The theme for the Irish Foodies December cookalong was Christmas. Well, what else could it be this festive month? As the snow fell and covered the ground in a thick blanket last Friday I busied myself in the kitchen. I will do separate posts over the next few days with recipes but for now here are pictures of my offerings.
Beyooooootiful
ReplyDeleteThose photographs are just beautiful, like something from Christmases of yore!
ReplyDeleteOh these all look amazing! I am so annoyed with myself that I didn't make mincemeat this year. Your mince pies look delish. That gingerbread name card is such a fab idea - so cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks Baba, need to brush up on my icing skills but sure they will do for now. :)
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks so much Aisling. I'm trying so hard to put Sharon and Donal's advice into practice. I did break the cardinal rule with these though and shot them at night in artificial light. Roll on summer for longer photographing hours. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Glutton. It was the first time since school that I made my own mincemeat and will definitely be doing it from now own. It was so much better than shop bought versions. Have 1 jar left but think I need to make some more. The Lilly Higgins column I sent you inspired the place settings, cant wait to make them for Christmas day. :)
ReplyDeleteYummmm!
ReplyDeleteI am dying for the recipe for the gingerbread place settings! I want to do them for Christmas Day! Your blog has been my goto place for all my Christmas baking! Can't wait to have a try of it all!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Clare,
ReplyDeleteI have just posted the recipe for the gingerbread cookies and will post a 'how to' for the place settings tomorrow if I get a chance.
