1938 Alta Voiturette

This car took part in the Maserati UK Race for Pre 1952 Grand Prix Cars at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 2000.
It's the 1938 Alta of Martin Redmond, built by Geoffrey Taylor's Alta Car and Engineering Company for voiturette racing in the late 1930s, and was driven at Brooklands by the original owner, Hugh Curling Hunter. The car has a 2 litre engine and is chassis #62IS.

Alta 2-litre

This is one of the cars that took part in the race for Pre-1941 Standard & Modified Racing Cars at the VSCC's Hawthorn Memorial Trophies race meeting at Oulton Park in July 2015.
It's David Baldock's 1938/39 Alta 2-litre, which was driven in the race by Duncan Ricketts. The car has a supercharged twin cam straight-4 1,960cc engine and competed in pre-war voiturette and post-war Formula 2 races.
Here's Duncan Ricketts during the race at Druids Corner

I've featured this car previously, most recently on 23 October 2016

It's David Baldock's 1938 2-litre supercharged Alta which was driven in that race by Paul Jaye, and on 4 November 2015 I featured the same car at the Richard Seaman Memorial Trophies meeting at Oulton Park in 1993,

Alta Voiturette

I photographed this car at the Silverstone Historic Tribute meeting in June 2004, where it competed in the VSCC's Hawthorn Memorial Trophy & Hawthorn Spanish Trophy race.
It's Martin Redmond's 1938 Alta Voiturette which competed for the Spanish Trophy in that race. On 22 August 2015 I featured this car at the Richard Seaman Memorial Trophy meeting at Donington Park in June 2003.

Alta 2-litre

This is a photograph I took at the Richard Seaman Memorial Trophies Meeting at Oulton Park in June 1993. There are two trophies, one for Pre-War Historic racing cars and the other for Vintage (Pre-1931) racing cars, and this car competed for the Historic Trophy.
It's a 1938 Alta 2-litre and was driven in the race by Paul Jaye. I showed a photograph of another of the pre-war Altas on 22 August 2015.

Alta Voiturette

This car participated in the race for the Historic Seaman Trophy at the Richard Seaman Historic Trophies meeting at Donington Park in June 2003.
It's a 1938 Alta Voiturette and was driven in the race by Martin Redmond. The programme of the event said this about the Alta entries:

The two Altas, that of David Baldock driven by Paul Jaye (121) and the other of Martin Redmond (4), can always be expected to challenge the rest. The Alta with its very advanced chassis with all independent suspension was designed and built by Geoffrey Taylor in a small workshop in Tolworth, southwest of London.

It looks as if this particular car was the subject of an H&H auction in July this year, but didn't sell.
