In this I will share the basic philosophy of being a Proverbs 31 and Titus 2 woman that dedicates herself to the principles of Love, Support and Encouragement. That desires to bring honor to their spouse, family, community and glory to their Creator.

Basic Home Remedies
Basic Home Remedies:
Using Baking Soda for HEALTH:
1. Natural Deodorant- Sprinkle or pat on pure baking soda on your armpits for a natural deodorant. This is most useful for those summer months when one tends to chaff.
2. Stinky Shoe Remedy- Sprinkle generous amount into sneakers or other shoes to help absorb odors.
3. Remove Splinters- Make a paste of baking soda and water and apply to the bottom of a bandage, and apply that overnight. In the morning, the splinter should be much easier to remove.
4. Antacid Use- about a 1/4 teaspoon in a small cup of water and drink to help reduce acid.
5. Mosquito Bites- Heres something I tried out this summer that worked really well. We had been outside alot and I had gotten a lot of misquito bites on my legs that were itching reallly badly. Mix a thick paste of baking soda and water and apply to the bites (helps if you haven't scratched them yet. In about 1 minute the itching stops and in about one hour the redness and swelling have gone away!! It was wonderful, and I used this remedy the rest of the summer with great results.
6. Cold Sore Remedy- Make a thick paste of baking soda and water and apply to cold sores at least two times a day.
7. Treats Burns- On your list of baking soda tips, put that it is good for burns.
For example:
I had a neighbour come over with a bad deep frying grease burn to her whole hand. I told her to put her hand over the sink. I had made up a liquid paste of baking soda and water, fairly thick and poured it over the hand. I said this will hurt just for the initial time I put it on, then will be ok. I then wrapped it in gauze to protect it and to keep the soda from going all over. She simply just needed to regauzed it daily.
The beauty of it is that there was no blistering and no scar later.

Breaking Yokes - Part V.
Breaking Yokes - Part V.
Are you feeling liberated yet? Feeling those yokes and chains falling away from you as you realize just how much the Enemy has had a field day playing around in your head? Doesn't it feel completely awesome to realize that God's Word speaks against every single negative thought you could ever have? Praise the Lord!
26. God is just so far from me
Let's fast from the thought that says: "God is far from me." Not only is God with us. Not only is God for us. But He is also IN US.
Remember, that the serpent was subtle in Genesis 3. Thoughts that can defeat us are often very subtle thoughts.
We have to learn to not only discern between right and wrong; but we must discern between "right" and "almost right."
It's "almost right" to ask God to come down and help us. It sounds holy. It sounds humble. But you will truly be free when you discover, HE IS ALREADY HERE. Emanuel means "God with us." When Jesus came to the earth, He put an end to the separation between God and man.
Let's fast from the thought that says: "God is far from me."
Not only is God with us. Not only is God for us. But He is also IN US.
This is an amazing mystery, and we won't understand it completely until we are in heaven. Colossians 1:27 says "...this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."
It's "almost right" to believe that if we become holier, we can get closer to God.
But the separation between us and God is a myth. It's an illusion. The devil wants us to believe it to keep us powerless and misinformed concerning our connection with God. It's true that in Isaiah 59:2 it says that "your sins have made a separation between you and your God." But Jesus TOOK AWAY the sin through His blood. Therefore, THERE IS NO SEPARATION between us and God, if we have been born-again. It's our failure to recognize this that keeps us in bondage, feeling distant from God. We feel sometimes, He is so far away. But He is not. He is here. He is there.
For us today, let's replace this "almost right" thinking with "right" thinking.
1. Psalm 46:1 says, "He is an ever-PRESENT help in times of trouble."
WOW! You have to love this thought. Have you ever had times of trouble? (Ya think!) But notice, He is ever-present. THEN, it says, "help" in times of trouble. It is His "ever-presence" that brings us help in times of trouble.
2. Take Him at His Word.
Jesus said in Matthew 28:20, "Lo, I am with you always; even to the end
of the age." There is no way to misinterpret this verse. "I am with you always." That has to warm your heart and comfort you."
3. Christianity is not a life of attainment, but a life of recognition.
Philemon 6 says, "that your faith might become effective, through the acknowledgement of those things which are already in you, in Christ Jesus." Many people focus on "attaining" God's presence and God's blessing. But the scripture is clear: We must recognize and acknowledge that He is already in us. His gifts are already in us. This produces power that MONEY and RELIGION cannot buy! The first part of the verse says - this is what makes your faith become effective. Acknowledge. Recognize. He is already in you. His gifts are in you.
