DIY

365 Cards Day 207 - DIY: Patterned Paper.
To make your own background paper in any way you wish.
Over the last few weeks I have been following lovely Dawn McVey on her blog 'My Favorite Things' and she has been making the most wonderful backing papers using small patterned stamps and multi stamping them, so thought I would have a go. I just wish I had chosen a larger stamp. This tine one is by Clarity Stamps which I inked up in Versamark and stamped repeatedly turning the stamp each time until I got fed up :D..I then heat embossed with clear emb. powder.
I stamped a plain piece of white card with a Hero Arts dotty background stamp in dark pink and smudged it over with pink chalk then cut it with my Fiskars Border Punch. Over that I placed a piece of red card.
Embellished with a tag by Kelly Panacci, flat backed pearl by Papermania and piece of dotty organza ribbon from my stash.
All card is DCWV.
I didn't like the blank red to the left so stamped again in versamark twice, the other way up, you can now judge the size of the stamp, embossed with white emb. powder and surrounded it with a throwaway piece of pink card left after cutting out with my Nesties.
This is not very neat, there are a couple of bodged jobs, but the challenge is met.

One for the Teenager

Great sketch at Card Patterns 32 and a great theme at Secret Crafter 49
put the two together and I came up with this card.
I didn't have a teenage boy stamp so had to Google an image.
This was coloured with a mix of PM's and Copics.
The papers are Papermania 'For Him' and the arrows are cut from a piece too.
The rub on is by Paper Studio...et voila!!!

Hexagon

365 Cards Day 199 - Shape Up - Hexagon
Hands up who has forgotten how to draw a hexagon!!!!!...ah! good, glad to see I'm not on my own then.
After lots of measuring, calculating, times tables, rulers, erasers and pencils I gave up and found a piece of paper with a resemblance of a hexagon in the pattern so I could cut around it, another cheat I suppose..lol!!
The papers are from a 6 x 6 pad by Papermania 'For Him'
The great image was a free download by Dustin Pike called 'April Showers' such a cute bee.
I coloured him with PM's, and placed him on the hexagonal piece of paper, matted and layered with co-ordinating cardstock.
The sentiment sticker is out of my stash.
I also sparkled up his wings, the puddle and drops of rain with a clear sparkly Sakura Gel Pen

Imagine This...........

I enjoyed the challenge at 365 Cards today which was Day 194 - Imagine This: Technology
So a card had to be made with my own idea of technology and how it inspires me!!....or maybe my furry companions

I had the perfect stamp which I got off eBay years ago, and it is sooooo true - just look at the proof in my pics. Those moggies sure get it. This is Murphy who loves playing word games with me and watching the doggy licking the screen clean - that was fun. Scroll down on the right and you will see another one of Dexter learning to type :D
I paper pieced the screen , pussy cat and mouse, which was fun to do.
The papers are Papermania 'For Him', the chipboard die cut from Bumble Bee Crafts and the sentiment stamp is by We R Memory Keepers.

This card will be great for ABC Challenge this week which is D for Die Cuts and I used the sketch from Spoonful of Sugar #68

365 Cards - Day 141

Super Sketchy Sunday today and here is the sketch.
This was lovely and painless.
Feeling below par atm, like the golf I'm watching. lol!!

But as I type this the sun is starting to shine which makes a blessed relief from the amount of rain we have had lately, so much for our summer!!!
Anyway, I digress....the starting point for this card was the Nestie die cut scalloped oval in two sizes....the only two left in my box of spares. So that shade of pink dictated the rest of the card.
The Card stock is Bazzill Basics, not sure of the shade. The pp's are HOTP, years old, but I throw nothing away, so sometimes you may think my cards look a little dated, lol!! , but I care not a jot. :)
I trimmed the top piece of paper with my Fiskars scalloped border punch 'Threading Water' and forgot to do the bottom piece...doh!!
All pieces had their corners rounded with a corner rounder punch, no less. I added the sentiment by Clarity Stamps inking with Adirondack 'Cranberry'. 2 little flat backed jewels by Papermania were added to the dots on the 'i's'..ribbon from my stash and to finish it off I added two little mulberry flowers, pulling the stems through the knot of the ribbon.
The start of another great week at 365 Cards.

