Snowy Joy

I am continuing to work on my Christmas cards and this time I am using "Christmas Joy Snowy" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I have a ton of people on my card giving list that love snowmen so this stamp and card are perfect for one of them.

After stamping on alcohol marker friendly paper, I coloured with Copic markers and uses a notched rectangle die to cut out the stamp. Patterned paper from Echo Park was perfect for this 5" x 5" card. I added some sparkly ribbon and white glitter dots for a bit of sparkle.

Christmas Joy

I can say it is officially winter is here where I live. I am writing this post on Sunday evening after spending the day in what felt like a snow globe. We were "blessed" enough to be in a snowsquall band that blanketed the area from Saturday night until around noon today with a good 20+ cms of snow and blizzard like conditions most of the day.

I hunkered down in my craft room because really....what else is there to do <smile> and worked on some Christmas cards. I wasn't going to go outside to build a snowman in that weather so I decided to build one on a Christmas card with "Christmas Joy Snowy" from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

I stamped this adorable snowman on alcohol marker friendly paper, coloured him with Copic markers and cut him out using a stitched tag. A combination of patterned paper from Echo Park and Memory Box were perfect for this cutie so I cut them to fit my A2 size card base and rounded the bottom corners. I cut a second tag from matching cardstock to place behind the stamped tag. The tag doesn't have a hole in it so I punched one and put some ribbon through the hole and down the back of tag.
I glued down my layers and added a branch, and a bow on top of the hole. Some clear sparkle pen added to the branches and star buttons and enamel dots finish off my card.

Christmas Joy!

It’s Wednesday, and this week I'm sharing a Christmas card featuring Christmas Joy Snowy - S228 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). I love snowmen, winter and Christmas! Growing up in a northern community, we had a lot of snow. It was always so much fun and seeing the snow fall on Christmas day was always wonderful. Where we live now, we don't get as much and it's always disappointing when we don't see snow on the ground for Christmas. It's ok for the other days, but Christmas is extra special. Hopefully, Christmas Joy Snowy will bring some snow for us this year on our special day. LOL!

To create the card this week, I first used my Cuttlebug and Creative Expressions by Sue Wilson - Festive Collection Peeking Snowflake to create a die cut out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card paper. I stamped the image and then coloured it in with Copic Markers. Once it was all coloured in, I added added some snowflakes to the sky using Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen. Clear - Wink of Stella was applied to all of the leaves. Stickles - Diamond was added to create the ground snow effect and I sprinkled some Martha Stewart Crafts - Crystal Fine Glitter on top of the Stickles while it was still wet. The coloured image was set aside to let it dry.

I die cut the larger oval using the same dies out of Crafts - Thick Glitter Craft Paper. I love this paper, but in order to prevent the glitter from getting everywhere, I first sprayed it with some hairspray.

The card was now ready to assemble. I used Recollections - Winter 4.25" x 5.5" card for my base. The large oval was adhered directly onto the base using 2-sided tape. The main image was added using 3M VHB - 2 sided tape and some snowflake embellishments were added to complete the card.

Sharing some Christmas Joy!

Good morning & happy Monday!  Today I wanted to share this cutie I finished up this morning.  This is Christmas Joy Snowy.

I really enjoyed colouring the rich red on this snowman.  I always colour the red last, how about you?  I do that because I get distracted when I'm colouring sometimes & tend to mess it up.....getting the red out can be quite a chore....so for me it comes last lol.

I used a couple of rectangle stitched dies to cut out this image...and well....I sort of cut the image out with the die on the wrong side...told you I get distracted lol.  I added some rich red organza ribbon and a few sparkly enamel dots with some Stardust Stickles on the berries & poof it was all done.

Copic combos
Green - G09, G05, G03
Red - R89, R59, R39, R37
Black - C9, C7, C5
Snow - C0, C1
Brown - E34, E33, E31
Nose - YR18, YR16, YR15
Cheeks - R01 with 0 Blender

Enjoy a wonderful day filled with crafty hugs,

Christmas Joy

Welcome HH fans;

We can't win with the weather, if it isn't freezing cold, it is raining cats and dogs and then there is the never ending heat wave.  As we are currently in the midst of a heat wave, what better way of cool off than by creating Christmas cards in July.

Yes it is 5 months before Christmas, but it is a great time to start the stash that will be needed for when Christmas does arrive.

For today's card I have used Christmas Joy Snowy from High Hopes Stamps.  I usually don't do an inside for the card, but I did this time using the sentiment.

Christmas Joy!

Hi HH Fans!
It's Christmas in July over on the High Hopes and One Crazy Stamper Blogs and I thought this adorable Snowman called "Christmas Joy Snowy"was perfect for this theme!
It's been fun to pull out my Christmas papers and these papers are from the Echo Park I Love Christmas 6x6 collection. I added the "Think Snow" sentiment which is perfect to remember on these hot summer days! I love the Stampendous Spoonful of Snow added under Snowy. You sprinkle it on and heat from underneath to melt it. It's just so pretty in person!
Here's the decorated inside with the HH sentiment called "Work of Art".
Copics Used:
N5, N6, N8, C1, B0000, B000
R35, R37, R39, YG63, YG67
