Just a little Flourish

Good Morning

My Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors, I trust I fine you all well?.

Well Friday has arrived and the end of another week and
here comes the weekend yippee.
A warm welcome goes to Wendy my new follower, thank you so much
for you support everyone. You are all stars and I really do value you all.

Off to mums today, domestic chores calling, then home after lunch and
hopefully in my craft room, playing Whoops I mean creating .

Today's card has been make using one of the new Crafters Companion
embossing folder Yes I know I should  not have done it but
what does a girl do when your heart say Go On stop listening
to your head - Well you stop listening that's what and hey ho
the full set landed on my doorstep hey presto.

DETAILS

1. Firstly I took a piece of craft card and used Gesso all over
the front. Once dry I then inked part with Tim Holts Shabby
Shutters before running through the embossing folder.
To be honest I did use the stamps but because the card was
to large I had to cut it down and Yes daft me cut the
stamping off.

2. Onto an 8 x8  card I mounted Jade coloured  satin card
then onto that added my embossed card.

3. Using two of the large Tonic dies I cut the flourishes
and placed them down the side of the card, added
purple flowers from my stash.

4. Using the Tattered Lace sentiment  die ( I love this)
the sentiment was cut  out of white card and then
inked using the same colour as on the card.

In case you cannot read the sentiment it reads
(There is nothing special about this card
except the person holding it)

Oh it that not the sweetest sentiment , makes you feel
all warm inside.

Well there you have it, hope you enjoyed your visit
and will return again very soon.
Until Next Time

Poppy delight

Good Morning
My Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Thursday already, my how the days are flying by.

On Tuesday afternoon I went to my friend Linda as she was going to
give me some tuition  in creating a canvas.  This is something I
seen many times in blog land  have always admired these
outstanding creations and wanted to learn how to start.

Well on with the aprons, and away we went and boy did I have some
fun once Linda directed me as to the techniques and what I  needed
to use.
So to Linda I say a big thank you and you do know that now I will
be spending more money !!! Oh NO!!!!!!!!

Anyway I did it and here is my first canvas masterpiece and yes
its already hanging on the wall.

DETAILS

Picture has been generated by my computer and I
set it print out opaque as I did not want  to bright
a picture. Lace was then added to the top and
down one side.

I then used a stencil to created the flourishes at
the  corners. On the opposite corners I stuck
metal corners then arranged metal flowers
around. Before adhering the flowers I used
silk flowers in the centre just to soften them.
Metal leaves helped to finish off the design.

The final touch was to add the metal butterfly
and there you have it MY MASTERPIECE.

I know its not really a masterpiece compared to
some of the amazing work out there but it's
all mine and I hope with practice to get
better and learn some new technique and create
even more little gems.

Well that's all from me today, I do hope you
have enjoyed your visit and that you will
join me again tomorrow.

Until Next Time

Deacon

Good Morning
My Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Hope you are all well and yes it's half way through the week already.

As it's Wednesday, its time for another challenge today over at
Penny's Paper Crafty and the theme this week is:-

USE YOUR FAVOURITE CARD FOLD

Our wonderful sponsors this week are

Bugaboo - their prise is 7 Digi's of winners choice
and
Crafty Sentiments Design  - Their prise is a £10 Gift Voucher

Please Note that due to the new EU tax regulations, Crafty
sentiments digital images are not available at present but
they are trying to find a way to still to be able to sell.

So with our further ado. please pop over to the challenge blog
and join in, if you need any further inspiration our design team
ladies have created some stunning cards.  Here is  my DT make
using a Bugaboo image.

DETAILS
1. Started with an 8 x8  card and folded to create an
easel card (one of my favourite folds as its so easy
but very effective once done)
2. I then took a piece of grey wood effect paper and
used it as the backdrop, then over the top I added
the bug paper (sorry I cannot remember who's it is)

3. The image as I have said if from Bugaboo and is
called Deacon Bugs and can be found HERE i
coloured him using my pro markers and then using
a SB die I cut him out. Using a larger SB die
I created the blue frame that the image is  mounted
on and then adhered both to the card at an angle.

4. From the internet I found all the bugs, took them
into a graphic programme and reduced to the
size I wanted. They were then fuzzy cut and
attached to the card . I must say I am very
pleased with the bugs as they do not look
as though they have been created with paper.

To complete I added the sentiment Birthday Boy and added
Shimmer Dome Stickers to each corner.

Well folks that is all I have to offer for today
Hope you will come and join in the fun and
we are looking forward to seeing your creations.

Until Next Time

and should you need any inspiration, please pop over to the challenge blog and

DETAILS

1. Card size 8 x 8 and I have embossed a piece of white
card  using one of the  new Crafters Companion
 Embossalicious folder called Floral Tressis.

2. Before adhering to the card I wrapped a piece of pink ribbon
across ( I know it does not show but the writing on the  ribbon
reads It's a Girl).

3. Using the new Cd Sentimentally Your from Ruby Red
available HERE I printed off the image and using
foam pads to give more height adhered it to the card.

4. The cot has been die cut with a Tattered Lace die
and glittered before attaching to the card. The ribbon
across the top, I have had for many years and I think
it's so cute.

5. To create the decorative frame I took patterned  vellum
and using a Momento  Collection  Ornamental Lace die
created the frame and adhered it the embossed card
before attaching to the card base.

To complete I added flowers from my stash and using  Cosmic Shimmer
Vintage Pink Pearlescent PVA created the little pearls in the centre
of each flower on the embossing.

So there we are - I do hope you join in the challenge, looking
forward to seeing all you wonderful creations.
