Exploding Box

I was commissioned to make a special box for a special day for a special man....

I had these lovely old papers that are more like thick card,
and suitable for a masculine look

I made pockets and inserted tags

and placed an acetate box in the centre

Here's the box closed

Special Day

Today a Nephew turns 18, a very special day for a special man.

I wanted to make something different,
so started with the idea of a spinner card.

I had a light bulb moment of adding two circles to make a figure eight

and for the 1 I decided to cut a strip and make a shaker section with fancy acetate and sequins

It took some time to plan and make

more than a few attempts to get the spinner going freely around the 'eight'

and some finishing touches with the moon and earth

and decorated the inside with the offcuts

and my very first video !

Happy New Year !

I used lots of snippets of card paper and sequins, so I'm
off to play in the Snippets Playground.....
where there's another fantastic prize on offer!

Shoot for the Moon

Hello, how are you?
I made a 'boy' card...struggled to know what he was 'into',
so came up with this, that he might like....

did a 'spinner' card,
made easy by Stampin Up's dies and stamp set

managed to fit 3 sentiments in the 'smile' groove,

decoupaged the paper plane,
and added the shooting star.

I have no idea if he liked it, but it was fun to make for him.

Much more exciting was that.....
my dear other half took him, his Bro, and Mum, on the RHDR railway,
except it crashed,
although no one was hurt thank goodness,
he was eager to share his story at school :)

Have a great weekend

Happy Father's Day

I hope you have had a lovely day,
I do know it can be difficult for those who have lost loved ones.

I am very lucky to still have mine...

....and Alan's Dad....

here's the spinner cards I made with a brand new bundle from Stampin' Up!,
and some retired stamps....

I made matching envelopes....

close-ups of the spinner...

I'll share the 'how to' another time.

lots of love
