Hearts with Elizabeth Bell

I'll have to get busy soon, as I am leaving for a bit of a break from winter in a few days, but first a card for the new challenge at Elizabeth Bell's.  This month they are looking for Hearts, and I've coloured up this pretty image...Little Miss Mouse, with my copics.  I won this image in their last challenge and I've done it up for a GDT card this month.  Loving the bright colours...such a change from the view outside my window.  Come on spring!!!!!

Little Sweetie

Only two more months of winter..(I'm dreaming, of course!), then spring, then summer, then fall, then it will soon be Christmas....ha ha!  Well, at least I've started on my cards!

Today's card is for the Outlawz Freebie Progressive Challenge, using the sweet image that was provided this month from All Dressed Up.  She looked so dainty, I chose to colour her in soft pastels.  Copics were my medium, with a bit of fancy cutting and a lacy oval die-cut in behind.  The papers are from my stash, and you can see I've used some green glitter paper for embellishment, making use of a couple of my punches.

Some other challenges for my card:

Travel journal...

Another fun image from Dr Digi's House of Stamps, and this time it adorns the first page of my new travel journal!  I'll be heading south for a spell, looking for some warmer weather, and I can add a few notes on my travels.  Only funny ones of course!  So here we have Summer Holiday, with Derek at the wheel....he offered to drive, but I think perhaps I'll find my own transportation.

So we have copics for the image, with some glossy accents for the lights and sunglasses, and then I filled in a background with some coloured pencils.  A bit of stencil work to simulate blue skies and window panes, a few scraps of dp and a couple of stamps to finish it off.

You'll be seeing more of this journal, and I'm quite excited....I'll be able to keep some of my coloured images!  lol.  So, until next time.....travel safely!

Wrinkle free...

Happy weekend everyone!  For all of those of you in the colder climates....hope you are staying warm.  For the rest of you....I'm jealous!!!   I wonder how many more days until spring?  Sure hope it comes early!

Today's card uses a newly acquired image from Lacy Sunshine (Mayde Pressing Matters) and some new sparkly ribbons from Crafty Ribbons.  Notice the nice spring colours....even if the subject is ironing?  But I know someone who actually likes to iron, and this card is for her.  Not my favourite pastime, but then.....she isn't into crafting.

Once again I've coloured the image with copics, then cut it out with a Spellbinders die and edged with silver metallic ink.  For the card itself, I've used a stencil and embossing paste to make the pretty pattern, then added shading with distress inks.  The heart embellishment is cut from gold glitter paper and then gold peel-offs provide the sentiment.  If you look closely, you can even see the polka dots peeking through from the original DP.

Hope to get some ironing (ha ha), I mean crafting in today.  Definitely not going outside, where it is so cold and windy.  The sun may be shining, but it doesn't fool me...that wind will cut right through you!  Take care and stay warm.

Baby blue

Hi everyone.  I wanted to get this card posted tonight, as I may get away to my Mom's tomorrow if the weather and roads aren't too bad.  We seem to be getting a bit of snow or freezing rain each day lately.  Nothing like last year, but still enough to make things miserable.  I prefer to just stay home and hibernate, but that is not always possible.  My father has finally been admitted to a nursing home, after a five month wait in hospital.  We are hoping he adjusts without too many problems, as that will relieve Mom of some of the stress.  Has anyone noticed that the 'golden years' aren't all we envisioned?  On that note.....

...how about a card for a new baby!   Here I've used watercolours on a pretty stamp from Wild Rose Studio.  If you look closely, you will also see a corner stamp done with blue ink and some glitter on the flowers and butterflies.  Otherwise, a fairly simple design with minimal embellishment...and it's all ready to go in the mail.

Thanks for stopping by.  Drive carefully, and I will too.

Through the Purple Haze - #72 Anything goes

He's making a list.....

Okay, so Christmas is over for this year, and Santa's job is done, however, he's already making his list up for next year.  Unlike some of us, he doesn't leave everything until the last minute.....so you'd better be good.  This delightful image is another one from Dr Digi's House of Stamps, titled Naughty or Nice.  If you start now, maybe you'll be ready for next year's Christmas too!

Copics are my colouring medium today, and I've used a couple of the dies from Spellbinders Marvelous Squares set.  The DP is from MME and the paper sandwiched behind the image is actually a shiny gold.  Just a pretty ribbon for embellishment as it will have to go in the post eventually.

I do hope everyone is staying warm, and trying to avoid the nasty flu bug that is going around.  It is sure to be crafting time for the next few months.....after all, who wants to go outside!
