1926 Bentley 3/8 Litre

This is a photograph I took in the paddock at the Vintage Sports Car Club's Richard Seaman Memorial Trophies meeting at Oulton Park in August 1992.
It's got a faded number 2 on the grille, but the race number on the scuttle is 68 and it's Stanley Mann's 1926 Bentley 3/8 Litre, and is chassis 1157.

Bentley 3/8

This was one of the competitors in the Richard Seaman Memorial Vintage Trophy Race at the VSCC's Richard Seaman Memorial Trophies Meeting at Oulton Park in June 1982.
It's Tim Llewellyn approaching Lodge Corner in his Bentley 3/8, a 1926 Bentley 3 litre, chassis LM1338, with a 1930 8.3 litre engine.  This was 36 years ago, and as far as I'm aware he's still racing the car today.

Bentley Jackson Special

I took this photograph at the Old Hairpin during the Vintage Seaman Trophy Race at the VSCC's SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in September 2005.
The leading car is Stanley Mann's 1927 6½ litre Bentley Jackson Special - otherwise known as 'Old Mother Gun' - driven by Michael Rudnig. Following is another Bentley, the 1926/30 3/8 of Simon Llewellyn (a 3-litre chassis with an 8-litre engine), and the 1,260cc 1930 Morgan Super Aero of Duncan Wood.

On 26 February 2014 I showed photographs of 'Old Mother Gun' that I'd taken at Oulton Park in 1996.

Bentley 3/8 litre

This car competed in a scratch race and a handicap race at the VSCC's Richard Seaman Memorial Trophies meeting at Oulton Park in June 1993.
It's Spencer Flack's 1928 Bentley 3/8 litre, originally a Bentley 3 litre, chassis TN1569, but rebuilt in the early 1990s with an 8 litre engine after being written off, allegedly after an accident with a steam roller.

Bentleys

Any meeting organised by the Vintage Sports Car Club is always going to attract a good number of Bentleys, and the SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in June 2008 was no exception.
The car nearest the camera is the 1929 Bentley 4½ litre Le Mans driven in Sunday's hour-long Motor Racing Legends Pre-war Sports Cars race by Stanley Mann and Michael Rudnig. The red car next to that is possibly the 1927 supercharged Bentley 3 litre driven by Joe and Rachel Singer in the same race. The silver car looks like the 1927 Bentley 3/8 litre of Adam Singer that he shared with Stanley Mann in Saturday's 2 hour-long VSCC White House Memorial Pre-war Sports Car Team Relay Race. On 9 August 2017 I showed a photograph of this car at Donington Park in 2006. The next car appears to have three racing numbers and seems to be the 1928 Bentley 3/4½ litre Le Mans driven in the Relay Race by Joseph Singer as number 171 and Stuart Fearnside as number 172. It may also be the car shared by Adam Singer and Stuart Fearnside in Sunday's hour-long race - that was number 14, but is shown in the programme of the event as a 1927 car, not 1928. The racing number on the last car appears to be a 21, and if so it's the 1929 supercharged Bentley 4½ litre of Martin Overington that he drove in the Sunday hour-long race.

Bentley 3/8 litre

This car was in a team of Bentleys that took part in the 2 hour long VSCC Pre-War Sports Car Team Relay Race at the VSCC's SeeRed meeting at Donington Park in September 2006.
It's the 1927 Bentley 3/8 litre of Adam Singer, and the original 3 litre Red Label Tourer is described in this history of the car when it was put up for auction in 2003 by H&H Auctioneers. It was apparently bought at that auction for a client by Stanley Mann Racing and was in need of a complete rebuild, during which it was given the 8 litre engine.
