Cool Cat

My husband plays guitar (really well!!) and we both love kitties, so when I saw Cool Cat by El Gato Gomez, I had to stitch him for DH for Xmas.  Here is the result.  Stitched on 18 with Petite Very Velvet, Silk & Ivory and Threadworx overdyed floss.

Bag Ladies FINISHED

Bag Ladies is finished!  Happy dance!  I started this just a little over a year ago.  But, there were weeks & months when I didn't work on it at all.
I'm very pleased with this.  You can't see the fuzziness in the photo!  But the Center cat (KC) is very fuzzy, as is the white tail (upper right), and Ragdoll (Sweet Pea) at the upper left.
I used lots of angora and fuzzy stuff and brushed like crazy.
For the whiskers, I used an upholstery thread in a slightly off white (white was too stark and didn't look right).  I do have a stash of real whiskers, but they are too thick for these little guys!

Getting back to normal

Unpacking and organizing continues, but we have made great progress.  I now have a studio, but it is not organized and I can't find anything!

I still haven't figured out how to change the header photo.

I have been stitching more, so I will try to post a little more regularly, once a week for now.

Frequently I have wanted something small and simple to work on, so I started a Mill Hill kit, Sapphire by Jim Shorr.  She is ready for beads, but I haven't found my bead buddy yet!

Halloween Kitty Stand-up

Halloween Kitty is finished as a stand-up with an easel back.  Isn't she adorable?!
Since she will be travelling to Scotland, we decided on the ball fringe rather than fancy ribbons & bows for easy packing.  Love the ball fringe!  And the back fabric has glitter in it so it is sparkly.

Halloween Cat, Finished

The little Halloween Cat is finished.  She goes to the finisher this weekend.  She will be finished as a stand up, with an easel back.
This was an easy little canvas to stitch and was nicely painted.  No globs of paint filling up the holes or making the canvas threads thick!  This is an Amanda Lawford canvas.

Little Helper

Last weekend the stitching group I belong to stitched at my house.  We always have a great time and my cat KC joined in the festivities.  Most of the day she lay in the middle of the table, keeping an  eye on everything.  But once in awhile, she got involved!  KC loves threads, and shiny threads in particular.  Here she is helping Michelle with the beautiful Diamond Delights.

In The Garden FINISHED

In The Garden is finished.  Kitty now has a Bargello garden to play in and even a couple of flowers.  All of the background except the flowers is stitched in Watercolours.  The flowers are in Neon Rays.  Kitty even has whiskers!  I will be adding this pattern to my website later this year.

Beginning the Garden

In the Garden is beginning to have a garden now.  So far I have used 3 different Watercolours and have 3 more waiting in the wings.  The Bargello part goes very quickly, although I do have to be careful to compensate correctly around the kitty.  I don't want the background to overpower the cat.

New Kitty

This is KC. We got her from the animal shelter last week. Isn't she gorgeous? She is 18 months old & appears to be a Maine Coon/Persian mix. She is very sweet and loves people. She is very calm. Sweet Pea isn't too sure about her, but they are beginning to get along.
ADDITIONAL INFO: KC has developed an upper respiratory infection (common with shelter kitties) and we had to isolate her to, hopefully, prevent Sweet Pea from getting it. KC will be fine, she is getting antibiotics & lots of love.

She's gonna get you!
I couldn't resist sharing this Halloween Kitty pic with you!
For once, I don't want the Red Eye out!

Sweet Pea

Here is what has been keeping me busy! Miss Sweet Pea came into my home on Sunday. I picked her out at the shelter last week, but she couldn't come home till she had been spayed & chipped. She is a little darling! Very scared though, she had been picked up as a stray and I imagine she had some terrifying times! Until today she mostly stayed behind the washing machine in the laundry room. She's been confined there with all her supplies & equipment! Today she let me pick her up and snuggle her and she got to explore a little more. We'll expand her territory again this afternoon. I expect she'll be all over the house by the end of the week. Hopefully I'll be able to get some better pix.
