Love You Frame

This frame features some of the Love Impressions Rub-Ons from the new Occasions Mini. I do not use rub-ons very often, but I really did love using them on this project!

I used a picture of my sister and her husband on their wedding day and added a few rub-ons and a fun multi-layered picture frame. It is hard to see the layers here, but you can see them in real life way better! (click on the picture to make it bigger.)

An Ant's Lunch- Jewelery Color Inspiration #40

This weeks Jewelery Color Inspiration (it's #40!) from Stacey is this Springtime Garden Bracelet. The colors are Garden Green, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White. I thought of watermelon when I saw these colors and remembered that I saw this tutorial from Alison and decided to go with it!

Here is what I made. The card started off not having an ant and not having the saying "let's do lunch!" but I saw the saying (a rub on) and then thought an ant would be cute, so I made an ant and added it to the card! *I know the inspiration piece didn't have black in it..so I am kind of cheating... sorry!* I made the seeds by taking the smallest heart from the SU Three Heart punch and cut it in half, I think it worked out well!

Here is a close up of the watermelon and the little ant. You can see he already tasted the lunch to make sure it was good enough for you to eat too!

Baja Fifth Flower+ Candy!

It's my 100th post and that means it is time for some blog candy!! But first my card...

Here is a card I made inspired by Angela R. over at Splitcoaststampes. Her card caught my eye when I saw it, so I decided to make one of my own, but change a few things.

The colors on my card are Baja Breeze, Basic Black and Whisper White. You may think you see gray, but it is not, it is Basic Black card stock with a layer of vellum over it.

The background of the card was made by stamping the big flower, from the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set, multiple times in Black Staz On onto the Baja Breeze card stock.

The main image was stamped with Black Staz On onto watercolor paper and then aqua painted with Baja Breeze and the then cut out using my craft and rubber scissors.

The ribbon is Black Organdy ribbon with white Rub-On dots rubbed on my me! I think it came out really well, and it was super easy to do! The sentiment is also a Rub-On. The bottom is finished off using the Eyelet Border punch.

Now some blog candy...

It is four sheets of Watercolor Paper and an Aqua Painter Pen from SU! I love using the Watercolor Paper and the Aqua Painter Pen to color images in with!

All you have to do to get a chance to win this is leave a comment about my card and your name will be entered into the random drawing. You have until Thursday May 7 at 9:00am (mountain time).

Good Luck and Thanks for Looking!

sweet sunday sketch challenge #4

This week Karen has this sketch on her blog, the sweetest thing, for her sweet Sunday sketch challenge.

This sketch reminded me of a picture frame that I made a few months ago, so I decided to go with that same idea.

Here is the card I made using her sketch. I really like the way it turned out! I used all kinds of different little embellishments on this card, and had fun putting it all together.

The colors in this card are Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red and Baja Breeze. The sentiment is a rub from SU that is now retired.

It may be hard to see in the picture, but the main card is Chocolate Chip textured card stock, and then I sewed on a piece of smooth Chocolate Chip card stock (4 1/4" X 4 1/4") to it. I then punched out 1 1/4" squares from more textured Chocolate Chip and then punched out 1 1/4" different colored circles, then glued them onto the squares and then added all the embellishments!

First $5 Firday Night Stamping!

I decided I needed to start another stamping night for people that are not in my club, and don't want to place an order every month or even come to the meeting every month, so I started $5 Friday Night Stamping! I am going to do this once a month and we are going to make 2 cards for $5. I recently had my first one and I think it went well. Here are the cards that we made.

The first one is a pretty simple birthday card. The stamp sets used was Fabulous Flower and Happy Everything. The color's used were Elegant Eggplant, Taken with Teal, Old Olive and Whisper White. I used the scallop edge punch to scallop the bottom the the Taken with Teal paper and the ribbon used was the 5/8" Old Olive Grosgrain.

The second card we made was a little Christmas card that had a Rub On on it. Through November 30, Stampin' Up! is offering 20% off all their Rub On's if you spend $20.

This card measures 4" X 4". The colors are Riding Hood Red and Whisper White. The Noel stamp used to make the back ground is from the Many Merry Messages stamp set. The flower image in the middle is from the Hidden Garden Run Ons. The Ribbon used is Riding Hood Red 5/8" Striped Grosgrain. For a little added bling there are some Dazzling Diamonds in the middle of the flower adhered with Crystal Effects.
