Food Republic is a food court chain run by the Bread Talk Group based in Singapore. The concept combines local hawker fare with mini restaurants in an open dining concept. There have 3 branches in Bangkok which located on 6^th floor of Central Plaza Grand Rama IX, Mega Bangna and 4^th Floor of Siam Center.

Before we went to Siam Discovery for Madame Tussauds, we went to Siam Center to search for breakfast. We did not take SkyTrain BTS to reach Siam mall while we walked to there from The Berkeley Hotel. We just walked straight with the sky bridge as it is very convenience compare walk on the road. From the hotel to the Mo Chit Station (nearest BTS Station from The Berkeley Hotel), you will see a sky bridge which will lead you to the BTS Station or the destination that you want.

Mr.Jones Orphanage in Siam Center

Siam Center is one of the shopping mall in Bangkok. It is near with other Siam mall such as Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery and Siam Square. Inside of this mall has the most famous café which is Mr. Jones Orphanage but we did not go there to enjoy the dessert.

Cash Card

Food Republic accepts Cash Card only, no cash accepted so you need to go to counter to get a Cash Card. The concept of Cash Card was example you can purchase 200 Baht of Cash Card and your Cash Card will have 190 Baht in value that you can use to purchase your meal plus 10 Baht deposit. After your meal, you can go to counter to ask for refundable. Then the cashier will refund to you the remaining value in your card as well as your deposit.  It means that you need to estimate the Cash Card value that you want to purchase to avoid insufficient that need to top-up. The amounts in card are valid for 90 days from last purchase or top-up date.

As few days in Bangkok, almost every day will eat heavy meal like Tom Yam so at here I choose for light meal.  I went to Yoo Fish Ball to buy fish ball noodle that cost me 60 Baht. Before this, I had purchased 100 Baht Cash Card so after purchased fish ball noodle, the receipt will show that my balance will be 30 Baht (90 Baht minus with 60 Baht) and include 10 Baht deposit.

When wrote for this post, I had online search for Yoo Fish Ball and seeing that it has many best recommendation via online. While my dining experience with Yoo Fish Ball was so-so as the portion that given was small.

Except me, all of my friends still look for some Tom Yam as their breakfast such as rice and noodle that looks more attractive compare with my meal (of course look attractive and delicious compare with mine as I ate for super light soup noodle..haha).

The area in Food Republic is big and comfortable. In there has many stalls for you to choose so you will not need to worry the choice of food will be limited and you just need to headache about what food you would like to try.

A Night with Millionaire $$$

This post must write in my blog for my memories as this dinner was so much different with the dinner that I went before especially the performance of the night.

As my seat was no so strategic for taking photo so I just managed to take some pictures of sand performance as it display on a screen and LED dance that no so clear.

This night entertained by the song from Corey Su and the Band that came from Kuching. Papi Zak (standup comedian/ radio announcer) had talked some jokes to cheer up the night. There were so many jokes that he talked about and he ended up his jokes by telling that Chinese girls are superstitious as her Chinese girlfriend always think that he is laughing Buddha that will touching his stomach and said “Money come, money come!” Haha..

The performance that I like the most will be sand performance as I always watch through TV but now I can watch by live. This sand performance is different from the one that I saw from TV as it shows many famous places in Labuan such as Dataran Labuan, Labuan International Sea Sport complex, mosque and many more. 

As I did not took picture for this “The Magical Quick Dress Change Show” by Mark and Pinky so I tried google about it and found out that many of their videos in Youtube and below is one of the video that taken from Youtube:-

Besides “The Magical Quick Dress Change Show”, it has “LED Dance” that also comes from VIVAS Magic Entertainment. VIVAS Magic Entertainment is offering magical entertainment for corporate and special events worldwide.

This LED Dance was so cool and this also my first time to hear and watched this performance. It really opens my eyes.

As the theme of this dinner was “A Night with The Millionaire” so the prize also in million such as the prize will be 15,000 million in other currency so when currency exchange to Malaysia currency is not million. Haha.. It is a trick.  

Before the dinner start, each people at my table draw a number from the box. The grand prize was RM 5,000 which is so attractive. At the end of lucky draw, there were 2 people at my table get the prizes which were voucher and RM 100.

Pratunam Chicken Rice Shop

This chicken rice shop is located opposite of Platinum Fashion Mall in Pratunam. You can easily spot this shop through the color of uniform that wears by workers which is pink color. After came back from Terminal 21, we having our dinner at Pratunam Chicken Rice Shop by walking from The Berkeley Hotel.

When we at there, the services that provided by waiter was unfriendly. I think maybe she was tired after work for whole day that she did not have enough time to rest. Meet with unfriendly waiter, we were very fast to place the order without think too much because scared being scold due to spend much times on menu.

There have some longan above of the drink but did not have so many that I was feeling not enough in eating the longan. The drinks are quite big in size. One of my friends ordered for a coke.

The word of menu in Thai quite interesting that this dish also called as “salad” because in my mind that salad is come with some vegetable, fruits and sauce. Maybe this is the different of salad between Country?

We had ordered half chicken for four of us. The chicken is tender.

When we were finishing our dinner and sit for a while, there have child came to each table to sell things. If I not mistake, the different child had been came to my table for 3 times but my friends and I just pretend did not see them. This is the right choice by pretend not seeing them if not when I buy something from the first child then the second child will also ask you to buy it then it will nonstop for me to buy things from them.

Terminal 21: Stickhouse

When walked and took pictures in Terminal 21, we had spotted Stickhouse at there. Before this, I had read online that the Stickhouse in Bangkok has ice-cream that with World Cup themes so we brought some ice-creams for try.

The ice-cream in Stickhouse was so many choices that I did not know which to choose. All seems so delicious.

One of my friends choose for Germany theme ice-cream as he was fans for Germany team in World Cup. The Germany theme ice-cream comes with 3 colors that have 3 flavors which are Chocolate, Roselle and mango taste. My friends said the mango flavor was so sour.

I choose for Mango Sticky Rice ice-cream as I was missing with Mango Sticky Rice in Krabi. This ice-cream costs me 109 Baht. When eat for this ice-cream, I can feel the sticky rice in this ice-cream too. It is so delicious.
