My Garden Twirlers-Being Redesigned

I love these little Garden Twirlers. They are my own creation. They just dangle, twirl and dance in the wind.  I love things for the garden and in playing around with my glass, wanted to make something besides windchimes for my garden. Viola!  The problem is, they don't really show well in pictures online.  In person, they draw quite a crowd and sales at shows.  But in pictures they hang too long and just don't show up well.  So, I've decided to redesign them for my online shops, KayzKreationz at Etsy, and KayzKreationz at Artfire.  The first one to be redone will be this Beige and Purple Garden Twirler that is featured on Artfire.  It's beige and purple diamond shaped glass pieces hung from a piece of driftwood found on our small Texas Wildlife Ranch.  So if you've hearted this Garden Twirler on Artfire and want it the way it is, you'll have to make up your mind pretty quick.  I'll be redesigning it in the next day or so and it will be no more.  Also, unfortunately the price will have to go up, since I'll be adding some extra things to it.  I'm hoping to get better pricing on it, though.  This Purple Garden Twirler on Etsy will be next.  Again, if you've hearted it or been watching it, make your move now before it's redone.  I'm hoping the new design will sell better online.  I'll be posting when I get them redesigned with the new pics and the new listings.  Meanwhile, if you're dying for some Glass Kreationz for you Home or Garden be sure to check out both my shops.  KayzKreationz on Etsy and KayzKreationz on Artfire.  Enjoy.

Bud Lite Beer Bottle Windchime-Recycled

I love making these windchimes.  They're made out of Beer Bottles-Recycled.  I take the labels off, clean the bottles well, fire them slowly in my kiln with wire fused in them for hanging.  Once they've cooled, I take them out, clean them and decoupage the labels back on with a decoupage glue.  Then I hang them from a piece of driftwood from our small Texas ranch with strong fishing line and then use screw eyes and chain to hang the entire windchime.  Everybody seems to have a favorite.  And these seem to be a favorite with my customers.  I even did one this summer for a lady here in Texas.  It had a Coors Lite, Miller Lite and Bud Lite bottle for her "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere" area in her home.  These make great gifts and look great hanging either in your home or outside on your deck/porch.  But, I have to warn you, they make LOTS of noise. LOL.  Also, if you're hanging them outside, you may want to seal the tops of the bottles so water doesn't get down in them and freeze and break your bottles. (I learned this the hard way.  The man I bought my first set from didn't tell me that.)  The Bud Lite Beer Bottle Windchime-Recycled can be purchased in my Etsy shop, KayzKreationz.  I'm currently also working on a Corona Beer Bottle windchime.

Wow! When I checked in on my blog tonight, I realized I had finally hit 200 followers! I did a little happy dance.  I've been trying to get to 200 followers for quite a while.  I love blogging about my Stained Glass, Mosaics and Fused Glass Kreationz for Home and Garden.  Plus I really like blogging about our small Texas ranch and the wildlife management we do.  I was just waiting to get to 200 followers so I could announce that somewhere between 250 and 300 followers I'm going to do a Glass or Bead giveaway.  So if you want your chance to win either a glass piece or a beaded piece, just keep following my blog and checking in.  I'd especially like it if you leave a comment on any post you really enjoy.

"It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere" Beer Bottle windchime

Woohoo! I got my first Custom request. A customer on Etsy convo'd my shop, KayzKreationz, and asked about a custom Beer Bottle windchime. She has a "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere" area on her back porch/deck and wanted a beer bottle windchime, like the Miller Lite one I had listed some time back. But she wanted a Miller Lite, Bud Lite, and Coors Lite bottle on it. (One of each) I got the bottles fired fairly quick, but it took me a while to find a suitable piece of "driftwood" from off our small Texas ranch to hang it from. I finally got it finished today and listed for her. She loves it. So if you're interested in something similar, just post here, convo me on Etsy or tweet me: KayzKreationz and I'll be glad to make you your own Custom Beer Bottle windchime. ETSY Day is here--Check out great Handmade shops

Today's the Day. ETSY day is finally here. Hundreds or maybe even thousands of Etsy buyers/sellers are promoting Etsy in lots of ways. Most are putting an Etsy car sign on their vehicles while they go to work, shopping or just driving around to get the word out about Etsy. Others are leaving fliers and bookmarks around where they shop, eat, or with people they talk to. Some are being interviewed on their local news or newspapers. The idea is to get the word out about Etsy and let people know about a great place to buy genuine HANDMADE items, instead of mass produced. Etsy also has some great supply shops for crafters and wonderful vintage shops for those of us that love vintage (or can't seem to get out of the past) :) So if you're tired of the same old thing for gifts, home decor or even clothing, check out ETSY. Your place for all things Handmade, Supply and Vintage.

New Listings coming to Etsy for spring

I love spring. The grass is getting green, the trees and flowers are budding and blooming. The birds, butterflies and bees are returning. And I get the urge to get my garden weeded, back in shape, planted, etc. My grandmother had a green thumb and was always working in her yard and garden. She loved having feeders out for the birds. My grandfather even managed to tame/train a wild squirrel to come down out of the trees, come up on his porch and eat right out of his hands. I guess that's where I get it. So with my glass, I have a tendency to create things that decorate my yard and garden or help the wildlife in some way. In both my shops on Etsy and Artfire, I have things for just that purpose. My plant stakes decorate your garden and your potted plants. My birdfeeders can be used for that purpose or even as shallow bird baths or butterfly baths. Butterflies need shallow baths and these small terra cotta feeders are just right for that purpose, too. My windchimes decorate, twist and chime in the wind for your enjoyment. Treasury West-Raindrops on Roses

I'm so excited. There was a promotion thread on etsy about treasuries and treasury lists. If you posted your list you would get it on the front page. I posted mine last night and it was on the FRONT page tonight. It was so great. And then, about 1:00 a.m. I got my FIRST TREASURY WEST with that list. It's called "Raindrops on Roses... Feeding my Blog and Etsy shop to Twitter--Purple Glass vase

Yay, I think I figured out how to get my Etsy feed and my Blog feed to Twitter. Thanks to Timothy Adam Designs. I should know if I did it right in about an hour. Had a nice afternoon, taking some pictures of some more candle holders I have made up and a nice small purple vase I'm hoping to get listed in the next day or two. Also found my Bud Lite Beer Bottle windchime, so I need to get some pictures of it and list it. I love those windchimes.

My husband spent the day redoing our road. We were able to buy some road base and have it delivered yesterday (3, 18-24 yd belly dump trucks full). So he spent the whole day on his tractor moving it around and smoothing it out, filling in the potholes we had and building it up where it keeps washing out when it rains. LOL Hasn't rained in months (at least not enough to measure), but when it does we're ready! My first Etsy Sale!

Oh, happy day! I got my first Etsy sale today! I'm so excited. My hubby says "we're rolling in the money now". :)
Now it's just the matter of getting it boxed and shipped. I'm always nervous shipping my glass. Although I wrap things well, double box and cushion, you never know with the Post Office or any other shipping company for that matter. Sometimes I think they just like to see if they can break your items no matter what you do. And then of course, all that boxing, cushioning doesn't make for pretty packaging. But I'm just happy if it get's there safe and sound and the buyer enjoys it.
Anyway let's all celebrate! Maybe more sales are on the way.
