Yellow Floral Square

Hi there!
I've got a card today for the Freshly Made Sketches and Inkspirational challenges.  I thought immediately of the Pinkfresh Floral Squares when I saw the sketch and the bright yellow of the photo inspiration sent me straight to this Authentique paper which really allows the flower to pop.  I layered the die a few times for some depth and added a simple little sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Grey, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Essentials 6x6) Authentique
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Tiny Words) Simon Says Stamp
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Floral Squares) Pinkfresh

T-Wreck

I've got another caffeinated critter from The Rabbit Hole Designs to share today.  This grouchy T-Rex is for the Paper Players' CAS Men in Mind challenge.
This is Luis without his caffeine.  I swear his blood is 50% espresso.  He has at least two espressos before he leaves the house in the morning and then has regular coffee as soon as he arrives at work.  When he's home he has an espresso after lunch.  He also has an espresso after dinner and somehow can then fall straight asleep!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Kraft) Papertrey Ink, (Not Quite Navy) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Loyal 6x6) Authentique
Stamps:  (All from Caffeinated Dinosaur) The Rabbit Hole Designs

Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow

Reindeer & Bear

Hello hello!

I've got two cards to share today.  First up is for the Just Add "R" challenge at Just Add Ink.  I had fun arranging these Authentique papers and gave myself points for putting another (tiny) dent into the patterned paper stash.  The reindeer is from Essentials by Ellen and I thought he needed a little jingle bell for just a bit more holiday cheer.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Kraft) Papertrey Ink, (Chocolate Chip) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  Authentique
Stamps:  (Sentiment) Hero Arts
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukeniko

Twine:  Darice
Glitter:  (White Wink of Stella) ZigGems:  Recollections

Next up is a card for the Furry Friends challenge at the Simon Says Wednesday challenge.  The team highlighted Newton's Nook stamps this week so I made another Winston card and paired him with a Paper Smooches sentiment.  My background was inspired by Jeanne of A Kept Life who has made a bunch of brilliant cards with bright striped backgrounds that I LOVE like here, here and here.  Check out her blog if you never have - she has a fun, bright and cheery style.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Real Red, Cucumber Crush, Basic Black) Stampin' Up

Two Birds (But No Stone)

Hello hello!

I have two cards to share today.  First is for Keren's Lovely Layers Challenge for the Winnie & Walter WCMD celebrations using the sketch from Merry Monday.  Another adorable birdie in a Santa hat makes an appearance!  I used W&W dies for the scalloped layers and the birdie is popped up on foam tape.  I thought it was kind of fun to have a yellow card base - not your usual Christmas colour but it helps make the birdie pop a bit.  I also added Stickles and Wink of Stella to his hat for some festive sparkle.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (12x12 polka dots) Doodlebug
Stamps:  (Bird & ornaments from Happy Owlidays, Christmas from The Big, The Bold and The Merry) Winnie & Walter
Inks:  (Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukeniko, (Real Red) Stampin' Up
Die:  (Scalloped rectangle) Winnie & Walter
Markers:  (R17, R29, Y15, Y38) Copic
Glitter:  (Frosted Lace Stickles) Ranger, (Clear Wink of Stella) Zig

This next card is for the AAA Cards sketch challenge.  It had me stumped until I came across this Memory Box branch while I was flipping through dies.  It seemed perfect for the stripe on the sketch.  This little MB bird is an old favourite - one of those dies I've definitely gotten my money's worth from!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Marina Mist, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Essentials Collection 6x6) Authentique
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Calm & Gentle) CAS-ual Fridays
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukeniko
Die:  (Perched Reed Bird, Woodland Branch) Memory Box

You're The Man

I'm way behind in the Father's Day card department and am scrambling to get some made for a few people.  This one is super simple and graphic.  I used My Favourite Things triangle dies with Authentique paper and a dad die and sentiment from Reverse Confetti.  I'm going to enter it in the Simon Says Wednesday Make It Masculine challenge

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Early Espresso) Stampin' Up

Two Flowers

Hi there!  We finally got some much needed rain today which not only was reason to celebrate but also made for a perfect excuse to get in some crafty time.  I've got two cards for three challenges.  First up I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and took inspiration from Anita's card at Muse.  I love the drama Anita's black flowers against the red background pattern.  It's bold and fabulous!  I used some Authentique papers for the two panels on the sketch, heat embossed and fussy cut the Altenew flower and added some Nuvo dots around the Altenew sentiment.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Carefree Collection 6x6) Authentique
Stamps:  (Flower from Hennah Elements, Sentiment from Many Thanks) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukeniko
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Other:  (Nuvo White & Oyster Grey Crystal Drops) Tonic

This card uses the colours from CAS Colours & Sketches.  I happened to have the Soft Sky die cut square on my desk so decided to try and use it for the challenge.  I used a Calypso Coral marker to add some subtle detail to the Essentials by Ellen flower petals.  I also die cut some extra outlines to put behind the square for a bit of interest.  I'm pretty sure this idea was in my head because I've seen it on someone's blog recently but I cannot remember who's or when it was.  If anyone knows please let me know so I can link to them!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Calypso Coral, Soft Sky, Crumb Cake) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Bejeweled) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukeniko
Die:  (Flower from Wild Garden) Essentials by Ellen, (Wonky Stitched Square) My Favourite Things

I've got a couple more cards to share from my crafting session on Sunday.  This first one

Skipping Stones January Stamp & Share Challenge

Hello and welcome to the Skipping Stones January Stamp & Share Challenge!  We have an Anything Goes challenge this month so there's no reason not to join in - you can create anything at all and Skipping Stones Design stamps are not required to play along (but if you have some we'd love to see you use them).

