Gravity Trailer - Official Warners Bros

Not that gravity we knew of, instead, its a heart-pounding thriller that will pull viewers into the infinite and unforgiving realm of deep space.

The film stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as astronauts who survive the mid-orbit destruction of a Space Shuttle and attempt to return to Earth. The film focused on how both astronauts work together to survive an accident that leaves them adrift in space.

Initial reviews from critics and audiences alike have been overwhelmingly positive giving emphasis and much praise for Emmanuel Lubezki's cinematography, as well as Bullock's and Clooney's performances. I was very intrigue about the movie most specially after seeing this movie trailer.

Les Miserables, The Cutting Edge Sound Behind The Soundtrack

The songs behind the musical Les Miserables is already timeless, over and over from one generation to another, it had been played and listened to, countless of times and will perhaps continue for another generation, but its latest film installment went just beyond the song, it touches the sound quality as well by pairing up with the expert in the industry, Bang & Olufsen.

The collaboration had brought the musical to the next level, live on shot recording on a 5.1 surround sound quality. Anyways, watch the video below to know more.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

I hate to say this but the movie sucks big time just like the Lord of the Rings series!

I don't know what the author wants to imply but its another story that would make people feel stupid in the end. He had this weird pattern of subjecting characters to a long and dangerous journey when they had an option to take a short and easy way by flying at the back of a giant birds! How ridiculous, where's the sense? And this bummer usually happened on climatic scenes, messing everything up.

Yes, the had a top notched visual effects, excellent production and awesome cinematography but all the efforts were defiled by the poorly configured storyline.... If not for the birds!

The movie is part one of the three-part film adaptation of the 1937 novel The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien. The three films together will act as prequels to Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.

The story revolves around Bilbo Bagins, a hobbit tapped by the wizard Gandalf, to accompany thirteen dwarves led by their prince Thorin Oakenshield on a quest across Middle-earth to reclaim their lost home and kingdom, the Lonely Mountain, from a dragon.

Their journey had almost the same pace that of the Lord of the Rings, the places they've been to, the characters they've encounter, etc., only that they were 15 characters taking the journey instead of 4.

Anyways, the movie is currently being shown in cinema's across the country, go check it out!

Battleship, Coolness 101

Another movie has captured my fancy lately that I never thought would, Battleship, a sci-fi flick that was based on a long depicted alien invasion of the planet earth. As had been seen on countless Hollywood movies since time immemorial, I thought I would never get to like this having seen Independence Day and Transformers, both, big budget movies which shows drooling special effects and mind blowing stunts, but I was so wrong, Battleship tanks its own cool and remarkable assets that made me screech.

Effectively, the director of the movie was able to hit the formula on making a fancy and interesting sci-fi movie, violence, sex siren, humor, clean special effects and cool soundtrack. Even the storyline was classically molded, from a loser/failure character to a hero who saves the world.

Aside from the usual stints, I like effort made by the writers to introduce new ideas in the scenario, for instance, in the alien persona, they’re depicted as generally amphibians with battleships reflected hereto. Where can you find a spaceship that moves like flying fish, only in this movie! That’s how wicked it is!

There were also new battle strategies employed, like the buoy system that was used in navigation and detecting movements of ships. It might be true in some sense but I don’t think it’s as accurate and believable since you cannot find this in almost square miles at sea.

I also like the battleship confrontations of course especially when there are trying to hit alien ships, they were nerve wracking than going to first date.

On the not so fun side, the actor’s performances were below average, I couldn’t see their efforts at all that it feels like there just throwing funny punch lines all the time. Ridiculous! I also would like to question the fact that the President of the United States as well as the others heads of states were not seen on the strategy room unlike the other movies in catastrophic proportion.

Anyways, what matters most is the enjoyment that I gain from watching it. For once since the movie 12.12.12, I finally found another one that’s wicked enough to be added to my all-time favorite list.

Which Avengers Character Are You? Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk or others?

The Avengers movie had been getting a rave attention worldwide, in the Philippines alone; it had already broke local box office record making it the highest grossing film of all time. I believe it will also do the same in other countries, but before that happens we might as well learn more about the characters in the movie, going beyond there suits or public image.

Black Widow - Natasha Romanoff

A sex serine and highly trained spy working for S.H.I.E.L.D, an international peacekeeping organization. She has an extraordinary fighting skill, clever personality and swaying prowess like no other, but best of all, she works for the greater good. Weakness, she has no superpower unlike other members of the team.

Captain America - Steve Rogers

A World War II veteran who was enhanced to the peak of human physicality by an experimental serum. In the film, he is trying to come to terms with the modern world, where he was sent, decades after his time. Steve Rogers of course got the looks, enhance human ability and has the virtue of a true hero. Weakness, he’s also vulnerable being human.

Hawkeye - Clint Barton

A master archer and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent known as the "World's Greatest Marksman". Just like Black Widow, he possesses no superpowers, only a mastered skill of archery but unparalleled. It's a lonely character for Hawkeye, he's an outcast and his only connection is to Natasha whom was considered his critical right/left hand. They both need to coexist when it comes to a physical mission.

