All things Girlie

Hello, and welcome!

I've been trying to get to post this for most of the day.....talk about best-laid plans!  I'd actually turned down an invitation to go to see a film with one of my lovely daughters......had to promise to do it another day.......because I had a ton a few things I just couldn't put off any longer.
It's been a glorious, warm and sunny day, so out went the wash onto the line in the back garden, and I took the time to clean out Babbit's hutch whilst I was out there.....had just walked back into the house, my head full of plans for what I was going to do for the rest of the day, and in walked my two handsome sons.....they's arrived together, but each didn't know that the other was coming for a visit....and they live 100 yards away from each other!  They'd driven the 40 miles from their homes, down the same motorway, both with the intention of surprising me with a visit.....and they were both wearing calf-length checked shorts and sweatshirts......apart from the fact that Mark is 33 and dark-haired, and Jonathan is 25 and blonde, they could have been twins.......oh......and Jonathan makes a lot of the fact that he's a whole inch taller than his big brother......6 feet 1.....hahaaaa!
Of course, all my plans were laid aside and I had a wonderful time with my baby boys......need to do another shop, now.......empty fridge!

It's time for me to tell you about the new challenge at Perfect Sentiments

PSC77: Make it Feminine
CREATE A CARD AND MAKE IT FEMININE. USE LACE, PEARLS, BLING, LACY DIE CUTS, DOILIES, ANYTHING THAT A GIRL LOVES. DON'T FORGET TO INCLUDE YOUR SENTIMENT ON THE FRONT.

Our lovely sponsor for this challenge is

and our lucky random winner will receive 5 digis as their prize....woohoo!

I loved making this cute card......

I used a white scalloped-edge card base and embossed one side of a piece of pink  Bazzil Basics (De'sire embossing folder) and placed it as the background......

How do you like this little sweetie.....she's called Katy Computer Gal......there's a boy version in the store, too......she's coloured with Promarkers and cut out with a Spellbinder's label.......I added some sweet teeny pink pearls to the edges......

The flowery frame is cut with a Marianne's Creatable die and I popped a lovely green fern behind (freebie from Dies to Die For and I really want this die, but it's out of stock ...tut!)......

The pretty butterfly is cut from brown card....used my Joy Crafts die for this......

I think this little sentiment is from Craftwork Cards, but the packaging is gone, so not sure.....the pretty lace is from Simplicity.......

There's a teeny dragonfly cut from brown card, and I had a bit of the lace left over, so cut off a heart and placed it inside.......I never remember to take a separate pic of the inside of my cards!

I hope you like this offering......take a peek at all the gorgeous girliness that the Design Team have come up with and come back and play!

hugs,

It's Only Make-Believe!

Hello, and welcome!

Do you believe in fairies?.....elves?......gnomes?.......sprites?  Let's say that I would like to believe that such poetically imaginative beings co-exist with us in this lovely world of ours......but.....and let me make this very clear......I do believe in Father Christmas!  Not a shadow of a doubt that he is real......nope......don't try to dissuade me......he is definitely, at this very moment, preparing to bring me something fabulous for next Christmas...hahaaa!
And he's got only 298 days to get it ready.....just sayin'....heehee!!!

We've got a fabulous challenge at Card Crafter's Circle this week....yaaaaaay!

This week we invite you to create cards on the theme of:

MAKE-BELIEVE!
(Elves, Fairies, Gnomes, Pixies, Sprites, etc)

This week, our sponsor is MICHELLE PERKETT STUDIOS! Michelle skilfully presents a huge collection of mermaids, fairies, people, and with various images in between!  They will delight you, so we hope you avail yourself of her designs!

Our random prize winner will receive their choice of one of the gorgeous images showcased by our design team in the challenge post! ( A Hint: Dream Dragonfly is not available in the etsy shop!)   We are thrilled to have MPS sponsoring our challenges... because the images are so beautiful... and because they will always bring a smile to your face!

As always, members of the Design Team were given some truly lovely images to use.......I chose this sweet Magical Birthday Sprite

I started with a white card base and placed a piece of pink card stock as the bottom layer.....the teal/blue flower paper, and the yellow paper are freebies from a magazine......I wish I could get more of them, because I love 'em!  The yellow label is cut with a Spellbinder die......

Isn't she gorgeous?  I really, really like this pretty sprite....how could you not believe she's real?...I coloured her with my 2 pink copics....yep....still own only the two....and Promarkers.  The little pink embossed circles are the "waste" from the punched border that runs under the image (Nellie's Multi-border).....well, they were far too pretty to put in the bin...hahaaa!

I found a pack of Glitterations in the 50p bin at The Range....result!.....and used a Marvy le Plume pink marker to change the silver glitter on this swirl and the flower, below......

The flowers are from Prima,  and I added the little pearls.....all Sprites should have some pearls about them at all times......fact........

A teeny butterfly edged with a bit of glitter.......butterflies are attracted to Sprites......another fact.......

See what I mean?

All done!

We all need a little magic in our daily lives, so why not help it along and join in the fun by creating something pretty?

CAS Get Well Card

Hello, and welcome!

We've had a very spring-like day today......white fluffy clouds in  a beautiful blue sky, bright sunshine and a warm (ish) breeze.  The temperatures have bottomed again,  now it's after dark, but it was a very pleasant day, all the same.......might be able to hang out some washing if this keeps up, lol.

It's another Challenge day at Perfect Sentiments so here are the deets......

PSC68: CAS Get Well
Create a clean and simple get well card. Don't forget to include your sentiment on the front.

Our Sponsor

will award one lucky random winner a $10 Gift Voucher to their store!

This was definitely a challenge for  me!  I love to pile on the layers and the fripperies, so making a CAS creation does not come naturally......but, I girded my loins, took a few deep breaths and........
here's my result........
I used a Docrafts scalloped card base and placed a piece of freebie paper as the background......

The image (Framed Flowers) is coloured up with Promarkers and mounted onto a piece of lime green Bazzil Textures card which I'd cut with a scalloped rectangle Spellbinder's  die......I added some sparkle to the flowers with a Sakura clear sparkle pen.....I typed the sentiment on the ol' 'puter and added it to the image before printing off.....

I punched the sweet butterfly with a really old hand punch....the paper is a scrap from "the scrap mountain", and I added more sparkle.....popped it up with a pop-dot.......

Love a bit of sparkle!

Very Clean and Simple,  methinks......
Not really that hard for me to do, and actually seemed to take as much time as my usual more over-the-top tastefully embellished offerings...hahaa!

Your turn!....pop over to see what the fabby Design Team has been doing.....lots of very lovely creations to get your creating mojos up 'n' running!

hugs,
Anne-Marie x
