bloom organic airbrush tanning: discount and giveaway

local entreprenette #3

say hello to Renae...
this stunning lady also had a baby girl around the same time i had felicity.  poppy is her name.  poppy and felicity....two delightful names, destined to be friends.  renae is someone you immediately want as your friend. she has a warm, inviting nature with an ever-present essence of absolute coolness- her beauty always looking effortless.  her heart is big, super big.  one of my first meetings with renae was during our community garage sale.  renae and her husband, jesse, were thrilled to be planting a church and renae was searching for the perfect toys for their new members' children.  you could see the excitement in her hands as she choose each item with care.

i am delighted to have Renae introduce herself and her business

I have been married to my husband Jesse for 7 wonderful years. We have 2 children, a son Braeden who is 5 and a 2 year old daughter Poppy. They couldn't be more opposite and I couldn't be more happy. Our hearts are so full. We have been in ministry for five years learning and growing from Jesus each step of the way.
I have loved tanning since the early days of high school growing up in Bakersfield. Banana boat...boom box...105 degree weather. Then came tanning beds. Im fair skinned, that's a nice way to put it. The madness had to stop. I found airbrush tanning about two years ago and "organic" was the cherry on top. I actually care about skin now-and yours:) I'm the mom at the pool lathering my little Irish kids in SPF 50 every few hours. You don't have to damage your skin anymore to have a tan. It's a wonderful thing.

Bloom Tanning is a mobile organic airbrush tanning service. For whatever the occasion we want to make you come alive from the inside out. If a beautiful bronze tan is what you need to feel confident with what you already have, we can do that for you. Airbrush tanning is the safest way to achieve that flawless tan while softening your skin, naturally.

Our product is a perfect blend of natural ingredients that will bronze your skin while keeping it moisturized, radiant and hydrated throughout the tanning process. It is formulated with organic oils (high in antioxidants), green tea extract, organic herbs, vitamins and natural colours. The skin-firming formula goes to work while your tan develops. All of our products are hypoallergenic, paraben-free, and alcohol-free. The unique formula is custom blended to give you the most natural tan based on each client's skin or preference.

***

doesn't that just sound luxurious?!
well you are due for a luxurious reward
renae is offering a $15 discount off your first tanning by mentioning this giveaway and contacting her here or over on her website
it gets even better for one lucky Inland Empire resident...

building a sense of community: say hello to local entreprenettes

one of the things i wanted to accomplish with Craft Explosion this year
was to provide a greater sense of community
women meeting other women that they may have passed at the grocery store or at the school,
but never had a chance to chat with
we had many attendees this year who met lots of new neighbors
so happy to see that!!

another way i hoped to achieve this idea of community
was to give many of these amazing women who are small business owners an opportunity to share their companies with the local ladies
three of them took me up on this idea and provided business cards with discounts which were added to the goodie bags for the craft explosion attendees

i wanted to introduce these lovely entreprenettes to you all as well
they have extended their discounts
and have added some delightful giveaways just for my readers

may i introduce these fine specimens from the ranks of work-at-home moms...
Sherrie of Domestic Days
Valerie of 2Troublemakers
Renae of Bloom Tanning  {coming soon}

visit each post to meet them and partake of their discounts and enter the giveaways

2Troublemakers: discount and giveaway

say hello to Valerie...
this woman has drive and ambition.  she is a go-getter.  i first met Valerie when she spoke at a MOPS {mothers of preschoolers} event and shared tips she had learned from having her own photography business.  since that day i have seen her bouncing around town exercising, volunteering at the schools, being a voice and the hands for charity after charity, and now creating a successful online business for the coolest kids around.

i am happy to have Valerie introduce her shop she started with her friend Nicole

So, 2troublemakers is basically your one stop shop for cool boy things. (and some tomboy things!!)
Nicole has 2 boys, Otto and Augie, now 6 and 4, and she was constantly scouring the internet for cool products for her boys. I had Cyrus 3 years ago and was very frustrated with the lack of cool boy's items in the stores. While Nicole scoured and always found the best stuff (ask anyone, her boys are the best dressed/accessorized kids around!), and I just sort of settled on the basic everyday options at all of the local stores, we were still left frustrated. Then Nicole, just thought "hey what if there was just one cool website where people can buy everything they need". She knew that we could do the leg work and make it easy for other mamas. She brought me in on the idea and after lots of work and time, our website came together. We are always on the lookout for cool products and we just put it out there. We sell wallets, suspenders, bow-ties, moto gear, patches, and lots of fun other things for little dudes. We are having so much fun with it because we are passionate about our products! And, we are stoked that people "get" us. We were a little worried that everyone really was into fire engines and puppy dogs on their boy's stuff! ;-)

