EDM Challenge # 4 and a Freebie

This challenge was to draw a mug or cup....this is one of my favorites because it is so obviously hand painted. A lot of the blurring of the colors on the sketch are actually on the cup. :)

Today's freebie is the Pink element set 3.

You can download it here.

EDM Challenge 178 and 1

I just started yesterday on the Everyday Matters weekly challenges. This week's challenge is 'Draw Something Red', so I did a watercoler sketch of a candle.

Everyday Matters has a list of all the past challenges for new menbers who want to 'catch up' with everyone else. Since I only have one good new sketchbook for now, I can't do my original idea of doing each challenge in exact order as listed. Instead, I'll be drawing the past challelnges as daily (as possible) sketches in between the weekly challenges.

This is Challenge 1 - Draw a Shoe

I defintely LOVE this sketchbook I bought Wednesday! It's the Canson Universal. It is a handy 5.5 x 8.5" with 65 lb paper. The paper is almost as smooth as bristol, so it takes ink like a dream and even though it is a light paper, takes light watercolor washes quite well with little buckling.
(NO I don't get paid by them )

OOOOOPSSSS!

Apparently I made a major boo-boo and uploaded the same element color twice in a row.....my bad! I have the CORRECT set today - Orange. I also have a couple of pencil pieces from my stash.

THIS is the correct element set.

You can download it here.

New sketch

I wanted to share a NEW piece I just finished this evening. On a group I'm in on Yahoo - Rat Lovers United - one of our members posted a wonderful picture of a squirrel in her backyard. Shari gave me permission to do a painting from her picture. This is a preliminary/practice drawing

More Everyday Matters

Here's my next installment of my past watercolors. The old building is actually a pen & ink with watercolor washes. Pen & ink is my second favorite medium to use. I think I am a 'penaholic' - I can't seem to NOT buy an ink pen or a new ink if I have the money.