4. Christianity is not us "finding God."
It's that He came and found us; took us into His arms; spilled His blood to cleanse us from all unrighteousness; and breathed His very Spirit into us. Now He lives in every person that has accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord. Romans 8:11 says, "and if the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you; then He who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead, will give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit that indwells in you."
5. Eliminate every thought that says, "God come down and help me" or "Send your Spirit."
He has already come. He has already sent His Spirit. Our fight, our battle is to believe this whether we feel His presence or not. He is in you!
6. It's not: us living FOR God. It's us LIVING FROM GOD.
Galatians 2:20 says, "It is no longer I who lives, but Christ lives in me."
David said in Psalm 139:7-9, "Where can I go from your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go to heave you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there. If I take the wings of the dawn and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even THERE your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me."
THINK IT & SAY IT:
I decide today to eliminate the thought that I am separated from God in any way.
He is an ever-present help in my time of trouble. His ever-presence brings me help! He is in my boat. And I will rest in knowing I am in His presence.
I recognize that He is already in me. That's what makes my faith work. He has found me and put His Spirit in me. The very same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, is living on the inside of me.
God is not far off. He is right here, right now. I am surrounded by His love and enveloped in His presence. Therefore I am not afraid.
He is my shield and refuge. My fortress and my very present help today.
I am not trying to live FOR God; I am living FROM Him. His power is in me. His presence is in me. His love is in me. And nothing can ever separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus my Lord!
27. I'm Alone In This Storm
When we fast from wrong thinking, we're not just discerning between "right" and "wrong"; we also need to distinguish betwen "right" and "almost right."
There are many things we have believed that are almost right. t's "almost right" to believe that if we worship God with all our heart, we can usher ourselves into the presence of God. Many ministers will even say, "let's press into His presence." But you see, beloved, we are in His presence already, because we have passed through the veil that separated us from the holy of holies. It is through the body and blood of Jesus that we pass through the veil. (Hebrews 10:19-20)
We now stand in His presence unashamed, without guilt, without condemnation, without separation.
Building upon the last couple of days, today we're fasting from the thought that says, "I'm alone in this." "Where is God when I need Him most."
When the disciples tried to cross over to the other side of the sea in the boat (Mark 4:36-40), they were overwhelmed by the storm that struck their ship. They thought they would perish. They feared for their life, bailing out water furiously. Have you ever been in a storm? The waters crashing against you; you don't know what to do; you feel helpless. You cry out, "Lord where are you? Don't you care?"
The disciples forgot one small detail in the midst of their storm ... Jesus was in the boat with them! There was nothing greater than His presence!
Let's overcome the thought that says, "I'm alone in this storm." "Where is God when I need Him most?"
1. He is in the boat with you!
In Mark 4:36-40, Jesus was asleep in the boat. Someone asked me once - "how do we wake Jesus up, when He is asleep in our boat, in the middle of a storm?" Well, I said, "You don't wake Him up. You rest with Him!" If He's not worried, don't you worry. HIS PRESENCE calmed the storm then, just as it will do now.
2. The disciples didn.t need Jesus to awake. They needed to awake to the fact that God was with them.
When you know He is with you, there is nothing to fear; therefore, there was nothing to fear. Psalm 23:4 says, "though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear NO EVIL for You are with me!"
3. Great miracle: Jesus calmed the storm. Greater miracle: Jesus slept IN THE MIDST of it.
When you realize He is in your boat with you, you will have supernatural peace. Calming the storm is great. Peace in the midst of it is greater!
4. DO NOT MISTAKE A FIRE IN YOUR LIFE FOR GOD'S ABSENCE.
In Daniel 3:22-25, Jesus was the 4th man in the fire with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. His presence was felt in the middle of the fire. Just because you don't feel His presence, doesn't mean He isn't there. BELIEVE HE IS WITH YOU, and eventually, your situation will FEEL HIS PRESENCE!
5. Psalm 91:10 says, "No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your tent."
Notice, the next verse says, "for He will give His angel charge concerning you." There are many angels involved in our lives, but this is talking about HIS ANGEL. The Old Testament "Angel" is Jesus Christ. He is Lord, therefore He has charge concerning us!
THINK IT & SAY IT:
There is nothing greater than God's presence, and His presence is with me and in me. As surely as He was with Moses, He is with me.
