Dreaming....

Although it may be Easter weekend, the signs of spring are hard to find.  I recall in years past, when we wore spring outfits and enjoyed time outside in the warm sun.  Not this year.  We are still wearing winter coats and the weather man is calling for snow?  I'm sure hoping he has it wrong!

As a reminder that warmer days are coming, I've made a card with lots of bright spring colours.  I've used watercolours to do up this sweet stamp, and a number of dies to cut it out and frame it.  The little butterflies are actually fussy cut from washi tape....nice easy touch.

Items used:
Wild Rose Studio stamp - In the Meadow
Spellbinders dies -  Labels Eight and Decorative Labels Eight

So happy Easter everyone!   Hoping you all get to spend time with family and friends, and maybe even enjoy a bit of sunshine....miracles do happen!

Baby blue

Hi everyone.  I wanted to get this card posted tonight, as I may get away to my Mom's tomorrow if the weather and roads aren't too bad.  We seem to be getting a bit of snow or freezing rain each day lately.  Nothing like last year, but still enough to make things miserable.  I prefer to just stay home and hibernate, but that is not always possible.  My father has finally been admitted to a nursing home, after a five month wait in hospital.  We are hoping he adjusts without too many problems, as that will relieve Mom of some of the stress.  Has anyone noticed that the 'golden years' aren't all we envisioned?  On that note.....

...how about a card for a new baby!   Here I've used watercolours on a pretty stamp from Wild Rose Studio.  If you look closely, you will also see a corner stamp done with blue ink and some glitter on the flowers and butterflies.  Otherwise, a fairly simple design with minimal embellishment...and it's all ready to go in the mail.

Thanks for stopping by.  Drive carefully, and I will too.

Christmas time's a coming....

Well, the weekend is nearly over, and didn't it turn cold!  Hopefully this isn't the end of the nice weather, but I have had the heat on today.  Feeling the winter aches and pains already....yuk!

Of course, if winter is coming...then so is Christmas, and today I have another Christmas card.  Once again, it is a rubber stamp from Wild Rose Studio, and therefore I have used my water colours.  I've added a bit of sparkle to the snow with some glamour dust, but I really had some fun with the edging.  I've cut out the image with one die, inked the edges with DI, then stamped the edges with a evergreen stamp.  After adding a bit of gold metallic trim, I then mounted it on another die cut, to which I had also added the evergreen stamp.  The sentiment has been heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

Supplies used:
Paper from Wild Rose Studio - A Robin's Christmas
Evergreen and sentiment stamps from Darcie's Stamps - Cardinal
Spellbinders dies -  Labels Twenty Three and Fleur de Lis Rectangles
Ribbon from Crafty Ribbons

Here's hoping your weekend was grand, and that all goes well in the week ahead!

Celebrate the Season

Good morning all.  The sun is shining and it looks like a beautiful day....here's hoping it's the same where you are.  I doubt we'll be needing the air conditioning anymore this year, as the temperatures have really changed, but it's definitely good weather for working outside.  Just hoping that winter delays its start and autumn lasts and lasts and lasts....  Spring and fall are my favourite seasons,

My card today, however, is for the Christmas season, when it is generally cold and snowy here in Canada.  Here, I have both paper and stamp from Wild Rose Studio, and watercolours again, with a bit of chalk for the background shading.  The Spellbinders Floral Ovals die has been used to cut it out, with a little added distress ink to enhance the frame.  Nice and simple, and another card ready to post.

Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day!

Christmas is coming....

I'm sure Christmas will be here before we know it, but for now I'll enjoy the nice sunny weather.  Here in Canada, summer was late in coming, and I'm hoping winter will be dragging it's heels too!

I had a play this afternoon, with this pretty stamp from Wild Rose Studio and some watercolours.  I really need to get busy making my Christmas cards.  It would be such a shame if I had to buy some!

I tried something a little different here, with the Joy Crafts die, for the backing behind the image.  First I cut it from the green dp, then again from white cardstock.  After gluing the dp to the red cardstock, I inserted the white piece into the empty space.  This allows the red to show through and also gives me a patterned die cut for another card.

I finished it off with a few gold touches and a sentiment, heat embossed in white.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed your visit.

A start on Christmas...

Okay, it's time for a break....today was house cleaning day, after visits from grandkiddies and doggies.  It's a bit too hot for heading outside, so a good time for posting a card.  I made this one up last night....thought I'd best make a start on Christmas cards, before it's too late!

I played with water colours again, and a stamp from Wild Rose Studio, titled Birdhouse.  I've used some liquid applique for the snow, giving it some added dimension.  I much prefer this snow to the real stuff....

A fairly simple design, with just a few die cuts and some silver peel-offs.  Although it doesn't show well in the photo, I have completely covered the snowflake die with glamour dust, for lots of sparkle.

I had to find my camera out for this one, though I usually use my iPad.  For some reason my iPad mail is not connecting to the server.  The internet is working fine.  Is anyone else having this problem?

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Get on your bike and ride.....

Good morning folks!  It's a long weekend for those of us in Canada, and we are hoping for some nice sunshine.  Hopefully the rain is finished, however, it does make pulling weeds so much easier.  Always a silver lining, and so much better than snow!  Oh, and my tulips are finally ready to flower!

And of course, now you can get out on those bikes if you are so inclined, the motorized sort or the good old pedal powered.  Neither one is for me, I have to say....feeling far too old and really, I'm a big chicken!  This card will be for my brother.  Both him and his wife have motorbikes, and I do like to kid them regarding their future adventures....

For my Just Inklined DT card this week, here is one of the images to be found on The Best of Just Inklined 2012 CD ROM.  I think it is hilarious, and I'm sure it will bring a smile.  All though I was thinking of a birthday card, it would actually work well for an anniversary card too.

Once again I've worked with my copics, cutting the image out with my Spellbinders die.  This time though, the image isn't layered.  I used the die on the DP and the image, fitting them together like a puzzle.  This makes a much lighter weight card, and worked great with these bold colours.

The DP is from the Bo Bunny - Serenade Collection, and the sentiment is from the Wild Rose Studio - Birthday Circles set.  The only embellishment is the silver peel-off border...I'm letting the image carry the show!
