Missing You

Hi everyone, today for my DT card at Cheery Lynn Designs I am sharing with you a few tips on how to get dimension into your Dies cuts.

My card today uses Maja Design papers,  I started by cutting out my Stacker layers and tattering at the edges with my scissors and tearing out small sections of the paper and inserted my lace style die cut for detail.

My butterflies were all cut out twice and I moulded the wings to give shape with my fingers. I pressed them into my Versamark Ink pad and heat embossed with a Pearl Embossing powder. Whilst still warm I held my wings so they stayed curled as they cooled and would then constantly remain in this shape. This is a great way so your wings don't flatten especially if posting a card.

My flowers I sprayed my die cuts with a little water and moulded each petal in a concertina effect. I next dried with my heat gun and then teased my petals back out to show the crinkles and shaped the layers on my Embossing mat then added a Pearl and Stamens into their centres.

I accented my Doily top and bottom of my card adding half a flower onto them and used the matching mini Doily behind my centre butterfly.

Cheery Lynn Designs Blog Hop Sept 2016 - Gift Envelopes

Hi Everyone, we are all so excited at Cheery Lynn Designs today to be launching the cutest dies called Gift Envelopes in our current Blog Hop.

These small cards and gift envelopes have a super range of miniature dies to decorate your cards and envelopes.

I decided these cards and envelopes would look great as a gift for someone that appreciates handcrafted cards. So I decided to make a small box to give them in, using my Scorpal Board. You will see a tutorial on their blog should you be unsure of how to work out your measurements.

As you can see on my box I have added the ever so cute little birds with a spot of Black Liquid Pearls.

I added my flower into the centre of my bow and attached my tag with the word wish, which had been cut down from a Gift Envelope sentiment Wishes.

The following photos show my cards.

Our Tiny Doilies fit perfectly onto these cards.

I also made some extra envelopes, stamping a design onto the opening to customise them.

Aren't these dies amazing. Please carry on the hop where you will see my Teamies showcasing several other dies in this new range.

Love for you to leave a comment to let me know you have stopped by and carrying on with the hop until you get back to Cheery Lynn Designs for a chance to win a $20 shopping spree.

Your next stop on our blog hop is LISA.

Vintage Sewing

Hi Everyone, thanks for stopping by to see my Sewing Theme inspired card for my DT post at Cheery Lynn Designs, I hope it gives you some inspiration with your dies, so let me take you through the techniques on my card.
I started my cutting my 2 base stacker layers and highlighted the faux stitching with a black pen, layering on my doilies.

My sewing machine - I coloured the handle and base with a Gold pen, highlighting the die detail with a fineliner pen and rubbing a little Black Archival ink around the edges to add age. The centre body of the machine I used  Stampendous Aged Black embossing powder, adding a little thread onto the bobbin and machine, gluing in place. This now reminds me of my Grandmother's sewing machine.

My Tailors Dummy - I placed a little masking tape behind a piece of white cardstock to cut my mannequin out, this helped hold all the negative pieces in place. I then heat embossed with a Platinum shade. I die cut a layer in patterned paper, layering on the bodice section only, which then gives highlight to my Platinum shade underneath. Finishing off with a little net and a ribbon I gathered with a few hand sewn stitches.

My images were tattered at the edges, then added some more Platinum embossing powder to help frame them and layering onto some Cheesecloth. My die cut scissors I coloured with a Grey Copic Pen, heat setting some Clear embossing powder and adding a touch of bling. My Tea Rose was shaped on my embossing mat and I added a little snap fastener to the centre.

I finished off my card with various sewing themed embellishments in my stash.

Would love to see you joining in the current challenge - Add a Flourish, where you can win a $20 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs.

Happy Crafting,

Be Mine

Hi Everyone, today for my DT post at Cheery Lynn Designs I am sharing some inspiration for Valentines Day using a couple of the new dies from their latest release.

I started off by matting and layering my stacker layers onto my card  and then I added my border to the top and bottom of my card.  I paper pieced my flourish into place to make it larger for this design, hiding the join with a flower. My flowers were cut out of patterned cardstock and some Flowersoft added to the centres.

I just adore this new Film Set, you get 2 different sizes in the pack. I cut mine out in Black cardstock and then positioned the same die over my image, this way it would nest perfectly into my Photo Frame.

My Teddy was cut out in White cardstock, shading with Distress ink. I layered patterned and black cardstock behind the accents. My heart and his arms were layered on twice for extra dimension. I also placed a little bend into the cardstock at his ears and feet. Finishing off with a little bling.

Thanks for stopping by today and I do hope to see you joining in Cheery Lynn's latest Bi-Weekly challenge which currently is Tickled Pink.

With Love From Cupid

Hi Everyone, today for my DT card at Cheery Lynn Designs I'm sharing some inspiration using the adorable newly released Cupid die.

