Anistyn LOVES animals. Any kind of animal. And when I say animal, I also must include insects, reptiles, fish.....you get the picture. She has loved animals since she was just a small baby when she discovered our dog Max. We had already had him for 2 years when she was born, so he was a big, full-grown Lab. She loved to sit on his back, pull his ears, grab his tail, and even throw his ball for him when she was old enough. She still continues to be a great dog trainer--taught by her Daddy. Both of our dogs listen to her better than they listen to me! The other night when I went into her room after she fell asleep, I found the above. She LOVES Webkinz! Why?? They have every kind of animal, of course! She got 7 of them for her birthday and she always has at least one of them with her. Seeing them all arranged neatly for bedtime made me smile. And to see that she sacrificed her favorite blanket for them to lay on was another testament to how much she loves them. If this girl doesn't grow up to be a vet or do something else that involves animals, I will be shocked!

Labor Day at the cabin....again!
For the past 4 or 5 years, we have spent Labor Day at my Uncle Mitch's cabin at Panguitch Lake. We always have a great time. This year Kevin and Lara and their kids Maxx, Layla and Tyrus came with us. They brought their RV to stay in so they could have some peace and quiet for the kids to nap (sound travels quickly around the cabin). On Saturday we went for a hike to Mossy Cave in Bryce Canyon (after a lunch at Henrie's, of course!). It was so beautiful there! It was the perfect hike for kids--just a short 1/2 mile with easy terrain. We spent the rest of our time just hanging out, playing outside, taking jeep rides, and enjoying the beautiful weather. Thanks again Mitch for lending us your wonderful cabin....until next year!
Anistyn's birthday lunch
The day after Anistyn's birthday, I told her she could invite 2 friends and I would take them to lunch and then to Chuck E. Cheese. She invited her friends Cass & Lydia. I had such a blast carting around three 6 & 7 year old girls! They were HILARIOUS! They talked, giggled, sang, and were just plain silly. They all had a great time and I'm so grateful that Anistyn has such great friends!
Happy 6th Birthday Anistyn!!!
A couple of weeks ago my sweet girl turned 6!!! How did this happen??? It was a big week at our house with the start of 1st grade, our 12 year anniversary, and then Anistyn's birthday. She chose to have a bug-themed party and I hired my friend Becky to make a ladybug cake. Isn't she AMAZING??? (see above picture) Not only was it the cutest cake I have ever seen, but also the yummiest. Thanks Becky! We had a great party with just family. Several were missing, but we'll take what we can get on a Friday night. Anistyn got lots of awesome presents and had a great time. Happy Birthday to my pretty girl! I am so proud of the grown-up girl that you are. I love how smart and funny you are. You make me laugh and smile every day.
I love you!!!
