Outdoor Bliss 2013

Last week marked the first official heatwave of the season here in South Jersey.  For the first time in years we got to enjoy a seasonable Spring with cool temps up until Memorial Day which is the unofficial start of Summer around here.  People head "Down the Shore",  roadside produce stands abound with fresh Jersey sweet corn and tomatoes, and weekends are filled with BBQ's.  But for me the best part is getting to spend time outside with my family and friends.

Sprucing up our outdoor spaces is something I look forward to every year.  I love being outside, getting my hands dirty in the garden and decorating the front porch.

Late Summer...

Looking forward to Fall, my favorite Season.

But not quite ready for Summer to be over...

Outdoor Bliss

We've been busy sprucing up the outside our our home lately.  Out front we painted the shutters and front door.  The facade of our house is a farmhouse style.   I chose an eggplant color for the shutters and a celery for the door.  I love how it turned out.  Amy and I also spray painted the wicker furniture white.

I love having a front porch to sit and watch the world go by.

I've had this little bench for ages and I gave it a fresh coat of paint to match the front door.  Many a family of birds has called it home over the years.

It's going to be a scorcher this weekend.  Another heat wave is in the forecast.
