OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge

Today on Operation Write Home they have a Midweek Throwdown Challenge!! This cute little pillow was our inspiration!!! I used the colors and one of the flowers as my inspiration!!!
I immediately thought of  the 'Pretty Amazing' stamp set from SU! when I saw the two big flowers in red.

I did attempt to make my own background paper using different stamps; using flowers and the colors from the pillow....but I didn't like how it turned out,so I made this card. I used mainly the greens, pinks and the dark brown from the pillow and the one flower that's reddish pink on the corners of the pillow!! Well, here's the deets on the card...thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Recipe for card:
  •  Card stocks: Certainly Celery,WW,Early Espresso,Regal Rose, and Rose Red
  • Cuttle Bug Folders: Swiss Dots,Textile,Floral Fantasy
  • Square Lattice Bigshot Folder
  • Stamp Sets: Elements of Style and Pretty Amazing
  • Inks: Rose Red,Certainly Celery,Early Espresso and Close to Cocoa

Rose Easel Card

Hey guys!! Thanks for stopping by!! Well,I made a rose out of the ornament punch from Stampin' Up!. I have seen these around on other blogs and stuff and I thought I'd give it a go!! I have a loyal customer on my Etsy who is always having me do a custom order for her. Anyways, she needed a rose card and wanted me to put a saying on the inside and the outside....so I used my computer for that part. I did modify the way other people have done there roses a bit. Basically the base is the same....but instead of the inside like the ones I've seen....I played around until I could get a 'flatter' look....it seemed too bulky or high to be able to mail or even fit in an envelope...so I just played with it a bit until I felt like I looked OK!! I hope you like it and more so ,I hope my customer loves it!! Here is the deets on the card!! See ya'!
Recipe for card:
  • Card stocks: Blush Blossom,Regal Rose,Rose Red,and Old Olive
  • inks: Always Artichoke,Regal Rose,Rose Red,and Close to Cocoa
  • Large and scalloped oval punches and Ornament punch
  • Ribbon from Stash
  • Textile cuttlebug folder
  • StoryBook Cartridge for Cricut Expression(layered swirly mat)

Two Cards For Etsy Customer

Hello and thanks for stopping by today! I am sharing two cards that I made over the weekend for a regular Etsy customer of mine. She always has me think outside the box! She will tell me about the person that she needs a card for. She tells me colors, theme and what she wants on the card. Sometimes it takes me awhile to come up with something I think will be good enough. She needed a sunflower card, and wanted the sunflowers to be 3-d to look realistic. I used my cricut to cut the flowers and the spritzer tool to add an interesting touch. The next card she asked me to make is for an accountant. She wanted math signs($,+,=,-,etc.)....I don't have anything like that at all. It still needed to be pretty for a woman ....I was at a loss. I asked my husband for help,he gave me some ledger paper, then I used a digital stamp from MDS and printed it out along with the word 'friend'....I hope she likes it! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!
