Painted Dogs, Bird and Rainbow Pencil

Digitally painted, painted dogs

The bird was created on my tablet and cut out with my digital cutter [KNK Zing Air]

I used a multi-coloured pencil for this page in my sketchbook.

Then I went over it with water, don't know why as its not a water soluble pencil.

I used a fine liner pen to add marks following the direction of the pencil.
The bird was taken from an old greetings card.

Gift Exchange

I met up with the arty girls at the weekend for a meal out and exchange of handmade gifts and cards.
The lovelies I received were a box of cakes - these were made from paper and the lid lifted to reveal little presents - buttons, glitter, chocolate, washi tape.
A handmade book with various types of paper pages and a cover with real leaves. Also a hand cut bird tag.
A handmade book - this one is a weekly planner. Each page was personalized and printed with to do lists, diary, shopping list, doodles etc
A gift to come at a later date

I made and gave 3D layered pictures. Designed in my sketchbook, tweeked on the computer and cut on my Zing Air. I used various cards and papers and also painted the layers which were then put in shop bought frames with glass fronts. The glass made it difficult to photograph because of other things reflected in it. Three of the frames are white although they look blue, the other is black.

I found the dragons as clip art.

More Sketchbook 47 pages [107-113]

The top part of the flower was cut on my Zing on paper I'd printed one of my designs on. The cut pattern was designed on my tablet.

The lower cut is very delicate and I've cut it twice and ripped it twice. I shall have to try it on card to see if stays together better.
All the circular type cuts were designed on my tablet.

I altered this doodle to make a repeating fabric.

More pages from Sketchbook 47

All the pages have something which has been cut on the Zing.

I cut the bottom right corner off the page and replaced it with a cutout which was a square folded over.
I developed the drawing above to make a repeating fabric, this is a swatch.

Springy Thingy Card

I followed instructions on a Make the Cut webinar recording [Apr 12, now on youtube] for this fold up card. There are perforated lines [cut with the Zing] for the folding lines. It took me ages to work out how to fold it but I got there in the end. Unfortunately with so much folding the thin card tore on one of the perforated lines after I'd painted it so I didn't spend much time decorating it or attach it to background card.
There is a youtube video by Annette Husband on how to make the card without a cutter, this was the original card, using a bone folder for scoring and steam punk decorated. I think if I'd watched this first I may have got the hang of folding quicker.

Zing Cut Out's

The orange flower is a cut out, I used my Zing for cutting. I used the flower as a stencil first so it was painted too.

A heart cut out I used as a stencil. The bird is stamped, a fun foam stamp also cut with the Zing.

These were also cut with my Zing, I created them on a tablet with the Corel App. I'm not sure what to call them - doyley, [or doily], mandala, lacy circles?

Both the hare and the lacy circle were cut with the Zing. I used the same design as the stamped hare from yesterday.

Sketchbook 47 [pages 69 -81]

I cut out fun foam on my Zing machine to make stamps, the birds are stamps as well as the hare and rabbit below. I've added additional details with a pen.

I love this rabbit, I copied it from a greetings card.

After doing the background I applied a thin card cut out - cut on my Zing