I am not trying to get in God's presence. I am already in, through the blood of Jesus. He is in my boat with me. He is not "over there." He is "here" right now - with me and in me!
I awake to the fact that He is with me. There is no separation. I can rest with Him, in the midst of any storm. I can walk with Him in the midst of the fire.
I am fearless, because He is with me. Therefore, no evil shall befall me, nor shall any plague come near my dwelling place - my church, my home, my body, my life - in Jesus. name.
28. It's Just So Hard
Today, we're fasting from the thought that says, "It's so hard!"
Many people don't even start some things because they have conditioned themselves to think it's too hard. We defeat ourselves with this thinking, before we even start.
Let's fast from this thought:
1. realize you are yoked to Him.
Many people find the Christian life so difficult because they are trying to do it on their own. The Christian life was not meant to be lived that way. We were meant to be yoked to Jesus. He said, "Take My yoke upon you. For My yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28)
2. Accept that some things are difficult in your own strength, but God wouldn't ask us to do something that He doesn't give us the strength to do. (1 Corinthians 10:12-13) His grace is sufficient for you. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
3. Keep in mind (meditate on) the fact that we are one with Him.
2 Corinthians 13:5 says, "Do you not recognize that Christ Jesus is in you?" He is in you, so whatever you are facing, He is facing with you. Your problem is His problem. Your trial is His trial. Your debt is His debt.
4. Meditate on God's nature; His ability.
Jeremiah 32:17 says, "Ah Lord God, Thou hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too difficult for Thee." The Message Translation says, "Dear God, my Master, You created earth and sky by Your great power, by merely stretching out Your arm! THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN'T DO!"
5. Matthew 19:26 "With God all things are possible."
6. Don't focus on doing things "for Jesus", but FROM Jesus.
Galatians 2:20 says "It's no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me and the life that I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and delivered Himself up for me."
You see, what is impossible and too hard for man, is easy for God. The God of the impossible lives in you.
THINK IT & SAY IT:
I am not alone in the challenges and responsibilities of my life. I am yoked to Jesus. His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
The Holy Spirit is my Helper. He lives in me and gives me His strength, encouragement and power.
God knows what I'm going through, and He has given me the grace and ability to make it. I have a covenant with God, therefore my battles are His battles.
Nothing is too difficult for Him, and all things are possible for me, because I believe. I live life from the strength that He supplies in me.
I can do all things through Christ, who infuses me with His strength!
29. God must somehow be mad at me
Many people think that God is mad at them, or the reason bad things are happening is because God is against me. Or, perhaps you don't think He's overtly against you, but He's just not aggressively helping you.
Today, we are fasting from the thought that says, "God is mad at me."
Wrong thoughts are designed by the devil and our flesh to undermine our faith. If you think God is mad at you, you won't be EXPECTANT toward God to bless you.
Let's take this thought captive (the word "captive" means: "to conquer with a sword." We conquer wrong thinking with the sword of God's Word!)
1. God is not mad AT you. He is mad ABOUT you!
When you accept this thought, you will have confidence, expectation and peace. Who couldn't use that! How do I know this is true? Romans 8:37 says "Nothing can separate you from the love of God..." You are forgiven (1 John 1:9) and you are LOVED (1 John 4:10).
2. Think this new thought: God loves me as much as He loves Jesus!
In John 17:23 Jesus says to the Father: "I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, that the world may know that You sent Me, and LOVED THEM, AS MUCH AS YOU HAVE LOVED ME!" What an amazing truth. God loves you as much as He loves Jesus. And there is no way God can be mad at Jesus.
3. He thinks precious thoughts about me ALL THE TIME!
Psalm 139:17-18 says "How precious are Your thoughts toward me, O God...If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with you!"
4. What God said to Jesus, is the SAME to you: "You are My beloved Son. In You, I am well-pleased." (Mark 1:11) Hallelujah!
He doesn't sound mad at Jesus! He sounds "mad about Him"! Well, 1 John 4:16 says, "As He is, so are we." Look, there is no getting around this marvelous truth: God doesn't love Jesus half-hearted, therefore He doesn't love you half-hearted either.
5. There is nothing God is holding back from you!
Romans 8:32 says "He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not also with Him, freely give us all things!"