Super Sketchy Sunday - Day 106

Well the start of another week over on 365 Cards, I wonder how many I'll get done this week.
And while doing it I remembered how much I dislike heat embossing white pwder on dark card :-( No matter how hard I tried with my tiny paintbrush I couldn't get rid of all the stray powder, especially hard with a sentiment.
I came up with the colour scheme after finding the only large oval I had cut was in red, but there always has to be a starting place.
The paper is a scrap piece.
The sentiment is by Clarity Stamps
The flat backed pearls by Papermania.
Everything else from my stash

Sunday Combi.

Getting snowed under with challenges I want to do so have combined 2 this weekend -the theme from Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #23 which is 'Have Your Cake And Eat It' - and - the sketch from Sketch Saturday #42 sponsored by The Cutting Cafe.
The sketch was great and cake being the theme....need I say more. The Penny Black image was coloured using PM's. All papers used were from Kay & Co. Tim Coffey Tulip and Papermania Olivine Essence. The piece of cream card was cut using Fiskars Wide Scallop scissors and overstamped with 2 flower stamps by Hero Arts using Colorbox 'Wisteria' Chalk Ink pad. Prima flowers and Hero Arts buttons used to finish. All other items misc. from my stash.

Ready, Steady, Cook.........

This was the theme at Daring Cardmakers Friday Challenge, so for the recipe the ingredients were:- 3 different papers, at least 1 pce of chipboard, at least 1 button, at least 1 ribbon with an optional extra being an item of your choice.
I enjoyed this as there is nothing to follow only your own imagination. Sometimes not good.
The 3 papers were 2 by CMYK Scrapbook Printdirect in natural + 1 piece of misc. leftover from a 12 x 12 sheet. 2 chipboard brackets by Papermania, 2 buttons from my mum's button tin, and a piece of misc. ribbon threaded through both the buttons. My choice of extra item was a stamped greeting from a stamp by Docrafts in Adirondack Cranberry. Not that happy with it as I want more on it somewhere. :-D

Orange, Yellow & Green....

This was the theme for this week's challenge over at Colour Createwhere a crafting buddy Amanda is guest designer, well done hun xx...I combined it with Card Sketch A Day #190
Although the sketch looked pretty straightforward trying to use the colours given in a set sketch had me ripping most things off once.
Eventually I came up with something. Orange card, ribbons, domed embellies from my stash. The stamped image which I coloured using Sakura Gelly Roll Gloss pens was from a swap. I edged the orange scalloped circle with green glue pen and cut out the sentiment from a sheet of paper. The ribbon is actually 2, one stuck on top of the other with the left over piece tied around the chipboard shape which is by Papermania. The papers are from a 6 x 6 pad by K & Co 'Kim Hodges Patchwork'. Thanks for looking.

Food & Drink

Another great challenge at Cute Card Thursday and #50 was 'Food & Drink'/'Wine & Dine' and sponsored by Poppicrafts.
I used Papermania Collosal 'For Him' paper to cover blue card and positioned a scalloped piece of Bazzill in coffee creme onto the bottom half. A piece of navy blue Grosgrain ribbon was placed across the centre to cover the edge. A Penny Black image was coloured with Marvy Le Plume pens and cut out and embossed using Nestabilities Labels 1 and a blue piece of card cut using the largest Nestie. The rub-on sentiment was by Letraset. 2 round gems were added to each end of the ribbon and a heart shaped gem placed upside down on the flame of the candle.

Card Sketch A Day #170

Saw this sketch and new I just had to do it so I could use my new Nestabilities Labels 1 which I adore.
The papers are Basic Grey and Papermania, and the sentiment stamp, which I love, is Clarity/Imagina which was stamped using Adirondack Lettuce ink pad.
The white scalloped edges are Bazzill, jewels and ribbon from stash. Quite pleased as I do seem to prefer the monochrome look, which seems more restful. Although when I see others using such gorgeous arrays of coloured lusciousness I admire their ability to diversify.
