Birds
I drew the birds for a project I am working on, you'll see it sometime in the future hopefully. I thought it would be interesting to keep the birds black and white and use some of my phots for the backgrounds.

Digital Doodles

I used the Infinite Painter App on my tablet for this one

I used the Corel Painter App for the background.
I combined a background with a face repeated 5 times, can you spot the faces?

TAW - Floral

It is a while since I joined in the Take a Word challenge, this week the challenge is Floral and I am hoping the summery flowers will make this miserable dull cold day a bit better. [what happened to flaming June?]
I was rummaging through my picture folders the other day and came across these two creations which I had forgotten about which I did a while ago. [Jan 2011]
The backgrounds were originally pages from one of my sketchbooks which I had altered digitally and my flower photos which I also altered a bit.

A Bird, Two Pigs and Bird Pig

Collage - watercolour backgrounds. The bird drinking tea was added digitally [bird from The Graphics Fairy]
The other pictures are traditional collages using glue. Both the pigs and the bird below were found images, but the bird didn't have a pig head of course. Watercolour backgrounds.

Envelopes and IF [suspense]

I created this envelope on the computer using a free label from here and doing a few alterations such as space for a stamp. I printed it and made it into an envelope. The envelope below was already a cute little square brown envelope. For this one I used a purchased stamp to decorate around the edges.

Illustration Friday's challenge this week is 'suspense'. I used this drawing from my sketchbook of a giant prawn and a man on a beach. Are the tables turned? Will the prawn eat the man instead of the other way round?

Numbers [TAW] and Rolling Stamps 68-71

The Take a Word challenge this week is 'Numbers'.
The numbers I drew in a sketchbook individually, the background was created with a rolling stamp and paint. Then the numbers and background were digitally joined together and altered.
Click the image to enlarge.

The top two rolling stamps were made from fun foam, etched with something sharp, and the lower two are textured wallpapers.
See my article in Cloth Paper Scissors about making rolling stamps, free download here

Autumn & Mesmerizing

Three versions of Autumn for the Three Muses challenge
[altered photos, the interesting window in the version below was at Cragside House]

And for the "Illustration Friday" challenge - mesmerizing - I started off with a brush pen doodle and altered it in Paint.Net for a mesmerizing effect [well maybe it would be if you looked at it long enough]