Hulk - Dr. Bruce Banner

A genius scientist who, because of exposure to gamma radiation, transforms into a monster when enraged or excited. In the film, he was impersonated as a being who people don’t want to mess around, danger is within him and invisibility as well. He won’t get hurt by gun shots or any form of firearms. Weakness, he continues to struggle with the two sides of his character, the dark and the light, and everything he does in his life is filtered through issues of control.

Iron Man - Tony Stark

A technology buff, self-described genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist with a mechanical suit of armor of his own invention. He had all the coolest gadgets in the world from thin touched tablets/phones to computer hologram screens, the hottest chick in town and all the money in the world. Who wouldn’t want to be Tony Starks? Weakness, he is purely human and depends a lot on his mechanical suit.

Nick Fury

The director of S.H.I.E.L.D., an international peacekeeping organization. He possesses a cunning leadership skill, fitting to lead superheroes. But as inciting as he is, he does not want to be mess around with, it’s like he has dark side in him but on the lighter note.

Maria Hill

A S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who works closely with Jackson's Nick Fury. Being an agent, she also possesses a strong character with fighting skill, though not shown in the movie. She was touted also as a normal career woman balancing work and family life. Her greatest strength, a trusted confidant, while her weakness, she has no superpower unlike other members of the team.

Thor

The god of thunder based on the Norse deity. Being a god, he possess a supernatural personality; powerful, protector and commanding like he carries the world upon his shoulder. He is heroic yet autocratic. Weakness, he's constantly having to battle the greater good and what he should do vs. the fate of his little brother, who was the causing all the trouble.

So back to the title question, for me, being a geek, I’m more of a Tony Stark by 40% because I’m fun of having gadgets around me but I’m not as brilliant, as vile and as rich as he is. I’m also a 30% Steve Rogers being good looking (ahem!), plus the fact that I have a problem fitting to the modern times, not by character but by monetary resources and last but not the least, 30% Nick Fury having the dark side vulnerability of not wanting to be mess around.

So how about you, which Avenger character are you?

The Adventures of Tintin - The Secret of the Unicorn

I missed this big time, the movie trailer of my favorite childhood hero Tintin had been on youTube more than a month now without me knowing.

I've been waiting for this movie from the day of its official announcement that its going to have big screen ramake. Now its less than a month more before the showing date and I'm very excited.

Needless to say, I was shocked to find out that it was a 3D animated movie, I thought it would be a regular movie with human actors but nonetheless, I will still be watching it. I haven't read the comic version of this particular adventure so the thrill to know it full hand is there.

The movie will be shown worldwide with varied showing dates starting December 2011.

Trivia Question: What Movie Features Nokia Devices As The Only Phones Used By Movie Characters All Throughout?

No its not Robocop but somewhat related because it features bad ass robot/s kicking butts like its the end of the world!

The movie is no other than the Transformers 3, Dark Side of the Moon, that features 4 (on my count) new and hotly contested Nokia phones used by the main characters of the story. I might be wrong in the identification of some phones here or missed some, so the post open for scrutiny.

First up, Nokia E73 Mode (the worldwide named E72), the powerful business QWERTY smartphone which was used by Frances McDormand (Mearing) in calling people around. The phone perfectly fits her character; serious, stiff and stern like nothing can go wrong.

I was also able to site Nokia C6 white, the clever and fun Symbian^1 smartphone that is held by the sexy siren Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (Carly), the movie's only breathing incandescent. The phone is a social monster which allows users to connect to every possible social networks around. Its equivocal to fun and connectivity and with the phones side curves, its synonymous to Carly's posture.

Then came the Nokia X7, the ultimate entertainment smartphone carried by the main character himself Sam Witwicky. The phone is menacingly attractive on the silverscreen with its 4 inch capacitative AMOLED and unique design. Its playful, mischievous and spirited like Shia LaBeouf.

Last but not the least, the phone that took the smartphone world by storm, Nokia N9, first stage disruptive device and the very first Meego running smartphone from Nokia carrying a luscious, savvy, unique and incredibly easy user interface. The device was carried by the a high profile government officer and was shown while the character was inside a limousine. What does this signify? Yup, disruption to the most powerful extend and on the top class caliber because after the conversation, the move to oust Autobots on earth was initiated.

As disturbing as it may seem but I was able to interpret the product placement like nobody have done. c", It's like what the hell was wrong with me? Hah! Well what do you expect from a tech freak.

My movie review is up next, stay tuned!

Super 8, The Movie Review

When I first heard about this movie, I thought the shitty Korean Pop (K-Pop) boybands/girlbands, which does terrible singing and stupendous dancing, have already invaded Hollywood but good to know that I was wrong at the same time right.