the inspiration for their shop...their darling boys

once you look, you can't stop yourself
a few of my favorite things from their shop:
4. union jack bento box
5. green/black checkered bow tie
6. mustache reusable drinking straw set

read more about how they came up with their name over on their blog

Valerie and Nicole created their own darling goodie bags for Craft Explosion attendees.
And they are extending a generous discount to all of you at their wicked shop 2Troublemakers
20% off your purchase by entering the coupon code EXPLOSION20 at checkout

I am also hosting a 2TROUBLEMAKERS GIVEAWAY

TWO lucky Sweet Dreams are Made of These readers will each win a set of Toyboarders!!

i am in love with these, and so are my kids;)  they are a twist on army men...little green skaters.
see them in action below and tell me your boys won't go nuts over these.
{watch out they may replace Legos as the new pain in your feet:)}

*This giveaway will close at midnight on Wednesday December 12th PST
*This giveaway is open to anyone on the planet:)
* The winner will be chosen using Rafflecopter and will have 48 hours to respond to the winner notification email. After 48 hours another winner will be chosen.

domestic days: discount and giveaway

local entreprenette #1

say hello to Sherrie...
I met her at our now mutual friend's lovely Crafternoon: full of buntings, vintage lace, and her bestie, yarn.  She taught me how to do this complicated twisty dealy that turned into a lovely necklace.    She has a warm heart and would drop anything and drive over windy hills just to come to your rescue.
I later met Tyler, and he and Sherrie became some of my square dance partners.  He won me over instantly with his twinkling eyes and humble nature.

i am happy to have Sherrie {pronounce sure-ree} introduce their shop

Domestic Days is a husband and wife team. Wifey, Sherrie, does all the crafting, sewing, crocheting, anything really to add a little handmade to your day.  Hubby, Tyler, does all the digital design. So whether you need an invitation, thank you card, gift, or a little something to brighten your own day, we can create it!

We have been married 5 years. We met while on a missions trip in Scotland. We have 3 kids. Tyler studied graphic design. I learned to crochet from great grandma when i was 12.  I first learned to hand sew when i was 7 & then started sewing with my mom on a machine when was in my 20s. Aside from doing arts & crafts we love to travel, go to Disney, & play board games. :)  We also volunteer with a group that supports emancipated foster youth.

{sidenote from me:  i once came upon them playing a board game and found Tyler holding a plunger high in the air.  an image i will not soon forget}

a few of my favorite things in her shop:

you can read more about her crafting and mothering adventures on her blog of the same name

Sherrie has extended the discount that she gave the Craft Explosion attendees to all of you.
Upon checking out of their delightful shop Domestic Days, enter the code: CXP12 for 10% off of your purchase.

I am also hosting a DOMESTIC DAYS GIVEAWAY

June Class: OPEN CLASS- Endless Possibilities!!! and SPECIAL GIVEAWAY

Brought to you by Briana Johnson Photography:-) oo, I need a cooler name, any suggestions?

Don't you love these images!! I came across these vintage sewing machines in New York as I was window shopping in Soho.  They were used to line the wall of some fashion shop called AllSaints.  I walked by the shop and these caught my eye.  Did a complete double-take!  They were so gorgeous, so show-stopping.  I couldn't believe it.  The history these machines could tell!

So I thought these machines might inspire you to think of the endless possibilities that are yours for this month's

OPEN SEWING CLASS
Tues, June 14th @ 7:30-9:30pm
@Briana Johnson's Home

So ladies that means drag out those unfinished projects or that project you've been dying to make time for and head on over to get busy, busy!!  I would be happy to help you with any project you may have and answer any questions.

To help you get in the mood for the class and to give the class some needed revamping, I've decided to do a special giveaway this month.  One lucky winner will be swept off her feet...

no, not by a dashing man...sorry I don't have the budget for that.  By one of my

 Polka Dot Square Parkdale Aprons
shown below

Once upon a time I had a little sewing business and I still have a few aprons left that I've been saving.  This one is not your ordinary day apron, but one perfect for a bright, fresh Summer's Day!