6. YOU ARE NOT CONDEMNED!
Romans 8:1 says "There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus..." Condemnation is an expression of strong disapproval. God approves of you, because of your faith in Jesus, not because you have done everything right. God's love for you is non-negotiable. Deuteronomy 7:8 says He loves you with an everlasting love. It cannot be stopped, quenched or compromised.
THINK IT & SAY IT:
God is not mad at me, He is mad about me. He loves me as much as Jesus. He thinks precious thoughts about me all the time! I am His beloved, and He is mine!
There is nothing God is holding back from me. He didn.t hold back His best, therefore He won't hold back the rest!
I refuse to be condemned. I am forgiven. I reject the thought that He is mad at me or against me. God is for me, and not against me. His love toward me cannot be stopped.
30. God Is Judging Me
We're fasting today from the thought that says: "God is judging me." "Why is God doing this to me?" "Why is this happening to me?"
We all feel at times like when we don't measure up, that perhaps God is mad at us. And we replaced that wrong thinking with the thought that "God is not mad at me, He is mad about me."
We're fasting today from the thought that says: "God is judging me." "Why is God doing this to me?" "Why is this happening to me?"
When something goes wrong, it's easy to think, "maybe God is letting this happen because of what I did or what I didn't do."
This kind of thinking distorts the true view of our Heavenly Father. We need to stop seeing God as a vengeful and judgmental God. He is just. But His justice is satisfied, through the shed blood of Jesus. All that's left is His mercy and grace.
We're going to blast this "judgment mentality" out of our heads!
1. It is impossible for God to give anything that is not good.
Psalm 84:11 says "No good thing does He withhold from the righteous." (And don't forget: you are righteous through the blood of Jesus, not through you own works.)
2. God's judgment "passed over" the children of Israel through the blood of lambs.
In Exodus 12:12-13 God said, "On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn - both men and animals - and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the LORD. The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt."
Therefore, God's judgment passes over us more powerfully through the blood of Jesus.
3. Every good and perfect gift comes from above, from the Father of lights! James 1:17 - God doesn't change. He is GOOD, and the author of good. Never doubt that again.
4. EMBRACE HIS MERCY.
Lamentations 3:22 says His mercy is new EVERY MORNING. I love what Paul says in Hebrews 4:16, "So let's walk right up to Him and get what He is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help." HE IS NOT JUDGING YOU!
5. Meditate on what mercy is.
A woman approached Napoleon to ask for mercy for her son and let him go free. He was to be hanged for crimes against Napoleon and France. "Do you know what he has done, madam? He doesn't deserve mercy!" She responded: "If he deserved it, it wouldn't be mercy, sir." Napoleon released him.
The next time you think, "why is this happening to me," EXPECT GOD TO TURN IT INTO SOMETHING GOOD, rather than thinking God is judging you.
THINK IT & SAY IT:
God is NOT judging me. He is my Father, and He is madly in love with me. I deserve judgment, but He gives me mercy.
When things don't go right, I will not believe it's God's judgment. I will not believe that I have lost favor with Him. His favor SURROUNDS ME like a shield.
His judgment passed over the children of Israel, therefore His judgment passes over me. I expect GOOD to happen to me. EVERY DAY, something good is going to happen.
I embrace His mercy. It follows me all the days of my life. No matter what happens in my life, I expect God to turn into something good!

Glass Bottles and Bath Soaks
Glass Bottles and Bath Soaks
I confess! I am a glass bottle junkie.
I absolutely abhor plastic bottles and consider them to be a blight on humanity. I am equally not fond of drinking out of a plastic cup or bottle. In this day and age when it is becoming increasingly harder and harder to find anything packaged in actual glass I find myself actively seeking out glass bottles that are visually interesting and hoarding them like a squirrel preserving nuts for winter.
The problem then becomes what to do with all of those visually interesting glass containers that I just had to have.
Solution: Homemade Bath Soaks
I came by the idea when my daughter gave me a recipe for a Mimosa Cocktail- which turned out to be a beverage that I love! and have to have upon occasion {all things in moderation; as you know} for Sunday brunch. However; champagne doesn't have a very long shelf life once you've opened the bottle and really! who likes a flat cocktail?
The same holds true for Wine Spritzers. Unless you are drinking them on a daily basis then you end up with a collection of half full bottles of flat wine looking pretty sad sitting the the back of your refrigerator. Sure, sure. You say that you are saving them with the intention of adding them to some exotic recipe that you downloaded off of the Internet but really? If you are honest you'll admit that you are also saving your money for all of the exotic spices you have to have to go with the exotic recipe that you downloaded off of the Internet and in the meanwhile all of those half full bottles of wine are staring at you every time you open the refrigerator door.
