And Elena makes 4!!

Well since my last post was almost 2 years ago I guess its time for an update!! Since our last post we have moved twice and lived in 3 different states. We now live in Lubbock, TX and we really like it aside from the dust storms, lack of trees and rain. We have added a new member of our family. Elena Sofia was born on August 27, 2013. It was such a happy day. She has brought us so much joy. I was so worried that since we loved Bel so much that there would not be enough love for another, but I was so wrong. She has the sweetest personality and smile. She is smart and learning everything very quickly maybe a little too quickly.

My sweet baby girl is now 7 and a half months old! 

Sadly my sweet father passed away 6 days after Elena was born. I know that he waited for her to come into this world so that I was able to enjoy her birth. He was such a wonderful man and a day doesn't go by where I don't feel him missing in my life. Sometimes I find myself thinking I should call my dad and tell him about something it hurts a little less now. I know that I will see him again one day! Our Heavenly Father has made it possible that I will see him again. I am so grateful for that knowledge. Elena looks a lot like my father and its sad that she will not get to meet him in this life, but we will have to tell her all about him. Belen understands now that grandpa went to heaven. It was hard since we weren't able to go to the funeral that it didn't feel real. My mother came for Thanksgiving and she definitely helped me grieve. 

My dad had been sick for a long time. It amazed me how Belen understood that she needed to be gentle. She and my dad had a special relationship. She would go into his room while he was doing a breathing treatment and try to catch the steam. He would check is O2 levels and then Belen's. He would also check his temp and hers as well. She would sit on his lap patiently waiting for her turn. 

These were our first family of 4 shots. Elena was only 6 weeks old. 

Belen is 5 years old now. She talks a lot. I don't think that even does it justice. Its pretty much non stop.  She will be starting kindergarten in the fall. She is definitely ready and she really wants to ride the bus but that is not really an option for us here. She is very smart and funny and beautiful. She is full of energy. Her language development really surprises me. She uses big words most of the time correctly. She keeps us on our toes. She is a very good girl. We love our girls so much and time is going by too quickly!!!  Until next time.