Here's How you ENTER the GIVEAWAY:
  • 1 Entry for RSVPing for the Class- comment or use the RSVP gadget on the blog, email, FB, call, text, knock on my door, etc.
  • 1 Extra Entry for RSVPing to me early by Fri, June 10th and telling me what project you will be doing.
  • 1 Additional Entry for participating in My "What in the World Do You Want to Learn How to Sew?" Inquiry by:
Emailing me 2 links to online tutorials of things you would like to learn how to sew! You can find some great sites with ideas by looking in my sidebar section entitled "Sewing and Wearable Craft Inspiration Blogs and Websites".

From your suggestions I will take 8-10 of the ideas for you to vote on here on the blog later on in the month of June.  I will choose them based on the following: do I think that we could complete the project in 2 hours, the expense of the supplies, the complexity of the instructions, if it sticks with our focus of sewing and wearable crafts.
This class is about YOU and what YOU want to LEARN how to sew!  So I need YOUR HELP to tell me what you want to LEARN.

So that's 3 chances to win the pleasantly peppy Parkdale Apron.  Its calling out to you for a backyard BBQ!!
I look forward to hearing from you and seeing your fantabulous sewing project ideas.  If you are not on our email list, please make a comment and I will contact you.

April RSVP Giveaway: Bow Cuff

This month's RSVP Giveaway inspiration was taken from this cuff from ModCloth entitled
I'm not sure that mine will have irresistible charm, but I think it will be charming:-)  Here it is completed, born from a purse I bought thrifting for $.50.

Charming Cuff

I wanted to make sure that I got this posted last night so I could remind all you procrastinators:-)  to please RSVP for our classes TODAY, April 12th @ 7:30pm @my house, Briana Johnson:

Infant/Toddler Mary Jane Shoes

See our previous posts for details on supplies.
Can't wait to see the flood of RSVPs: email, comments, RSVP gadget on the blog, FB, calls, texts, etc.

March Class: RSVP Giveaway- Anthropologie Inspired Shoe Clips

For this month's RSVP Giveaway I was feeling the need to create something quick for our giveaway, so of course where is a guaranteed place for inspiration, Anthropologie. {a store I've only coveted, but never purchased for myself from- one of these days:-)}  I found these darling shoes, love the splash of color and burlap bow.  So I decided to make shoe clips with what I had at home.

I don't know if you've noticed but shoe clips are back!!  I remember as a little girl my mom trying to put them on my shoes and me not being very excited about it.  I was not a bow fan as a little girl or teenager.  I have definitely gotten more feminine in my style as I've gotten older.

So here they are for you to win this month.  Remember its called inspired by, not replicated:-)  I thought they were a great addition to your spring wardrobe and can bring a nautical feel to any old shoe, so I made me some too!

Just RSVP to let me know you are coming and which class you will be attending.  The RSVP thingy is back up on the blog-apparently it was just on vacation:-), so if you are a follower of our blog then you can RSVP through that, but please still let me know which class you will be doing.  If you are not a follower and you should sign up to be, I'll give you an extra drawing in the giveaway.

See you guys tomorrow!!!

February RSVP Giveaway: Life-saving Liquid Stitch

Yes, its that time again...The countdown to our next class...those last few days, hours to get all your fabric and notions purchased and then that fabric ready for class.

This month our RSVP Giveaway is one of my favorite products:
LIQUID STITCH

This stuff is amazing and life-saving if you've got to repair something and don't have the time or resources to do it "properly" or if you just don't want to use your machine.  It's MacGyver's companion or Lazy Susan's champion, whichever suits you:-)

This little bottle is great to have around.  Here's the little description of it:
No need for sewing when this permanent glue holds fabric in place-wash afterwash! Just the thing for easy, stitch-free crafting; great for hemming too. The liquid fabric adhesive dries clear for flawless results
So you know the drill:  call, email, comment on the blog, FB, text, yell across the neighborhood...
Wow there's a lot of ways to communicate, so pretty please choose one and let me know yay or nay on coming and if its a Yay!! please let me know which class.

Thanks so much and I would love love it if I could get some help with those needed things listed in the sidebar: lamps, extension cords, ironing boards, etc.

January RSVP Giveaway: Cozy Slippers

Fabulous Miss Heather is busy whipping up some slippers for this night's GIVEAWAY.  Fabric and style unknown, but that's just part of the fun!  I know you wish they were these; this pair is a heated bunny slipper:-)  (Who knew?)

