Haiku + Senryu

Haiku is a seasonal, reverent celebration of a subject (nature or people) trying to make a feeling.
Senryu tends to have a victim and may be humorous or irreverant trying to make a point.
- paraphrased from Michael Dylan Welch's Graceguts

bagel...

little sand snail
celebrates new summer with
a living bagel

NOTE
Sand snails lay eggs in kidney-shaped egg jellies.
If you hold one up to the light, you will see spots inside which are the tiny eggs.
This photo was taken at Rosebud beach.

alternative...

filtered dress styles
bending the bars of culture
for cooling comfort

NOTE
In memory of Kat Creighton who loved the beach, the sea in New Jersey.
Her haiku blog was my ninth life.
Her gift from a friend, a seashell angel, was her most recent avatar on Facebook.

When grey wild winds...

When grey wild winds howl
And the sea seems unfriendly
Souls feel disgruntled