I started by die cutting out my layers from patterned cardstock, tattering at the edges and adding a little Distress Ink. My frame I cut out an aperture using my square stackers to create a window effect, I then glued on my Scandinavian Heart frame. I placed lace around the centre of my frame and added lots of pearls, mounting onto my card.

My Love You was also shaded with Distress and mounted onto my tattered square frame adding a touch of cheesecloth and finishing with a few more pearls.

My Cupid was shaded with Distress Inks....isn't he so cute !

I mounted my Tea Rose onto my Heart as an extra finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by today and to let you know, the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge has changed to fortnightly, so why not click HERE for details to join in the fun of Tickled Pink.

Just Married

Hi Everyone, firstly I would like to thank you all for your lovely visits and comments on my blog during the Cheery Lynn blog hop last week, you really made my day. Today for my DT card at Cheery Lynn Designs I am sharing a Wedding card using the New Release words 'Just Married'. Let me take you through my techniques used on this card.

I used pearlised cardstock for my stacker layers and used a Silver Pen to shade all my Silver accents and scalloped layers. My top stacker layer I embossed with my Hearts Embossing Plate.

My Bride I glued on an overlay of lace and once dry replaced back into my Die to trim off the excess lace. I shaded the Happy Couple with Distress Inks and added some Bling and a Floral Bouquet.

My Chandelier was coloured with a Silver Pen and a little touch of Gold Gilding wax on the Tassles. For my candles I painted on a little Beeswax I had melted in my Meltpot, the flames were shaded with Copics and a touch of Glossy Accents added. Finishing it off with lots of bling.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Create Flowers

Hi Everyone, now that the Christmas season is over I thought it would be nice to make a card filled with summery flowers for my DT post at Cheery Lynn Designs.

My card has lots of layers, tattering at the edges, adding Frantage Powders and tucking in doily accents. My inverted scalloped edge was made using a piece of waste paper and cutting out a scalloped square.

My Watering Can was painted with Pewter Distress Paint and adding some Archival Ink for shading. I then added a little Grass to the base and on the top of the Watering Can I shaded with a Pale Blue pen and added Glossy Accents for a watery look.

I cut out 2 of my Leafy Flourishes, placing one on my card, the other I cut into sections and placed into my design with my Flowers which have Flower Soft added to their centres.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy New Year 2016

Happy New Year to everyone, let's hope 2016 is a wonderful year ! Today for my DT card at Cheery Lynn Designs I have made a celebration card that could easily be adapted into another type of card by simply changing the words.

I started off by cutting layers using plain and patterned Cardstock ( Craft Consortium - Bloom Beautiful ) and tattering the edges of the faux stitched layers.

I layered up my Ornament Flourish and Word dies twice to give a shadow effect.

My Sentiment Tag was also tattered around the edges.

Finishing off with a few sparkly gems and a double layered Butterfly.

Crafty Hugs and I hope you have a nice weekend.

Merry Christmas

Hi Everyone, today I am sharing with you my sparkly Festive card for my DT post at Cheery Lynn Designs. Let me take you through the process of how to apply your glitter to your die cut with a double sided sheet of adhesive.

Step 1: Attach adhesive sheet to White cardstock by releasing one side of the protective layer. You should now have a sheet of paper that has cardstock on one side and the adhesive film for the sticky sheet on other side with its protective layer still on.

Step 2: Place the protective layer side up on die cutting machine and place your die on top and cut.

Step 3: Once cut, glue a fussy cut oval to the back of your die cut. This makes the design POP.

Step 4: Rub an anti static bag over your paper, this way the glitter will only adhere to the adhesive. Now start to cut into the protective layer and lift off the film to reveal the sticky parts of the Holly. Start rubbing green glitter into the area with your finger.

Step 5: Repeating the  process to lift adhesive film again with your craft knife to reveal the sticky parts where you want to put the red glitter.

This process takes a little while but is a great way to apply different colours of glitter without them mixing.

A close up of my mistletoe, using embossing powder with Glossy Accents on top to create the little buds .

My snowy scene at the bottom was created using and Embossing Puff powder and Distress inks.

Have a lovely weekend.

Love You

Hi Everyone, today for my DT card at Cheery Lynn Designs I'm sharing with you a card using one of their fabulous new word dies - Love You. I gave my card a Masculine touch, hopefully to inspire you, as I know we all struggle when it comes to thinking what design to make for a Male, but changing the colours and adding a flower would equally give this design a feminine look.

I used several of my Stacker dies to build my layers and with it coming close to the Festive season I just had to add some Platinum Stickles for an accent of bling.

My Ink bottle was coloured with a Copic Pen and I wrote the work Ink on it. My Feather I inked the edges and ruffled the sides for a realistic look.

I fussy cut a heart shape to place behind my heart doily and gave my word Hugs a shadow effect.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope to catch up with your blogs shortly.
