Hoppy Easter

Hi and welcome to another fabulous challenge at SugarPea Designs!  This week we have a classic sketch, which allows lots of room for creativity.

For my card, I decided to make an Easter card using the adorable One Big Hoppy Family set.

I stamped and colored Mama Rabbit and her babies using Copics and then die-cut the panel with the Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles die.  I layered than onto a piece of Harvest Gold and wrapped some yellow twine around it.  On the card base, I sponged over the Mini Chicken Wire stencil using Scattered Straw ink, fading it out towards the center of the card.

The image panel is popped up on foam tape and I called it done!  Thanks for visiting.

Here are the guidelines to join in our challenge:

  • Create a new card or project using the sketch provided.
  • SugarPea Designs stamps are NOT required to play along or to win but would be appreciated :)
  • You may rotate/flip the sketch & replace shapes – so long as the original sketch layout is recognizable.
  • Upload to your blog or other Online Gallery using Keyword: SPDSS45 so that we may check out your beautiful work.
  • One randomly selected winner will receive a $25 Gift Certificate to the SugarPea Designs store. However, if the winning entry features a SugarPea Designs stamp we will increase the prize to $75!
  • We will announce our Main Winner at the end of each month.
  • The more times you play along during the month, the better chance you have of winning!
Be sure to visit the rest of the design team - they have some wonderful inspiration for you:

Another Bunny Card!

I really think I'm going to have to start sending Easter cards as this is about the third one I've made this year!  I just can't keep away from Everybunny - such a cute, cute set and I don't normally do cute.

Anyway, this card covers the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, the color challenge at Still AddINKtive and the inspiration photo at Stampin' Royalty.  I used the color part of the challenge at Still AddINKtive but I do hope to try my hand at my first round card using this sketch at some stage.

I stamped the girl bunny onto Shimmery White paper and colored her in using blender pen and inkpads.  If you look closely, you can see the Rich Razzleberry eggs and the scalloped hem on her dress.  Apologies to all Rich Razzleberry fans, but it would have to be my most disliked color - my eye twitches when I see it LOL.  The sentiment is from the Easter Blossoms set which retired a while ago.  I used the Elegant Bouquet folder on the Whisper White panel to break up the expanse of white.  The flower trim (love that stuff!) was dyed using Pretty in Pink re-inker and water in a mister.

Here are the challenge graphics:

Thanks for looking.
