Cooper T39 Bobtail

This car competed in the Race for Pre-1959 Drum-Braked Sports Cars at the HGPCA's Donington International Grand Prix meeting at Donington Park in May 2004.
It's Dutchman Adrian van der Kroft's 1955 Cooper T39 Bobtail, and it was named the 'Bobtail' because of the way the tail of the car was cut off just behind the rear wheels.

Jean Behra

Here's a photograph take during practice for the BARC 200 race at Aintree in April 1958.
It's French racing driver Jean Behra who qualified his BRM P25 in pole position, but retired from the race with brake problems.

Lea Francis

I photographed this car in the one of the spectator parking area at the Richard Seaman Memorial Trophies meeting at Oulton Park in June 1993.
I labelled it as a Lea Francis 2½ litre, but whether I found out at the time that this was so or I identified it as such later, I don't know. It could just as easily be the earlier Type 14 Sports.

Friday's Ferrari

This car was present at the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1994, but didn't take part in any of the races at the meeting.
It's a 1960 Ferrari Dino 246 F1, and the car alongside it is the 1956 Maserati 250F, chassis number 2528, driven by Nigel Corner in the Chopard HGPCA 100-Mile Grand Prix Car Race, so it's logical to assume that the Ferrari is the Corner family's car also, chassis number 0788F.

Adam Gittings

I went along to Oulton Park last Saturday to the Thundersport GB Championships 2016 meeting in which one of our local riders, Adam Gittings, was taking part. He did quite well in his two races, finishing in 10th and then 8th place. Here's some of the photographs I took of him that day.
Here's Adam in the pit garage.
For the morning Warm Up Session I went to Deer Leap, just after Lodge Corner.
For the first series of races I trekked across to Britten's chicane.
It's about as far away from the paddock and start line as you can get.
As you can see from the logo on his Suzuki GSX-R600 Supersport, Adam is sponsored by Selco Builders Warehouse.

All the photographs I took on Saturday are in this Flickr album.

Lotus 25

The theme for the Coys International Historic Festival meeting at Silverstone in July 1993 was 'British Racing Green' with a display of British cars, some of which participated in demonstration runs on the track. Here's one of the cars that took part in the demonstration runs.
It's a 1962 Lotus 25, and is here being taken out for one of the demonstration runs by Trevor Taylor who partnered Jim Clark in the Lotus team in the 1962 and 1963 seasons. Jim Clark finished second in the Drivers' World Championship in 1962 and won it the following year.

Jaguar XK150

This car competed in the ITD Consultants/JEC Jaguar XK Challenge Race for the CMC Gold Cup at the Gold Cup meeting at Oulton Park in August 2003.
It's Graham Love's 1957 Jaguar XK150, seen here exiting Lodge Corner and heading towards Deer Leap. The XK150 followed the XK120 and XK140, and was succeeded in 1961 by the E-Type.
