a wonderful example.

Coloured with copics, I've cut it out and attached to a hand made tag.  The DP was so pretty that it didn't really need much else, just a few gems and liquid pearls to enhance it.  Clean and simple, and all ready to post!

A few challenges for this card:

Created with Love - #11 Christmas
Everybody-Art-Challenge - #208 Tag
Deep Ocean Challenge - #35 More than 2 colours

A Touch of Humour

Hi everyone.  I thought I'd try to lighten things up a bit today with a bit of humour.  With the cooler weather now on the way, the southern beaches and resorts will soon be getting their northern visitors....I even know of a few!

This little cutie is all ready to head south, and should prove quite the attraction!  As you can see, lots of distress ink...around the image, for the stenciled flowers and also on the card blank which I both sponged and stamped.  Another stencil was used to create the zig-zag edging, and you'll find some added glitter for the flower centres and the image edge.

Supplies used:
Beach Baby Jayme digi image from Crissy Armstrong
Mature sentiment stamp from Art Impressions
Marble Texture Cube from Stampendous
Deckled Rectangles die from Spellbinders
