"Sunday Night Dessert"

A little tradition in our home. (and one of my very favorites!)
All week I we look forward to a special homemade dessert following our Sunday dinner.

Often it will be the topic of weekly discussions...
occasionally a vote will even be held...

A delightful (and delicious!) way to start the week...

"Sunday Night Dessert"!

last night's chosen winner:  is our new favorite!! YUM!

Chocolate Chip Pie

1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
2 large eggs
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter (1.5 sticks) softened
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 325.
Beat eggs in large mixing bowl on high speed until foamy.
Beat in flour and sugars. Beat in butter.
Stir in chocolate chips. Spoon into pie shell. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes.
Serve warm.
Enjoy!

Happy Monday!

'cause that's what Moms do...

we fix things...
patch things ...
make things all-better-now...

whether it be a hole in
"my-very-most-favorite-dress-in-the-whole-wide-world-EVER"
or a broken hearted little spirit...

we take those holes and patch them ...
carefully,
gently,
lovingly...

with great attention to detail...

we help make things become all-better-now-
'cause that's what moms do!

Have a happy day!
Many Blessings!

BE the cherry on top!

be the little extra something special ...

someone filled with a sweet spirit and kind words...

one who finds great joy in encouraging others...

a bright and happy inspiration...

someone who is simply ...
"the cherry on top!"

I created the little stitched piece above as a reminder for myself...
sweet Laura from "along for the ride" invited me to join her
on a wonderful project!
"90 days of kindness challenge"
you can read more about it here, and join us if you'd like!
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all joined in? now that really would "be the cherry on top"!

Have a happy Day!
Many Blessings!

{family} bracelets...

similar to a friendship bracelet...
a family bracelet
because,
"families are forever!" (and extra special too!)

to create ours,
we each chose three different fabrics,
then simply tore them into strips and braided them...

for the ends we knotted and shredded them a bit to form
a messy pom-pom...

I like to wear mine with other bracelets too...
a sweet *fun* reminder of my precious family!

"A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
Ecclesiastes 4:12

Hope ya'll have a wonderful holiday weekend!
We're off to celebrate with our family! "See" you Tuesday!
Many Blessings!

My new car!

just dreaming...
*sigh*
but, I am SO in love with this car!
Oh! the joy of the "mom's taxi" being this "happy scrappy" dream car!

I think I may just have to try and re-create one!
What a happy dream!

Happy Monday!
Many Blessings!

Sweet dreams...

When I visited one of my favorite blogs- Home & Harmony- recently
and saw the beautiful hand embroidered pillowcases
Rie had shared that she created for her daughters,
I knew instantly I wanted to create some for our girls too...
I had never embroidered before-
(yet, now I am completely smitten!)- but decided to give it a try!
for Princess #2 I simply chose her initials with two little kitties-
because she LOVES kitties!

and tonight she will find her new pillowcase with a small
piece of chocolate wrapped with a note from me...
I'm so excited just thinking of her sweet little head lying on her
pillowcase created especially for her with lots and lots of love!

and for Princess #1 I also simply chose her initials but with two little
birds in her favorite colors...

she too will find a wrapped piece of chocolate with a note from me...
and I'm anxious to hear in the morning if indeed both their dreams
were just a bit sweeter sleeping on their new pillowcases!

Thank you Rie for the wonderful inspiration!- now I may need to
attempt a tablecloth too! and napkins, and tote bags, and
clothes, and...told ya'll- I'm smitten!

Oh! and I almost forgot!

Happy Tails!...a tutorial

How about a simple little "happy" you can create in just a few minutes?

guaranteed to make one happy ponytail!

or a happy wrist- since that's wear Princess #1 seems
to always wear her ponytail holders!

you begin by cutting fabric a bit larger
than a covered button form-I chose the 2 inch size for
a larger surface to embellish...

following the directions that come with your covered buttons...
layer fabric, metal dome part of the button, wrap edges,
top with button back and crimp to seal...

pop your finished button out...
now the fun begins!
cut various shapes or designs from other fabrics to create
your desired button top...

adhere designs to the button top using Mod Podge...
once dry- apply a top coat to the entire button surface-
this protects the fabrics from dirt and stains...

and also provides a nice finish!

turn button over-
loop a thin ponytail through the button hole-

and pull through the loop to secure-

I like to make a little card to attach them for gift-giving...

I have given these SO many times!
and they always seem to be a big hit- with little girls AND big girls-
even mommies too!

I just package them in a little cello-bag tied with a ribbon
and some tulle...

and try to always keep some extra ones on hand!
they make great party favors, little happies-just because,
and birthday gifts!
(when I give them as a birthday gift, I make a whole little collection of them)

"Happy 'tails' to you! until we meet again..."

Have a wonderful weekend!
Many Blessings!