So; here is what you are going to do. Scrap the exotic recipe that probably won't taste near as good as it looks and use the money you have been saving to buy more visually interesting glass bottles. To which you will add the following recipe.
Red Wine and Champagne Bath Soak
Simply add your red wine or your champagne or a combination of both to your glass bottle.
Pour a glass (or more) of red wine or champagne (or both) into your running bath. Soak for 20 minutes. Feel decadent.
Don't worry. Unless you filled the tub up with red wine it isn't going to stain your skin.
Info!
The polyphenols in red wine are incredible antioxidants and the tartaric acid in champagne lightens skin and helps reduce discoloration and fine lines. Both red wine and champagne are also great for cleansing pores and then reducing their appearance.
So never again will you have to throw out that flat champagne or wine that’s sat alone in the back of the fridge. Now, you can bathe in it. Genius!
Simple Mimosa (for those interested)
Ingredients
1/2 oz triple sec (or) grenadine
1 1/2 oz cold pineapple (or) orange juice
3 1/2 oz chilled Champagne
pineapple (or) orange slice for garnish
Preparation
1.Build the ingredients in the order given in a Champagne flute.
2.Garnish with the pineapple or orange slice.
3. Enjoy!
Beauty for Ashes
Isaiah 61:1-3 (NIV)
The Year of the Lord’s Favor
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,
2 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

Lemons and Life
Lovely, Lovely Lemons!
What a bright, fresh scent that just sings "wake up, feel refreshed!" This attribute must be why I often think of lemon's scent on hot sticky days. I expect it goes along with the appeal of a cold glass of lemonade. Besides adding lemons to drinks there are a number of ways to use lemons in the home.
Like vinegar, much of lemon's gift is that it is an acid. It smells much fresher than vinegar, which is fermented. As an acid, lemon juice provides the benefits of vinegar, such as being a very good antiseptic killer of mold, germs, and bacteria.
What better time to learn some of these household hints during the heat of the summer when you and your family can receive a bright aromatherapy boost from the scent? Here are tips for using lemons for hair spray, cleaning metal, freshening the air, cleansing your skin, lightening your hair, and more.
HOUSEHOLD USES
Lubricant
Lemon oil is renowned as being very lubricating, which is why it is so often used on furniture.
Aromatherapy
Known to calm fears and lift depression, adding a few drops of pure lemon oil to a diffuser is considered to be a good tip for when someone is experiencing these symptoms.
Antiseptic/Deodorizer
Lemon juice is a great choice for deodorizing counters, cutting boards, and more. The acid in lemon juice kills mold, bacteria, and germs. While not a 100 percent kill rate, you can't sterilize your house anyway, so if you look at lemon juice as a solidly good deodorizer you will turn to it when you aren't needing a hospital-level disinfectant job.
Using leftover lemon and lime rinds in the garbage disposal is a great way to deodorize this apparatus, which so often can give off an odor.
Glass and China Cleaner
The acid in lemon juice will break down the alkaline minerals found in hard water. It will also work on stains. Make a solution of ½ water and ½ lemon juice and place in the glass, letting the solution set there for a few hours before washing as usual.
Air Freshener
Simmer sliced lemons in water. I like to use 2-3 lemons to about 4 cups of water. Simmer for a few hours, replacing water as needed.
Microwave Cleaner
Just put a slice or two of lemon in a cup of water and put in the microwave for 30 seconds on high. Use a cloth to clean dry. You can substitute a tablespoon or so of lemon juice with water.
Metal Cleaner
An acid like lemon juice works wonders for cleaning metals such as chrome, copper, and brass. There are myriad ways to get the lemon juice onto the metal, from simply rubbing the metal with a cut lemon (use the majority of the juice for a salad dressing), to mixing lemon juice with salt for a bit of an abrasive.
Whitener
Lemon juice and the sun combined proves to whiten clothes, hair, and more. I like to soak grey clothes in some water and lemon juice (add ½ a cup of lemon juice to a small load of laundry and let it soak, agitating occasionally, before rinsing and hanging on the line on sunny days).