For my card I used the Dogs Vol. 1 stamp set - definitely one of my favourites!  I covered my card base with paper from Authentique and die cut a rectangle from the same paper pad.  My hydrant and sentiment are stamped and embossed and I watercolored the hydrant.

I hope you'll find some time to play along with us especially as one lucky person will win a Skipping Stones Design stamp set of their choice!  Be sure to check out the rest of the gorgeous inspiration from the Design Team and then get crafting!

Pink Christmas

Hi there!  I'm popping in with a card for the current Time Out challenge - Christmas with the optional twist of using pink and/or purple.  I finally put my Reverse Confetti trees to use.  They were everywhere last year and I loved them so I finally got them for this year.  Better late than never right?  I used a combination of patterned papers from Authentique and Lawn Fawn for the trees and banners and added a few gems to finish it off.  Fun and funky!  Time to jet back off to work now.  I'll see you here tomorrow for CASology!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Soft Suede) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Dark pink from Classique: Pretty 6x6) Authentique, (Polka dots & stripes from Let's Polka, Mon Amie) Lawn Fawn

Quartet

Hi there!  Another weekend is drawing to a close and after some really good crafty time I have a few cards to share with you.  First up is a card for The Card Concept's colour challenge.  I think my card falls into the Clean and Graphic category.  There's no stamping on this one - just die cuts and gems - which made for a pretty simple card once I stopped rearranging those rounded diamonds (and that took way longer than I would like  to admit…).  I actually think I'm going to go back and make some more of these with different papers.  I think they'd make a nice set.
Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Handy Hippo), (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Essentials Collection 6x6) Authentique
Dies:  (Rounded Diamonds, Thank You) Avery Elle
Gems:  Recollections

Next up is a card for the Colour Me…Monochromatic challenge. These stamps are from the Taylored Expressions order I received last month.  How cute is that little race car?  There's a love sentiment in the set too but I need to build up my birthday card stash especially guy cards.  I thought it looked a little plain so I added a bunch of "Vrooms" in the background.  It kind of makes it feel like there's a whole bunch of cars revving their engines at the start of a race.
Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) PaperTrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (All from Vroom Vroom) Taylored Expressions
Inks:  (Smokey Slate) Stampin' Up, (Red Royal) Hero Arts
Gems:  Recollections

This card is for three different challenges.  I used the design from Freshly Made Sketches and the photo and sprinkles inspiration from Cupcake Inspirations.  I'm also going to enter it in the Simon Says Wednesday Dotty challenge.  I had fun using up some patterned paper all the way down to the paper pieced cupcake.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) PaperTrey Ink
Patterned Paper:  (Creative Agenda) 6x6) Echo Park
Stamps:  (Cupcake & Sentiment from Sugar Rush) Paper Smooches
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Twine:  (Lemondrop) The Twinery
Glitter:  (Star Dust Stickles) Ranger

Last but not least is a card for the current Colour Throwdown challenge.  It's been a long time since that Papertrey Mehndi Medallion saw the light of day which is funny when I think about how much I NEEDED it when it was released!  LOL!  And then something new was released and the Medallion got left in the dust.  So fickle…

That's it for me.  I'll be back with some more cards tomorrow. Have a wonderful week!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Pumpkin Pie, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Mega Mehndi Medallion) Papertrey Ink, (Sentiment from Happy Everything) Lawn Fawn
Inks:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Seafoam White) Ranger
Dies:  (Fern) Cas-ual Fridays, (Small butterfly) My Favourite Things, (Medium & large butterflies) Papertrey Ink
Gems:  Doodlebug

CASEd Baby

Popping in with some entries for the Addicted To CAS Baby Challenge.  I actually CASED an old thank you card of mine for these two cards.  I used the same layout and even some of the same papers and just changed the image and sentiment.  It's a good trick to use when you're really stuck for ideas or time!  The stamps are from Nursery Deco by Mama Elephant and the papers are Authentique.

Atti and I are headed off for a walk to the beach. It's sunny and gorgeous today!  Sending warm vibes out to you all!

Fusion Blooms

How pretty is this week's Fusion picture?  I love the yellow and grey against that light woodgrain and took that as my main inspiration (I wasn't really feeling the sketch this week).  I've been looking for a reason to use my new Sweet Stamp Shop Elegant Bloom flowers and this was the perfect opportunity! I love that Papertrey Ink tag and don't use it enough so I broke it out and gave it some love.  I know there's no turquoise in the picture but I'm going a little rogue - that paper just called out to me as I flipped through the pad.  Can't wait to go and see the rest of the entries - it's always a gorgeous gallery!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill
Patterned Paper:  (Yellow from Essentials 6x6) Authentique, (Herringbone, woodgrain & turquoise from Dolled Up 6x6, Grey from Indie Chic Saffron 6x6) My Mind's Eye
Stamps:  (Flowers from Elegant Blooms) Sweet Stamp Shop, (Sentiment from Sentiment Sampler) Market Street Stamps
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Seafoam White) Ranger
Dies:  (Tag Sale #3) Papertrey Ink, (Tilted Banners) Simon Says Stamp
