Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Come for a Walk with Me...

It's a beautiful day! I have some time, let's go for a walk!

The light is wonderful for photography; what neat shadows on this wall!
These maple leaves are not finished turning yet, the veins show up  well against the green.
Probably this lawn has been raked once or twice. The bench is for my friend Paulie; simple and functional.
On the other side of the same house, look! The gate is open! Isn't it a delightful shade of red?
I just love yellow leaves against a blue sky, don't you? Both colors are more lovely then.
Golden glow;
sunshine through yellow leaves!
The willow is just starting to get ready for winter, but this boat has only to be moved off the street for its nap.
A neighborhood kitty watching me watching (and photographing) her!
It's tempting to try to pet her, but let's not disturb her from her observation post.
Another open gate! Some people must have been in a hurry this morning!
I think these are tiny apples, but I'm not sure. I love the fall colors, though!
I would like to scuff through the leaves in this alley...but, no, not this time...!
This is an old tree, may it live many more years!

One more shot, and then I have to go inside.
 Thanks for coming with me!

Autumn Reflection

I stop here often to find photos. Some of my other reflections were captured just the other side of the road, looking south. You will find them here. This view is looking north.

Autumn Bench and Sky

There are several benches like this in my town. This one was abandoned to the wind, rain, and gray skies last Wednesday.

It is one of four placed around this fountain which was also abandoned, though on a hot summer day it is a popular place for children to cool off.
Autumn is here, can winter be far behind?
For more skies, click the Skywatch Friday link on the sidebar, and for more benches visit Visual Norway and For the Love of Benches.