Soap Scum/Shower Stalls
Soap is very alkaline and when it combines with hard water minerals it tends to form soap scum that can then coat shower stalls, bathtubs, and sinks. Acids cut through this soap scum. I'd suggest using lemon juice straight on a sponge and wash it onto the soap scum, let set for a few hours, and then rinse.
Mineral Buildup/Scale
Minerals are very alkaline and the acid of lemon juice cuts through and dissolves the minerals. Known as scale, mineral buildup frequently gets hard and in particular resides around faucets. Pour straight lemon juice on a washcloth or clean cloth. Lay the cloth over the scale and let set for a few hours before rinsing and cleaning the area.
PERSONAL CARE
Alpha Hydroxy Acid
Freshly squeezed lemon juice on my face is one of the best facials I have ever given myself. Lemon is a natural alpha hydroxyl acid and works like a charm to remove dead skin cells. Add some carrot juice for some vitamin A and you have something as good as found in any spa!
Hairspray
The solvents in most commercial hairspray could light your hair on fire if you were ever near an open flame, so I recommend you make this lemon-based natural hair spray at home, instead!
Hair Lightener
How many Saturdays I spent on the front lawn in the summer, my hair rinsed full of lemon juice, lying in the sun for a few hours, hoping to lighten my brown tresses. Squeeze ½ cup of lemon juice into a container with a spout, pour on your hair, work it through, and set in the sun until it is fully dry and then wash as usual. Make sure not to get the lemon juice in your eyes!
Skin Lightener
Dab freshly squeezed, straight lemon juice on dark spots like "liver spots" that you want to remove. Let it fully dry and then rinse.

7 Steps to De-Stress
~ De-Stress To A Better You ~
1. LEARN ABOUT STRESS
Gain an understanding, and grasp the seriousness of the physiology of stress. This is important because most people do not "get" the stress/heart health connection. Bottom line: You CAN control how stress affects you.
2. EAT A REPLENISHING DIET
Eat fresh organic foods to help replenish and rebalance your body. Fresh foods contain life-giving enzymes which actually get depleted as we age. (Depleted enzymes are linked to digestive problems, obesity, and chronic illness!) Eat fresh fruits and veggies, and a fresh green salad every day. You'll notice a difference within a week in how you feel and look.
Tip: Instead of orange juice (which may be pasteurized thereby losing some nutrients and enzymes), squeeze fresh oranges for enzymes and nutrients, especially vitamin C, folic acid and potassium. Get a juicer and sip on fresh fruit and vegetable juices.
Eat mineral-rich foods like seaweeds, leafy greens, beans, nuts and seeds to help replenish depleted minerals like magnesium.
Drink plenty of pure water. Stress causes dehydration and dehydration can promote stress—an endless cycle. Staying hydrated is important for healthy brain function.
Sip green tea and peppermint tea throughout the day to ward off stress. To relax and encourage sleep, drink a cup of chamomile tea in the evening.
Healthy snacks only—fresh fruits and veggies, nuts, and whole grain crackers.
Tip: Start your day with a nibble of fresh parsley and boost serotonin—a "feel good" hormone.
Create a pleasant relaxing atmosphere for meals. Try to eat outside at work. Use mealtime for pleasant conversation and socialize with friends and family. Socialization works wonders for stress, especially for women.
3. MANAGE AND CONTROL YOUR STRESS
Incorporate proven stress-reducing meditative therapies. Note: You don't have to wait until you think you are having a stress event. These techniques not only help repair damage done over the years, they also help set you up so you are better able to handle stress.
Practice meditation: Recent studies confirm the fact that Prayer and Meditation not only relieves stress, it also promotes a healthy heart and cardiovascular system, and reduces high blood pressure. Just 20 minutes a day can change your life, for the better.
Practice deep breathing exercises: Deep breathing reduces stress, relaxes and even helps you sleep better at night. Bonus: Healthier lungs.
4. EXERCISE EVERY DAY
Walk briskly for a half-hour outside every day.
Start your day with a quick stretch and warm-up. A 10-20 minute rejuvenation routine wakes up your lungs, glands, brain and heart, plus boosts the hormone production of serotonin (feel good) and dopamine (focus).
Tip: Be sure to stretch in the morning. Stretch your toes, which helps break up and release toxins as well as boost circulation.
Go outside during short breaks. Raining? Wear your raincoat and take an umbrella. Cold or snowing? Bundle up and get invigorated. Hot? Stay in the shade.
Dance. Put on your favorite music and go for it. Ten minutes will get you to a higher state!
