This was one of the competitors in the Derek Bell Trophy race at the Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2008.
It's Gregory Thornton at Lodge Corner in his 1972 Surtees TS11. The TS11 was built for Formula 5000 racing and Gijs van Lennep won the 1972 Rothmans European Formula 5000 Championship driving one of these cars. Gregory Thornton's car is recorded in this oldracingcars.com car history as 'the John Yandell car'.

1970 Lola T300

This car competed in the Formula 5000 class of the HSCC Pre '71 Single Seater Championship race at he Historic Sports Car Club's Spring Historic Race Meeting at Oulton Park in May 1987.
It's shown in the programme of the event as a 1970 Lola T300 entered by Autocavan Components Ltd and driven by Geoff Thomas, seen here during the race at Deer Leap. Formula 5000 was a intended to be a low cost formula for single-seater cars with a maximum engine capacity of 5 litres, usually powered by American V8 engines of that size. Geoff Thomas's car is chassis HU10 which originally went to the USA where it changed hands several times until it returned to the UK and was next seen in competition in 1985.

On 11 June 2016 I showed photographs of this car with its previous owner at Oulton Park in 1986 where it was described in the programme as a 1971 car.

1968 Surtees TS5A

This car contested the Formula 5000 Class in the Pre '71 Single Seater Championship race at the Historic Sports Car Club's Spring Historic Race Meeting at Oulton Park in May 1987.
It's the 1968 Surtees TS5A, chassis #TS5A/007 of Jon Reakes, originally a Team Surtees car raced in the USA by David Hobbs in 1970. In 1971 it returned to the UK where it was leased to French driver HervĂ© Bayard  who competed in two races in the UK with the car, which then had a Chevrolet engine. At the end of that year it went to South Africa where it was given a Ford engine and remained there till at least 1974. By 1987 it had returned to the UK where it was acquired by Jon Reakes, and at some time between 1987 and 1992 the colour of the car was changed from blue to red.

On 1 February 2017 I showed a photograph taken in 1995 of the car at Oulton Park in its new red livery.

1976 Chevron B37

This car competed in the HSCC Derek Bell Trophy race at the Historic Sports Car Club's Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2005.
It's Simon Hadfield's 1977 Chevron B37, a Formula 5000 car and the only B37 built. It was made for the Racing Team VDS with a Morand Chevrolet V8 engine and was driven by Peter Gethin and Teddy Pillette in the 1976 season. A note about the car in the Gold Cup programme says this:

'The last F5000 car was a stunner, built for 1976, when Team VDS took one-off to the USA and Australia. Second was best result. Bruce Allison subsequently raced it in the UK's ShellSport Gp8 series, before fellow Aussie Ivan Tighe took it racing and hillclimbing back home. Now winning in Historics with Simon Hadfield.'

The photograph was taken at Lodge Corner.

.....and here's Frank Lyons rounding Lodge Corner during the Derek Bell Trophy race, There's a website that records details of all Lola T332s produced, but I can't identify this car from that list.