Wrong because the movie is produce by a legendary Hollywood director, Steven Spielberg and directed by the cunning J.J. Abrams of Star Trek lauding a very interesting Trailer that will make you say, hey I want to watch that movie! On the other hand, I was right because just like the shitty K-Pop, the movie was as bad making you wonder if Spielberg is now a Korean since he thought of producing the crappy movie.

First and foremost, the movie has a terrible, headache inducing story that will make feel delirious because you keep on wondering why things happened the way they are foretold. Okay the story was about an alien with a massive size and strength, who happens to be a prisoner of the US government and was helped by a scientist to escape by blowing a massive transport train. What so stupid about the story, the trains total wreckage against the colliding truck, the alien’s strength that could be compared to a dinosaur who could have escape anytime from the prison they are keeping him, the aliens spaceship that could have easily been rebuild since its self-assembling, among the rest of the sensible conditions deliberately neglected by the writers just to make the story long so it could fit into a full length movie.

Second, the movie had stupid scenarios that I just cannot take like when the army bombarded the town shooting their guns, tanks, missiles and cannons everywhere, even to themselves. It was like holy crap, did the alien have telepathic power to influence people’s mind, why are they shooting one another?

Third, the actors on the movie except the kids were terrible specially Ron Eldard, the father of Alice who has no effort in his performance. Kyle Chadler on the other hand was overacting at times that it looks awkward to watch. Now the kids where fine specially the fat one who manage to give justice to his role as a budding director. Elle Fanning on the other hand was also good but not as funny and cute like the the zombie kid and the vomiting geek.

Some good parts in the movie, J.J. Abrams’s way of exaggerating scenarios like the train incident where he totally blew everything away to madness. It was awesome seeing the train crash and burn throwing away everything in the air. That was very cool and I was totally sold out because of the clean special effects. He also tried to make the actions close to the character as possible that viewers can feel the thrill up close.

I also like the director’s idea of focusing the story on kids especially that it encourages young people at the moment to do the same and be creative. It’s like implying a lesson that kids can do these stuffs and that they can make a difference out of it. I never thought young kids like they are had an idea to film, all I do when I was in there age was eat and play.

And of course I cannot give you my views on cinematography, lights, sounds among the films other technicalities because that’s up to the academy to decide. What I can do at the moment is gauge the film in terms of entertainment and value for the money …and I would say yes for entertainment if you just want a movie that will tickle a bit of your funny bones with hilarious punch lines and scenes at the same time awe you a bit with some graphic effects but when it comes to money’s worth, nah, live it there because I don’t want you to have the same terrible headache like I did.

Film Rating: 4 Pop Corns

X-Men First Class...ic!

If there’s one movie that backtrack important events like no other, it has to be X-Men First Class as it exceptionally achieve one of the best story narration to date. It was as clear and as close to the real story as possible that none of the important things I know was missing. Not to mention the clean special effects and action scenes, tally it all and X-Men series finally has a classic part to boast about.

Applaud to the casts first and foremost because they were able to perform their characters as convincing as possible. They were not the best actors in tinsel town but they were able to perform what was expected for them. Another applause to the writers who made the storyline simple, fun and believable enough. It just proves how simple things matters.

I’m not very much persuaded on how mutation was explained, there were no clear explanation on how and why it happened. It would have been better if they were able to connect current extraordinary people who can do exceptional stuffs as a gradual part of mutation like for instance, the David Blaine of the 80’s or some famous people in the past that can do extraordinary stuffs.

The movie is the most important part of the whole Series since it explained the beginning of the long battle between good and evil mutants, it would have been better if they showed this first than what has been release, everything would have hit like it was back then when the cartoon series went live on television.

My grade on the movie, 8 pop corn out of 10 because I enjoyed the film and I’m used to be a big X-Men TV series fan. So go watch it!

X-Men First Class In Cinemas June 1

X-MEN FIRST CLASS charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon.

I'm very excited on this film because it fore-tale the beginning of story that I've grown watching on television. As far as I can remember, the cartoon series featured a 30 mimute episode backtracking the history of Professor X and Magneto and how everything started, this is a full length movie that will feature finer details behind it.

Everything will be revealed in 3 days time! See the epic trailer here!

The Last Airbender's Stellar Performance on Razzies

As much as I like Avatar, The Last Airbender story and the cartoon series, the movie is a crap that is why it made it big to the recently concluded Golden Raspberry Award or the Razzie, an award given in recognition of the worst film of the year.
It was so stellar that it gained 5 awards, the worst picture, worst director for M. Night Shyamalan, worst screenplay, still for M. Night Shyamalan, the worst supporting actor for Jackson Rathbone and the worst eye-gouging misuse of 3-D.

Well, I agree with the worst director, screenplay, worst eye-gouging misuse of 3D due to its bullish idea of convert 2D film to 3D to save money and supporting actor but I think its doesn't deserve the worst movie title. The film has its weak points but it also did great on some aspects. Maybe the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation were just jealous because the film manage to earn $300Million on the worldwide box-office.

For M. Night Shyamalan, there were still 3 more books left for him to film, hope he can vindicate himself.