Tip: Take some time off and get yourself into natural surroundings—into the woods, by the water, fields, mountains, etc., for the benefit of fresh air and sunshine! Even just an afternoon can refresh you for days.
5. GET BETTER QUALITY SLEEP
Go to bed earlier and wake up earlier. It is believed that the sleep you get before midnight is better quality, so get to bed by 9 or 10.
Drink a cup of chamomile tea with dinner.
Create a peaceful sleep space that is completely dark. This induces the production of the lovely sleep hormone, melatonin.
Listen to relaxing music before bed.
Take a calming bath. Turn on relaxing music. Light candles. Drop in 5 drops of organic lavender essential oil.
6. USE AROMATHERAPY
One of the fastest ways to affect mood is through the sense of smell. Organic essential oils are potent therapies for reducing stress, encouraging focus, lessening depression, and building energy.
Relaxation: Lavender, chamomile, rosewood and clary sage.
Focus and concentration: Rosemary, thyme, peppermint and sage.
Alertness: Peppermint, juniper, and bergamot.
Creativity: Frankincense, rose germanium, rosemary and sandalwood.
Note: Pregnant women or those with health concerns should discuss using essential oils with a doctor before using. Do not use essential oils directly on your skin without diluting in a carrier oil such as olive or almond, and only use a few drops.
7. ACCENTUATE THE POSITIVE
Did you know that what we focus on expands? What do you want to expand in your life? Try to look at obstacles as only bumps in the road. Focus on the positive aspects of your life. Stay away from people or situations that bring you down. Make conscious choices to put yourself in environments that are stimulating and nurturing. Make the best of situations. For example: Stuck in traffic? Look at it as a gift of free time. Listen to music you've been missing, or learn from books or courses on tape.
Tip: Sing often!

The Beauty of Esther
~ The History of Esther ~
478 B.C. - Esther, born Hadassah, was the wife of Xerxes the Great and the Shahbanu of the Persian Empire. She was Persia's first Jewish queen and heroine of the Biblical Book of Esther which is named after her. As a result of Esther's intervention and influence, Jews lived in the Persian Empire for 2400 years thereafter.
Esther's husband Xerxes (Ahasuerus) followed in the footsteps of Cyrus the Great, in showing mercy to the Jews of Persia. According to the Biblical Book of Esther King Xerxes of Persia held a one hundred and eighty-day feast in Susa to display the vast wealth of his kingdom and the splendor and glory of his majesty.
The King ordered his queen Vashti to appear before him and his guests wearing her crown, to show off her beauty. But when the attendants delivered the king's command, Queen Vashti refused to come. Furious at her refusal to obey, the King asked his wise men and the seven princes of Persia for advice, according to the law; they advised the King to search for a new queen.
The King followed this advice, then began searching for a new queen by means of a beauty contest. Beautiful young women were gathered to the palace from every province. Esther was advanced for this role by Mordecai, her cousin and guardian.
For 12 months each woman underwent beauty treatments in the harem, after which she would go to the King. She was given anything she wanted to take with her from the harem to the King's palace. King Xerxes chose Esther to be his wife and queen.
The name “Esther” comes from the Persian word: "star".

~ Necessities ~Find time for yourself
Schedule time away from your job, your partner and your children. Use this opportunity to tune in to what you want and need. Don't feel that you're being selfish; you have a responsibility to yourself to take care of your needs.
Buy time
The next time you're asked to do something, don't answer right away. Say, "Let me think about it" or "I have to take care of something right now. I'll call you back and let you know." This will give you time to evaluate the situation and decide if it's something you truly want to do.
Practice saying "No."
For many women, saying "No" doesn't come naturally. But practice makes perfect, so start now! You can try it in the mirror, or even walk around the house saying it. Get used to hearing yourself say the word, and then you'll be ready to use it with other people!
Finding yourself is not about what you add to your life, it's about what you take away. Once you have created your "Absolute Yes List," the top priorities in your life, it becomes easier to identify those things that you'll need to let go. Although it may feel uncomfortable to think about saying no, it's important to remember that each time you say yes to someone or something else, you say no to you and your priorities. If saying no is difficult (especially to family members), then make sure you speak to your partner for support before and after you decline a request.
Your self-care is always a valid excuse to say no. Don't over-explain or defend your decision. Be graceful and honest. You might say something like: "I'm sorry, but it's just not possible for me to do that," or, "I'll have to decline but thank you anyway." As you practice saying no, it will get easier. Start now.