For those of you new to our group, we offer a giveaway each month for those who RSVP to let us know if they will be coming or not and which class they will be attending.

Various methods include: Email, Comment on Blog, Call, Yell across the neighborhood, FB, Run into me at JoAnns, or Ding Dong Ditch with a note and plate of cookies.  Any will do!

This is very helpful to Heather and I so that we can have enough handouts, supplies, tables, chairs, cords, etc for everyone.  We hope that this is does not discourage you from coming, but help you get ready for the class as well.  #1 Priority: COME!

So we hope to hear from you all today, SINCE the class IS TONIGHT.  Thanks to all those who have already RSVPed.

See ya soon!

November RSVP Giveaway - Dressing Up Your Tissue

We all can use a little incentive to do things that aren't necessarily our favorite.  So once again we are bribing you with a GIVEAWAY for RSVPing,
whether its a YES (which we would love ) or
a 'no' (so sad)
we'll still enter you into the drawing.

This month our lovely Heather is whipping up this sweet little
TISSUE COVER,

which sadly I can not win, because its at my house, so no RSVP necessary.

But for one of you lucky ladies, you can be styling as you daintily take out a tissue to wipe your needy nose, or quite likely, for a little person.

So please,
EMAIL,
CALL,
COMMENT,
or YELL.

Let us know if you are coming and to which class.

See ya tomorrow (hopefully) !

Did I mention our RSVP Giveaway?

Forgive me, I failed to mention our RSVP Giveaway for this month.  It is a darling birdie reusable tote from Joanns.  The birds are chirping, "Craft, Create, and Conserve".  How eco savvy!  I'm loving all the cute designs stores are coming out with for their reusable shopping bags.

So here's what you need to do:
  • RSVP to us via email, comment on the blog, phone call, or Michelle & I's favorite way- a yell across the neighborhood.  Any old way will do.  Our RSVP thing on our blog has disappeared, and I was loving it so much.   Even if its to tell us you aren't coming, we'll still enter you in the drawing.  Make sure to mention WHICH CLASS you will be doing.
  • If you are new to our group or haven't fill out our SURVEY yet, please do so and you can enter a second time.  The survey can be found here.
  • If you haven't signed up to 'FOLLOW' our site yet, sign up and you can enter an additional time.  Just look for the 'Follow' button in the left hand column.

We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday!  If you can help us out by bringing any of the 'Needed Items' listed in the left hand column, that would be awesome.  Thanks ladies!

The Sweet Smell of Success!!!

We did it!!!  We tackled our first projects.  Most of us left that night proudly carying either a pillowcase or a pillow cover.  And I've heard from a few others that completed them on their own since leaving the class.  Great work ladies.  We had such a great time on Wednesday, filling up my home with 17 industrious women.  We could have even squeezed a few more in:-)  There were laughs.  There were screams.  There were even a few women close to chucking their machines out the window.  Thankfully no tears.  Mistakes were creatively salvaged.  Overall, Success!!!  Thank you to all for coming and helping to bring our needed supplies.  Here are a few photos of us knee deep in the sewing trenches.

Remember to send us photos of your finished projects gracing their new homes:-)  We are working on setting up a Flickr group so that you can upload them for everyone to see.  Be proud of your finished projects!!  We share in your joy and give you a virtual pat on the back for a job well done {even if you don't think so:-) }

Congratulations to Vanessa for being our winner of our RSVP Giveaway.  She is now a new owner of a functionally chic pink measuring tape:-)  Thanks to all those who RSVPed, even those that couldn't come.  We don't want to discourage anyone from coming, even if its a last minute decision without a RSVP.  Just come!, but RSVPing does help us tremendously in preparing for the class.

Keep your enthusiasm for sewing going by trying out one of our At Home Projects or get inspiration from any of the amazing inspirational sites listed in the sidebar that are full of tutorials and photos.  Get together with others, chat on the blog, ask us questions! {You can find them most easily by looking in the left column under the 'Labels' section and clicking on 'At Home Projects'}

We love to hear what you thought about the class and any feedback you have to give.  Thanks for your patience as we form our group and get the ball rolling.  We look forward to next month's class in which you can choose to make an apron or a shoulder bag.  Details to come soon!!!  Happy Sewing.
