Question: When you add flour, water and spices and then bake it what do you get?
Answer: A bowl!
Eindhoven-based Italian duo FormaFantasma launch an exquisite series of tableware and lamps made from flour coloured with natural pigments derived from dried spices and vegetables, and brooms crafted from grain stalks and tops.
If you want the proper ingredients to make your own at home it is 70% flour, 20% shredded dried agricultural waste (like grain stalks and leaves) and 10% natural limestone. They don't say this but I think you should be adding egg?
“'Autarky' pays homage to the uncomplicated, the simple and the everyday," explain the designers. "The collection suggests an alternative way of producing goods where inherited knowledge is used to find sustainable and uncomplicated solutions." Something I touched on last week in the post about Design Before Fashion.

More Than A Paper Bag!
Well Anya Hindmarch's 'Im Not A Plastic Bag' has just been pushed aside. Say HELLO to Paris designer Saskia Diez's Paiper Bags. Made out of a synthetic paper that is extremely light but at the same time extremely robust. Waterproof, tearproof and100% recyclable. The only downside to this stylish solution is the cost. Starting at 83 Euro it isn't making sustainable living very afordable. But if you are a designer for the High Street take note!!! I would love to pick up my groceries in such a bag and I know I'm not alone.

How To Be Green - Easy Updates
"The best way to garden is to put on a wide-brimmed straw hat
and some old clothes. And with a hoe in one hand and a cold
drink in the other, tell somebody else where to dig".

I adore stylist Deb McLean, from Busy Being Fabulous, iphone photos. I have been a big lover for a long time now in using grass to cover outdoor furniture. My love affair started with architects Fung + Blatt's grass chaise lounge they designed at the begining of 2000. It's such a simple, cheap yet striking contribution to any garden. It would work for a small patio or for an estate. Only thing you need to remeber is it's living so don't forget to water!
Deb has provided us a great starting point to get creative in the garden. One other thing green and white is such a great colour combo to create a crisp, clean and fresh look. Perfect for an outdoor room xxx