For one week, keep track of how many times you say yes to something that is not on your Absolute Yes List. At the end of the week, tally up the number…surprised? Awareness is the first step to realigning your decisions and priorities.
Make a list of five things you'd like to say no to. Start by thinking about these and then move into saying no.

There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Cinnamon
is the dried inner bark of an evergreen tree that is harvested during the rainy season when the bark is most flexible and easiest to work with.
A wild cinnamon tree can grow to 65 feet (20 meters) high, but trees used for harvesting are pruned down at about 2 years of age to produce an abundance of finer bark-yielding growth called, tillering. Once the tree reaches 3 years of age it's harvested twice yearly following each rainy season.
At harvest time the shoots are cut and the leaves and twigs are removed with the rough outer bark. The shoots are then beaten to soften the tissues of the inner bark and make it easier to peel away in a complete strip. Once peeled, the bark is placed in overlapping, extended layers then rolled to form long canes or quills that are sun-dried. As the quills dry, the bark curls and becomes paper-like.
Cinnamon was one of the principal ingredients used in the manufacture of the precious ointments of "holy oil" which Moses commnded to use in the Tabernacle for anointing the sacred vesels and the person of the officiating priests. (Exodus 30:23).
Cinnamon is a powerful antiseptic that kills many decay and disease-causing bacteria. It's leaf juice has strong activity against the germs that cause tuberculois.
Its flavour is due to an aromatic essential oil which makes up 0.5% to 1% of its composition. This oil is prepared by roughly pounding the bark, macerating it in seawater, and then quickly distilling the whole. It is of a golden yellow colour, with the characteristic odour of cinnamon and a very hot aromatic taste.

1 c. Kosher Salt
1 c. powdered milk
a few drops of blue food coloring

Wonderful Ways to Use Epsom Salts
SIMPLE SOLUTIONS:
I always knew that soaking in a tub full of hot water with a few cups of Epsom Salts was good for relaxing muscles and drawing toxins from the body, but I could never figure out why. And it wasn't until I spent some time at the Epsom Salt Industry Council web site that I learned that epsom salts— made of the mineral magnesium sulfate— are also a sedative for the nervous system.
When magnesium sulfate is absorbed through the skin, such as in a bath, it draws toxins from the body, sedates the nervous system, reduces swelling, relaxes muscles, is a natural emollient, exfoliator, and much more.
Relaxing and sedative bath:
Soak in warm water and 2 cups of epsom salt.
Face cleaner:
To clean your face at night, mix a half-teaspoon of epsom salt with your regular cleansing cream. Just massage into skin and rinse with cold water.
Homemade skin mask:
Apply the mask to damp skin. For normal to oily skin, mix 1 tablespoon of cognac, 1 egg, 1/4 cup of non-fat dry milk, the juice of 1 lemon, and a half-teaspoon of epsom salt. For normal to dry skin, mix 1/4 cup of grated carrot, 1 1/2 teaspoons of mayonnaise and a half-teaspoon of epsom salt.
Foot soak:
Soothe aches, remove odors and soften rough skin with a foot soak. Add 1/2 cup of epsom salt to a large pan of warm water. Soak feet for as long as it feels right. Rinse and dry.
Skin exfoliator:
Massage handfuls of epsom salt over your wet skin, starting with your feet and continuing up towards the face. Have a bath to rinse.
Remove excess oil from hair:
Epsom salt soaks up excess oil from hair. Add 9 tablespoons of epsom salt to 1/2 cup of oily hair shampoo. Apply one tablespoon of the liquid to your hair when it is dry; rinse with cold water. Pour lemon juice or organic apple cider vinegar through the hair, leave on for 5-10 minutes, and then rinse.
Remove hairspray buildup:
Combine 1 gallon of water, 1 cup of lemon juice, and 1 cup epsom salt. Combine, cover and let set for 24 hours. The next day, pour the mixture into your dry hair and let it sit for 20 minutes. Then shampoo as normal.
Hair volumizer:
Combine equal parts of deep conditioner and epsom salt. Warm in a pan. Work the warm mixture through your hair and leave on for 20 minutes. Rinse.
Soak sprains and bruises:
Epsom salt will reduce the swelling of sprains and bruises. Add 2 cups epsom salt to a warm bath, and soak.
Splinter remover:
Soak in epsom salt, it will draw out the splinter.
