My rather vibrant card features a combination of stamps, stencils and dies from Pigment Craft Co. The floral frame is designed both for 'regular' cards as well as recipe cards. Haven't tried the latter yet, but I have the products to do so! On my many-things-to-do list for sure!

Color Hues Challenge #41~Aqua and Red...Happy Birthday Gift Bags (Spellbinders Shopping Card Add-Ons)

Welcome to Color Hues Challenge #41, where our lovely Cindy invites us to play with hues of  Red and Aqua for the next two weeks. I'm sure this pretty pairing will see a gallery filled to over-flowing!

We're delighted to have two guest designers joining us: Kim Miller and Marcia Hill. Their cards, along with those of my teammates, are fresh, fabulous and inspiring!

My card features the shopping bags from the first Shopping Cart & Add-ons collection by Becky Roberts/Spellbinders. I love this collection, especially since so many of the add on sets can be used in the cart as well as separately. Versatility, plus! And the new collection has just been released! I'm soooo excited!

Color Hues Challenge #40~Blue and Tan (Light Brown)...Apron Cards

Hello,

Happy May 1st (already!!) and a warm welcome to Color Hues Challenge #40, where I'm inviting you to use hues of blue and tan over the next two weeks. 

Two cards to share, using products from Canada's own Pigment Craft Co: the Apron Strings stamps/dies, along with the Cozy Stitches and Dashed Diamonds cover plates. The aprons on both cards lift up, leaving plenty of space to write a message. This design style means no real need to add the panel to a regular card base (of course, you could, if you wanted).

I used the dots from the stamp set to decorate this apron:  

 For this one, I die cut and adhered all the little hearts. Yes, yes I did! Took no time, thanks to adding Die Cut 'n Bond to the back of my cardstock. Once the hearts were 'sticker-fied', they were quick and easy to place. 

No sentiments on the front, leaving them open for a variety of occasions.

Pigment Craft Co.'s Cup of Happy makes me super happy, especially in pink and green! Dies cut like butter, stamps are fabulous; alignment, perfect!  I added the image and strips to a circle texture cover plate from STAMPlorations. Simple and spring-y!

I reached for a handful of products from The Stamp Market - and a duo of yellow inks from Altenew - to create my card. This butterfly is easy to stamp and the plaid background ever so pretty! Simple...

Color Hues Special Challenge - Yellow and Blue Sunflowers Card for Ukraine and Challenge #36 Green and Gold...Happy St. Patrick's Day

Welcome to a special edition of Color Hues, where we - along with designers from Seize the Birthday - are joining the wider crafting world in showing our support for Ukraine, with Yellow and Blue cards. Little bits of art infused with love! 

I've used Paper Smooches Sunflower dies - the sunflower is Ukraine's national flower - for my card, adding them to a circles texture cover plate from STAMPlorations. The top layer of the flowers and the leaves are LF patterned paper, added for a bit of visual interest. A simple card, but one that reflects what I'm feeling as I watch and listen to what is unfolding.  Hopefully, we'll see peace restored soon.

We're pairing this special feature with our regular challenge, where Lindsey, our hostess, invites us to play with hues of Green and Gold for the next two weeks. St. Patrick's Day is near...as is Spring (I hope!). 

I combined Doodlebug Pot O' Gold patterned papers with Impression Obsession die-cut shamrocks cut from Emerald Green mirror cardstock and a gold happy die + stamp from My Creative Time. Fun to make - and I'm looking forward to sending it to my niece! 

Two challenges means choices for YOU! You can create a card to show love and support for the people of Ukraine or you can make a card using Lindsey's colors of Green and Gold. OR BOTH!

We will have TWO overall winners for this challenge - one for each color pairing - and our usual Top Few.

IMPORTANT: If you decide to make two cards, please post them separately. We don't want to miss any of your awe-mazing creativity!

Color Hues Challenge #34~Red and Black...Phone Booth Hello and Phone Booth Card (Snow in the City collection)

WOW...February 1st already! Time for Color Hues Challenge #34, where Karen is inviting us to use hues of Red and Black for the next two weeks. A dramatic combination for so many occasions.

I've used my Elizabeth Craft Phone Booth Kit, meant to be a journal/album, to create a slimline card, simply by not using the planner dies. Loads of versatility with this collection; I just need to do more playing.

While making the phone booth, I remembered my gorgeous Ciao Bella *Snow in the City* collection. I've made an album with a good selection of the papers (not shared as yet), but have an assortment of pieces that are perfect for cards/tags. This image here: one of my favourites. I thought it went nicely with my phone booth, so a pairing was made.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! May 2022 be a year of joy!

Welcome to Color Hues Challenge #32, where Hannelie has selected hues of red and purple as inspiration for the next two weeks. 

Even though I'm still in Christmas/Winter card mode, I decided to take a step forward to Valentine's Day. Concord and 9th products all the way! While I'd like to take credit for the cool shading, almost ombre effect on the LOVE, die cut with mirror cardstock, I can't: this cool look is the result of the way the light hit it when photographing. In real life, it's full-on purple...gleaming purple, at that!

Color Hues Challenge #31~Red and Green...Advent Calendar Tags

And here we are: December already! Where has the time gone! 

Welcome to Color Hues Challenge #31, where Cindy, our fabulous hostess, has chosen hues of Red & Green for us to play with until December 29th! Lots of time to join in!

  

I made an Advent Tags calendar! All 24 of the tags are the same size (sorry the photos may not reflect that) and feature an assortment of die-cut numbers, along with bits-and bobs of scrap paper, stickers, die-cuts, ephemera...whatever I had that was red and green (plus neutrals). The tags are attached, with a wee bit of magnetic tape, to the backside of 2.5" tins I found at Michaels. Once they're detached from the tins, I can get the tins back (because this calendar will go to either my niece or nephew - I've made a second calendar that I'll share soon) to reuse them for another event. Yes, this took a fair amount of time to make but what a great way to set my Christmas spirit soaring!  The absolute best-est-est part of this calendar was giving it to my niece in person, when she and my brother visited on Sunday on their way home from her ringette tournament.

The Color Hues Challenge #30~Silver and Gold...Merry Christmas Snowflake (TH and Uniko)

Here we are, already mid-November! Let's not even talk about how close December is!

Welcome to Color Hues Challenge #30 where, as hostess, I'm inviting you to play with hues of Silver and Gold for the next two weeks. I'm not sure that those colours actually 'have' hues but...whatever! Bring out the sparkle, the sheen, the glimmer, the glitter and play! 

A very easy-to-create card for me, using a lovely Tim Holt snowflake die, beautiful Sizzix papers and a lovely sentiment from Uniko.  Technically, my snowflake is not a snowflake (more than 6 sides); rather, it's a sparkly, shimmery snowflake-like ornament, with some sections stacked and some inlay. This two die set has ever so many possibilities; happy to have it in my collection!

The Color Hues Challenge #29~Brown and Orange...Leaves and Frame Thank You

Welcome to Color Hues Challenge #29, where our lovely hostess, Sheri, has selected hues of Brown and Orange as inspiration for the next two weeks. Perfect combination for autumn, Thanksgiving or...whatever sparks your creativity.

My love affair with 49 & Market papers and ephemera continues, as my card clearly shows. I die-cut the frame from a piece of ephemera and added two sprigs of brown, transparent leaves to the top and bottom. The base layer is, of course, patterned paper. Truly, the In the Leaves collection is, in a word, dazzling!
